After 34 wonderful years of marriage, my wife and I decided it was time to celebrate with a truly extraordinary diamond ring. Irv made the entire experience unforgettable. He patiently guided us through every step of selecting the perfect 3.0-carat radiant-cut diamond, D color, VVS2 clarity, and helped us pair it with a stunning 18-karat gold setting. The finished ring is absolutely breathtaking. What sets Irv apart is not just his deep knowledge of diamonds and fine jewelry, but his integrity, honesty, and genuine passion for helping his customers. There was never any pressure--only thoughtful guidance, exceptional attention to detail, and a sincere desire to make sure we found exactly the right piece. Buying fine jewelry is about more than gemstones; it's about creating lasting memories. Thanks to Irv, this experience became one of those special moments my wife and I will always remember. His professionalism, craftsmanship, and personal service are second to none. If you're considering a significant jewelry purchase, do yourself a favor and visit Irv at Allura Fine Jewelers. You will be treated with respect, honesty, and expertise, and you'll leave with something truly exceptional. He has earned our highest recommendation, and we look forward to returning for many years to come.

When I arrived for my appointment, I called in from the lobby per instructions to be allowed in. The folks helped me out with a watch band issue and even took a look at an old family pocket watch and made some recommendations on how to find out more about it. If you're interested in shopping for a brand or watch, call ahead to let them know your interests and make an appointment.

I came in on a Saturday afternoon dressed pretty casually for a hot summer day. My intent: Take a…read morelook at their collection of high-end watches, do further research, and come back to make a purchase later. Also, I had in my backpack, a brand new Omega Speedmaster that I needed resizing (basically just removing links from the bracelet). The first person I spoke with told me, "I'm not sure we can do that here"...and then another person (Mark) came out and told me that the Omega store was just a couple blocks away but they "probably didn't have the tools to do this". I found it patently absurd that a fine swiss watch boutique could not adjust the length of a watch band. I also noticed a couple of times that he glanced at my wrist, probably to size up my buying power. I purposefully had worn my trust Citizen Ecodrive field watch (a $100 watch). I did this because I wanted to see if the cliché of high-end luxury salespeople judging you based on appearance and tailoring their approach/effort accordingly was actually true. So I said I'd just go to the Omega store, but first, I would just take a look around at some watches. The guy "helping" me made zero effort to make any conversation, get to know what I was looking for, etc. I spotted a nice Zenith Pilot watch and asked to see it. He took it out and I asked him to tell me about it. He offered that Zenith has the trademark on naming a watch "Pilot" and pretty much stopped there. Said nothing about the movement, history of the brand, the watch finishes, etc. I told him I was interested in buying a pilot watch. A nod and silence...It just felt like he was hoping for me to leave ASAP. It seems crazy to me that people selling high-end products in a boutique setting could think this is a good way to treat potential customers? Anyways, I then took my Speedy to the Omega store and that was the totally opposite experience: Andrew and Andy were super helpful, happy to adjust my watch band (did it for free too), and showed me several watches, telling me about the tooling Omega developed to make them, their history, and letting me try them all on. I didn't buy anything that day, but you can bet I'm going to be buying from Omega (or a boutique that cares about treating customers well) way before I ever give this place my business.

Here is the revised Yelp version with the company and watch brand names removed:…read more **No to Jules -- YES!!!! to Alexa and Rachel.** Alexa and Rachel are wonderful representatives of this jeweler: helpful, sincere, professional, and welcoming. My experience with Jules was the opposite. That is my opinion. Accept it or disregard it. I will buy here in the future **BECAUSE of Alexa and Rachel, DESPITE my interactions with Jules.** I visited the Highland Park location to have four luxury watches sized, timed, function-tested, and assessed for possible service. The store is an authorized dealer for two of the brands. I clearly explained that the watches had been purchased through reputable secondary-market sources and that I was **not** requesting formal authentication or a certificate. I simply wanted an experienced professional to examine them and tell me whether anything appeared obviously wrong. The first person I spoke with understood the distinction. She appropriately explained that official authentication would require sending the watches through service, but said they could size them, time them, and give them a general examination. When I called again to confirm that the appropriate staff would be available, Jules repeatedly interrupted me and sternly emphasized that they would not tell me the watches were "authentic." I was not asking them to do that. When I arrived, Rachel greeted me and listened to what I was requesting. Jules then called out from across the counter that she had **"ALREADY EXPLAINED WHAT THEY WOULD DO--SIZE AND TIME!"** That was unnecessary, unprofessional, and embarrassing. Rachel took over and handled the situation appropriately. Alexa later assisted with the sizing. Both clearly reiterated that the store could not certify authenticity, which I completely understood, but they also gave the watches a professional look and said they did not see anything that immediately caused concern. That is all I had requested. Spotting something obviously wrong is not the same as formally certifying authenticity. Asking for one is not demanding the other. If an authorized luxury-watch dealer cannot recognize an obvious concern while handling and sizing a watch, then both the dealer and the customer have a larger problem. A relationship with a jeweler **IS A RELATIONSHIP.** It is built, cultivated, and curated over time. Every interaction either strengthens that relationship or erodes it. Luxury retailers should remember that they do not know what a customer may purchase, trade, service, or recommend in the future. The long view matters more than proving who is "right" or who is in charge. I sincerely hope this feedback is shared with Jules constructively. This is not written merely to embarrass or criticize her. If management believes my perspective has value, I hope she is given the opportunity to hear it, reflect on it, and learn from it. Everyone can have a poor interaction or an off day. What matters is what someone does with the feedback. Alexa and Rachel understood the distinction and represented the store exceptionally well. They are the reason I would return.

We have been customers for the past 16 years and not only have we purchased Rolex and Cartier…read morewatches there, but I've also had many watches serviced there. We have also recommended this place to our siblings & friends and they have purchased from them and I will no longer do so. I had purchased a pre-owned Rolex last year out of state and we wanted to get it serviced. But. They refused to do it! The watchmaker "heard" and called the lady at the front desk to tell her to tell me that they wouldn't service my watch. There is technically nothing wrong with the watch however because it was bought used and not CPO so we don't know when the last time it was serviced. The watch is approximately 20 years old. (we did get box & papers with it ) They always say you should get it serviced every 8 to 10 years so since we have no clue, when was the last service, I brought it in to be serviced. I think they didn't want work on it because it was a watch that was purchased outside of their store. Because I really don't understand why they would turn me away. I'm a loyal customer bringing in a Rolex to be serviced but not anymore. I am stunned. Awful customer service!

What was great was that the Lifetime Batteries I bought for them from the Woodfield shop were still valid and so I was able to get them replaced for free without having to start over again! Very honorable business! I do plan on bringing my other watches in my 40-50-watch collection, even if I have to make the shlep up to Vernon Hills -- it is well worth it! This location is in a great mall, with a lot of great stores and restaurants all around it to tide me over while I wait for them to work on my watches. (For this visit, it only took 30 minutes for the awesome lady who helped me out, to replace the batteries.) Also: The Lifetime Battery deal they have is a great deal; glad I don't have to pay for a new battery every time it dies -- such a great value!
