I just wanted to update folks, I am selling my home and found out that this company (together with Foundation Finance) will unknowingly place a lien on your property when you finance with them. I was never told by letter or email, and that was never ever shared with me. In case you didn't know what a lien was: "A legal right to possess another's property until a debt is repaid or an obligation is met." So in other words, the bank thought that someone co-owned my property. Now why would this be required for such a small loan that is in good standing (paying on-time monthly)? I had a larger loan with another company for my windows/doors yet they DID NOT feel the need to place a lien on my property. This place is untrustworthy, and sneaky, and I WILL NOT be doing business with them again. I do not recommend them as a company. I suggest you seek other options or at the very minimum demand another Financing Company. read more

Straightforward and honest team, who are respectful of my home and efficient. They coordinate inspections of different condo units so they check all applicable units on the roof of the building with one walkthrough instead of having to go up on the roof for each appointment. They also check for any leaks as a courtesy. It's hard to find a good team like this in NoVA. Then I requested a quote on suggested repairs. 3 weeks of me following up via email & phone to get costs for the additional repairs and no response or "we'll follow up with the techs". As I patiently keep waiting since the initial customer service was great, our ceiling came crashing down. This would have been avoided if AAA HVAC Services responded to what they suggested I do, which was to use them for additional repairs essentially. Then we place the service call for the urgent new issue and they repair the unit, their office coordinator said she'll have the techs reach out to me about the whole issue and no one ever does. Alex and team at AAA HVAC Services are phenomenal. I was experiencing an issue with my hot water heater that left me with no heat or hot water for 20 days at my new residential lease property. After the Property Management company called 5 plumbers to troubleshoot the issue, AAA HVAC was the 1st (of 2) contractors to properly diagnose my issue. Alex immediately identified that the Owner had installed the wrong type of water heater at the property and recommended a direct vent gas water heater instead. While it took some time to go through the approval process to get a new water heater from the Property Management company, it was such a relief to have a professional reputable contractor diagnose my problem. Alex was the first opinion that I personally trusted when troubleshooting this issue. He provided me with concrete information concerning my issue and why a new water heater was needed. On the day of installation, he did a superb job removing the old water tank and piping and replacing it with a new direct vent heater. My gas water heater closet and configuration looks so much better than the former job. Oh, Alex even tested the water and heat temperature before leaving and the best part is that within 1hr (like most contractors previously stated but failed to resolve), I actually began to have heat and hot water. I messaged a bunch of businesses through Yelp when I realized that my A/C had stopped working. This might not be an emergency for everyone, but I can't stand being hot. AAA answered in under a minute. They were available to come the same day, and even though traffic was awful and they couldn't get to my house til early evening, they still came and didn't try to push me off to another day or delay the service. They figured out what was wrong and fixed it in ~20 minutes - explained everything they did, gave me maintenance tips for the future, and were extremely nice and helpful. I really appreciate how fast, friendly, and professional they were. I will be purchasing a preventative maintenance contract through AAA. read more

One the tech arrived, I was completely satisfied with the service- he was friendly and efficient, and appears to have fixed the problem I was having with my furnace. But getting him there was a real pain. The web-site offered me a window of 1-3pm. I had to move a bunch of meetings, but ok. At around 11am, someone called me and explained that the actual window was going to be between 1 and 5. Quite inconvenient- basically need to take half a day off. By 4:30, no sign of them, so I call. Now they tell me the tech is running late and won't be there til 6. I basically wasted half a day off, and didn't need to at all if they had just been accurate about their appointment timing. I suspect this company has been overwhelmed by the success of their positive Yelp reviews. Either that or their scheduling system is in need or a significant redo. read more

Long story short....Called this company because during a home inspection the inspector stated my heating system was shutting off. I needed to get it checked before selling my home. Two techs came out ( on time which is a plus) and stated that I basically needed a whole new system ($1300-$1800). My system is 10-12 years old and according to them at the end of its life. Of course I wasn't prepared for that so I paid them their $90 call fee and called another company (an additional $75 call fee). Verdict: nothing wrong with my system! It is summer time so the heating unit will shut off once the house gets too hot. I ended up paying $165 for basically nothing but I guess it is better than $1800. Shame on you AAA!! read more

