Unfortunately after the first warm up of the season I found that my Air Conditioner had bit it. I'm in a condo, where the outdoor AC unit is on the roof and where the coil and furnace are packed into a strangely sized very small space. As I started looking into fixes for the AC I found that many places would not even consider fixing the AC without doing a full HVAC replacement. When I contacted AAA about the job they not only replied almost instantly to my yelp message, but they sent two techs out at my earliest convenience for free to look at the unit and give me an estimate. Sean and Alex were both very knowledgeable and were communicative throughout the estimate process. As they were taking measurements they were also able to explain things that previous technicians could/would not, and even found units which would allow for the installation without the use of a crane, which no other technicians could offer. In the end they gave me multiple options, ranging from only replacing the AC to doing the full system replacement. While they were not the lowest estimate they were the most complete, with part numbers and labor costs clearly explained and I never felt like they were pressuring or trying to up sell me despite the clear potential for a large sale. The combination of the honesty about the estimate and the professional attitude meant I went with AAA to replace my whole system. On the day of the install two installers showed up in the first 10 minutes of the window they gave me for arrival. While the installers were not Alex and Sean from the estimate, they were both communicative and got right to work. Alex and Sean came by twice throughout the installation to check on the progress and make sure I was ok with how things were going. It took approximately 8 hours to do the installation but the installers were very professional and careful not to damage anything in my condo or leave a mess. They put down thick canvas drop cloths to protect the carpet on my stairs and hallway outside of the utility room, and even vacuumed the utility room before leaving. I have not had many service technicians show that much respect for my space before and I certainly appreciated it. The unit has been in for almost a week now and thanks to the crazy weather I have used both the heat and AC and both are working great. Most strongly recommended for installing new or repairing existing HVAC Systems. After extensive research of local HVAC companies in the greater DC area, I called several companies, including AAA HVAC to discuss their proposals. AAA HVAC promptly responded and ended up being the best choice (price and and most favorable reviews - Yelp, Google, Angies List and BBB). I had them install a new Gas Furnace and accompanying Air Conditioner. The entire process, from Alex (one of the owners) discussing and helping select the desired system to the installation of the equipment went smoothly. Their technicians showed up earlier than scheduled (7 a.m.) and installed the equipment professionally, cleaning up after themselves after completing the install. Alex showed up toward the end of the installation process to view the work completion. I see having a long term relationship with AAA HVAC Systems and have no regrets in choosing them for installing my Gas Furnace and Air Conditioner. P.S. My heat pump finally gave out after 34 years of faithful service last summer. Since AAA had serviced it for the previous owner of my house and successfully kept it running for a long time I decided to call them first. Alex and Sean quoted me prices for a couple units that would fit in the tight space I had available for my air handler. I ended up spending a little more than I intended on a Carrier, but hopefully in the long run it'll be worth it. They were also able to schedule an install within 48 hours, which is obviously nice when it's 90 degrees out and your HVAC system doesn't work. I did ultimately have some problems with the thermostat they installed (I guess the T6 model is pretty buggy), but to their credit they did come out twice to fix and ultimately replace it with no charge to me. I've found Alex and Sean to be very fair in their dealings with me - they're not trying to sell you an HVAC system and then bail when it doesn't work, which is a good sign. read more

I am so happy with the work that was done by the team at AAA HVAC Services. My furnace went out that very cold day in early January 2014 and right away, I was taken care of by AAA, from the immediate phone call from the service technician to schedule my visit to setting up my appointment the very next morning. All the gentleman who came to help me, Alex and Sean for coming by so soon after I had called and explaining the details and scheduling my service right away the next day, and Sammy and Juan for their time and work done to get my new furnace in and working, and making sure that I was informed, all were wonderful. My new furnace works beautifully and the price was beyond reasonable, but even more importantly, I felt confident that the new unit would work efficiently and safely, and I did get follow-up calls to make all was okay. This review is long overdue. AAA HVAC did a fantastic job a few months ago when I had an A/C problem during a very hot Northern Va week with a small infant at home. Their team responded quickly. Unfortunately, we were working with a very old a/c system (1980s). Their team didn't try to make easy money and instead recommended some temporary solutions that kept the home cool while we decided on which new unit to purchase. They offered us a few options but we also shopped them against the competition. Not only were they one of the most reasonable but also genuine, friendly and prompt in their communication. I called AAA when I woke up after the snowtorm with no heat. They had come in the past to do maintenance and I had liked them. They came that same morning and did a temporary fix until they could order parts. My HVAC/furnace was over 13 years old and I decided to replace. Alex gave me three options, all of which were fairly priced. I decided on the higher priced option due to the Tane brand reputation and thorugh talking with friends and family knew I was getting a fair price and fast service. The entire HVAC system was installed in my townhome in about 6-7 hours. After only 5 years, my old air conditioner went out and the company from whom I purchased it ran me around the block for five days before I contacted AAA HVAC Services. I hired AAA hvac services to repair my furnace a few weeks ago. They were prompt in coming over and assessing the situation. The technician went through in detail what the problem was, why it happened and what the solutions are, which nobody has given me before in past companies I have used. The problem was a small leak in my outdoor ac which was causing warm air to blow throughout the house. It took him about 1 hour to fix the whole problem, then he retested the system and since then have not had any issues. I called AAA Hvac last week when my air conditioner went out and they came out same day within a few hours to repair my ac. The tech who came out was Alexander and he went through diagnosing the problem and found the problem to be my condenser motor was bad. He explained how it happens which now I know and gave me some tips to prolong the life of my system. Cost wise I paid $399 for the replacement motor and capacitor which I was told should be replaced together. A/C went out on a 98 degree evening. All other "24 hour" HVAC repair places we called (including the company that installed our unit 3 years ago) couldn't get anyone out until the next day. With 3 dogs in the house, we were about to go to a hotel room when our call to AAA HVAC was returned by Alex - who said he could be at our home within 15 minutes. Had the AAA HVAC guys back last Friday to check out an issue with my thermostat. They didn't charge me anything which is nice since I called them Friday evening and Sean found the thermostat to be bad, which sucks since I just had the unit installed not to long ago. But he went ahead and changed out right then and there and now my heat is working again. Alex at AAA has always done a great job for us. He never pushes products or services, and even defers some work until it is really needed. In addition, the folks at AAA are extremely timely. For example, our AC stopped working on a Sat at 5PM so I called and it was fixed (yes, fixed) by 6:15PM. This was very much appreciated as my wife was 37 wks preggo at the time and we had a toddler. My condo association requires a yearly inspection of all HVACS, which is paid for through the association. I am a first-time homeowner who knows nothing about the heating/AC system. The inspector who came from AAA gave me about 4 or 5 options to think over for my system.
