The transmission went out on our 2007 Buick LaCrosse, so they fixed it up and did it in a reasonable amount of time. Then, as luck would have it, our engine needed to be replaced. We already knew the time was coming based on the sounds it had been making. They came and towed our car to their shop. They found us a new engine and did a complete engine swap. They also replaced it in a very timely manner. We had a broken fog light (which we never even mentioned to them) and they took care of that for us. Their prices were very reasonable, service was excellent and they're very friendly. Finally, a mechanic we can trust! We will be using them for all of our other cars when the time comes. spent about 5k trying to get a working transmission that was never really repaired. They tried 3 times. Yes that's 3 rebuilds with the third only lasting a few months. When I brought it back they kept it for two weeks then told me they're not going to fix it because it's been too long from the first time I brought it in. I got a total of about 30,000 miles from all three rebuilds and now I still have a vehicle with a broken transmission. Do I pay another transmission shop to do it right? I wouldn't mind an actual mechanic taking a look to see if the laundry list of parts they charged me for were really replaced. I wrote a negative review before the last failed rebuild and they asked me to change my review. I did because I thought they were finally going to fix it. They kept my truck for two weeks and when I called to see how much longer John said they just finished it. when I drove the truck, it sounded horrible and kicked really hard into second and third gear. I called John and he told me he drove it for week to make sure it was good and I needed to "just drive it" and he practically hung up on me. Apparently he forgot he told me they just finished the repair (or did he drive it for week?). The second time I brought it in John said the transmission fluid was old and black which was not true unless that's what they put in there on the first rebuild. They try to sell you on other repairs that are unrelated so watch your wallet. The canned response from the owner is bogus too. I tried to email him with the details from our dealings and I never received a reply. If you need a headlight or an oil change, maybe this shop will be ok. I wouldn't trust them to fix anything complicated like electrical, engine, or transmission work. read more

Garbage! Took in my truck for trans service knowing what was wrong. I got talked into their so called "$750 take apart to see what's wrong" deal and come to find out that "the whole transmission is shot". 2400 bucks later and I was left with a clunky trans that NEVER ran correctly. Well here I am a year and a half later (just past the warranty of course) and boom their shotty ass work has failed me again. Come to find out I could've bought a remanufactured unit put it in myself, got 3x the warranty AND saved myself $1000 bucks. Only go here if you fee like being put in an unwinable situation on a repair they don't even have the faith to stand behind for more than a year. ) 3 yr unlimited mileage from a company that KNOWS what they are doing Can't believe I let these guys scam me. read more

AAMCO has coupons on their website for $19.99 oil changes. I printed 2 and did appointment requests online. Within a few hours we had appointments scheduled for both of our vehicles. The man I spoke with on the phone was friendly and accommodating. My husband is the one who actually took the vehicles to AAMCO, but he had several positive things to say about them. When I looked at our receipts, I was very happy that there wasn't a laundry list of services or repairs "suggested" on our vehicles. It seems AAMCO is an honest shop in town that won't try to upsell you on unnecessary repairs. This shop is close to home, and you can't go wrong with a $20 oil change and great service. While visiting bestie in Aurora I decided that was the day that my AC would get checked! I could not fathom driving all the way back to Chicago with no air. It was just too hot! Checked out a different place before here and they told me I would have to leave my car for a few hours or schedule an appt. Umm. Negative. Enter AAMCO. They were hospitable and personable. Told me they could check it out and the process shouldn't take more than 45 mins. And it didn't! The only thing I was disappointed in they didn't have a tv or a radio for the waiting room. But they did have WiFi so you could surf or watch on your phone. They completed the job and now my AC is so cold I had to turn it off for a few mins! Thank you AAMCO. read more

I took my truck was there they took over 3 weeks to fix it. 1st they said it was the trans Alex seal. Was the transmission the whole time They fixed the seal. They charged 247.00.Took it back in the morning. Was not fixed. It was the same. I went on a ride with them. it was the transmission. They took too long over 3 weeks to put a rebuilt transmission that insurance send them. It was Siting there for days. They kept changing the date like 4 times. It's was supposed to be ready again on Monday. They said it needs a battery nd they couldn't program. I told them it was replaced in October. They wanted me to purchase the battery was under warranty. I told them why didn't they charge it.They could not even charge it. They said they had no charger they lied to stall more time. I even called to have a battery delivered nd they never called them back. They changed the day again nd still was not ready until 4 days later i would not recommend then. They make to many excuse. All they did is put it in. It took then more than 3 weeks. They also hung up on me. There not reliable to fix it when they say they keep changing the dates. Take much to long. In April, my silver 1996 blazer was in need of a transmission. I brought it over to AAMCO, as they are transmission specialists and I wanted the best service for my beloved car. The manager, John, was extremely professional, helpful and kind. The rear main seal was leaking but it was fixed when the transmission was put in; had I gotten that fixed at a different time it would have cost a lot more money. I did not qualify for the payment plan. However, John made an agreement with my dad and I, who were total strangers to him at that point, so each week for about six weeks we paid as much as we could. It was a very kind gesture to make. Then, just a couple of weeks later the shifter cable needed to be replaced. John was once again very helpful, allowing me to pick my car up before it was paid for. As far as the car itself goes, It runs like a brand new car! The mechanics at AAMCO did a wonderful job. I would recommend AAMCO for any transmission problems. I paid to have work done on my truck that has not been completed. Had it in and out for weeks on end. Had to find rides to and from work, no help from there. $3000 down the drain.