Everything seems to be very thorough- the business uses an appointment setting system that notifies you of the appointment and tracks the whole process from start to finish. Very professional... The team was there at the beginning of the time frame that they told me, and they were very friendly and explained the problem to me and offered a solution at a reasonable price. AAA came out to look at our air conditioner which had stopped functioning after just 4 years. The tech took one look at the freon level outside and decided we needed an entirely new unit. We questioned, we pushed, we asked why - all he did was say it definitely needs to be replaced due to the coils leaking inside of it (no test for leaks was performed). He spent a lot of time showing us new units and talking about how great the new one would be compared to this one. Estimate was over $4000. Had another contractor come out, they identified the problem quickly and correctly, which was a leak inside the house (the coils there) and are going to be able to repair the system (it's under warranty, which would have been nice to know) for under $1000. read more

If I could give 10 stars, I would. My husband installed an ecobee thermostat about a month ago. At appropriate temperatures, the ecobee would trigger the auxiliary heat - or at least, the ecobee would show that the auxiliary heat was running - but the auxiliary heat never actually turned on. I first called another company for help. They spent several hours and charged me $500 for them to tell me that they couldn't fix the problem - and that the problem was something electrical between the ecobee and the auxiliary unit (after confirming that the auxiliary heat actually worked). That was a great day in my life. I called AAA, they came out quickly. Sean K worked his magic...and our auxiliary heat now actually turns on when the ecobee says it is running. And they did not charge me $500. AAA was prompt, courteous, respectful, actually solved my problem and didn't charge me through the nose. read more

I bought a groupon for a system inspection and winter maintenance. I scheduled the appointment on a Thursday when I was working from home. The arrival window was noon to four. At 3, they called to reschedule since the tech was hung up at the last job (all of them or if this is a one man operation I don't know). I made the appointment for the following thursday. The guy came, turned the thermostat to hot, checked that I had changed my air filter (every six weeks, religiously), held his hand over the heat pump, told me everything was fine, didn't even ask me anything about the system. I did like the way they text you reminders, that was about the only positive I found with this outfit. Integrity means doing what you say you will, maybe consider looking into some. read more

I blocked off the two hour appointment timeframe and nobody showed up. I got a call 30 minutes after the appointment timeframe to tell me that their online software is to blame and that they don't have any available appointments until August. Although you book through Yelp, I suggest calling their office to confirm. There was a bit of a glitch in scheduling, but as soon as I called, a very polite lady arranged for technicians to arrive in less than two hours. Dealing with furnace issues is never a glamour, but the experience, service and personal care I received from Alex and his team at AAA HVAC is unparalleled and I would be remiss if I did not share my experience from this stellar team. It was about 10 PM on a cold winter evening and I noticed the thermostat was reading 64 degrees when it was set for 72. I had heard the furnace kick on a few times, but no heat was coming out and the pilot light would ignite. I'm a tenant, not a landlord, so I didn't know who to contact after hours since our management company was closed but thankfully the AAA HVAC sticker was on the furnace unit so I called them in the hopes this could get resolved and I didn't have to sleep in a sleeping bag that night. They took my information and then said someone would contact me shortly to see if they could help troubleshoot. Sure enough, about 15 minutes later I received a text from Alex (who actually had changed out our HVAC the previous summer and remembered what a wonderful disposition and attitude he had), who remembered the work they had done on my unit and also knew that the system was very new. He coached me through a variety of steps for about an hour--very patient all the way--and after taking the cover off of the front of the unit and resetting the switch, the furnace kicked on and all seemed to be going well. The next day at the same time, I noticed the same thing happened. I tried to troubleshoot walking through all the steps Alex and I had done over text the previous night (circuit breaker, gas shut-off, resetting the switch, etc), but nothing seemed to work. We turned on the fireplace that night to keep the house warm, and then Alex came over first thing in the morning to replace out the pilot lights in the furnace and also the thermostat (just to rule out if that was faulty) and stayed and tested everything, and all was well. That evening though, the pilot light didn't kick back on and realized that it's nothing with the unit, but with the gas line. The next day he came out and fixed any possible variable that might affect the furnace from working and I'm happy to say that two weeks later the house is warm and cozy and the only text I've had to send Alex is a "thumbs up, thanks for the great job." While he was out on one of his visits I did ask him to look at the hot water heater, and we realized that it was almost 20-years old and was contributing to some of the issues I was having with the shower. Alex took a diagnostic of the situation and was happy to spend the extra time walking me few some suggestions to improve the pressure of the shower, but he did recommend to the management company that the hot water heater be replaced sooner and later due to the installation date and significant corrosion on the pipes. And then low and behold, I'm now enjoying hot water for more than five minutes and someone else can take a shower after me with hot water too. Then after the service was complete he checked in to make sure everything was working fine and to see if there were any issues. Really top notch service from beginning to end. Mind you, during this entire endeavor, Alex never appeared frustrated by the situation and was committed to figuring out the solution regardless of the number of texts, calls and visits to my house. During this entire process Alex has been available and responsive to my every text 24/7, which to me is unheard of in the contracting services business, and that really shows the dedication and commitment Alex has for customer service and what he instills in his team. They also leave the place immaculate (you'd never know boots had trekked through the house), and they even brought in packages that were delivered outside my door. Like I said, it's always at the worst time that something goes out (10 PM and no heat on a winter's evening is no cup-of-tea), but if you're going to have someone in your corner, you know you can count on Alex and his team at AAA HVAC and that gives me comfort--at any hour of the day. You can be sure that when I'm a homeowner again, it will be Alex and his team on my speed dial for any HVAC issues. Seriously...if I could give six stars I would, but I'll settle for five. read more

AAA just came by for a diagnostic check on my outdoor condenser unit wasn't working. They did all their checks, told me the capacitor looked fine (which is what I thought the issue was initially), but had me had me go check the breaker again. I had reset the master breaker before I asked them to come, but it seemed the AC specific breaker was tripped. Reset it and it was working fine. They checked the air quality and the cooling quality, and said everything looks fine. When I was going to pay them the $90 diagnostic fee, they said "don't worry about it, it's on us!" They will definitely be my first and only call for all my HVAC needs due to their work ethic, honest, and technical knowledge! read more

We had a water leak issue on AC in our tenants house. We used another contractor but not able to fix it. AAA HVAC Services responded and took action quickly to fix the issue. They also installed an extended pipe to the drain pipe and adjusted the angle so the water are less likely to overflow on the top and better drained. The price is lower than most contractors too. Offered me different options without being super pushy. Got a new furnace within 48 hours. They could have easily said that this was a job for an electrician, charged me for the service, and left. But they went out of their way to help me replace the emergency shut off switch and test my unit after to make sure everything was okay. I purchased a groupon for a pre-winter furnace cleaning and maintenance. I was very disappointed with the service I received from AAA. My furnace was not turning on when I lowered the thermostat and when AAA came out to do the maintenance they told me that I needed a new control board (for $325). They also wanted to charge me an additional $90 for "diagnosing" the issue. I got a second opinion and found that the thermostat's battery was shot. I replaced the battery and the furnace turned on just fine. AAA tried to rip me off and didn't even do the job they were supposed to do with the groupon which included checking the thermostat. So my wife and I came home on a Sunday evening around 7 PM. We enter the house and noticed it was very warm. We kick on the air and then after an hour the temperature was the same. At that point, I go online to look up HVAC service companies to come out and check out our problem. I called 4 different places to get quotes. Out of the 4, I got 3 call backs and Shawn from AAA HVAC was the first to call. I spoke to all 3 and the cost were relatively similar. To be honest, my wife and I were expecting Monday morning as the fix time. But Shawn said I could have a guy out to you in half an hour. Now I don't know if that's always the standard, but sure enough, one of his guys was here about 35 minutes later. He assessed the problem, showed me what was wrong, then let me know how he would fix it. About an hour and half later, we were up and running and the house was cooling down quickly. Thanks to the folks at AAA HVAC for taking such good care of us on a Sunday evening! By the way, there was no additional charge for coming out on a Sunday or later in the evening. I purchased a home this past March and had an system that was on the verge of collapse. I called Sears to come by and give me a price, and they came to my house to do an inspection of what I had and then explained what they were going to give me. They kept trying to upcharge me on so many different things I did not need. My electrician recommended I work with AAA so I called them. They immediately came out and honored the same price they quoted me over the phone. My work was completed in one day and it was a bit more than they anticipated to do. They had to replace my thermostat wire which was a tedious job, but they did it and didn't charge me a dime extra. They also put in a Nest thermostat which my wife and I have been spoiled by. I recommend these guys for any size HVAC job...it's not like other companies where you deal with just any sales person - you deal with the owners of the company - and they make calls right away to get you going. Charged $80 to diagnose the problem, which was a bad ignitor. another $50 for labor and $120 for the ignitor, which I saw priced alot cheaper online. He knocked off $20 for the ignitore which brought my total to $242. He was here for all of 5 minutes. I don't feel the pricing was fair, but my heat is working again. Also, he didn't ask me if I wanted him to replace the ignitor or tell me the cost until after it was already installed. I personally will not use them again. read more

I made the mistake of going with a repair guy who has recently left another local company. This mistake ended up costing me thousands.
