Buddy of mine recommended this location. Had my brakes changed awhile ago, bought a pair of ceramics from autozone for under $40 (adjacent business) pulled in into Abram's next. Don't remember exactly, but i think I was charged close to $40 for the whole operation. What I liked is that the $ was reasonable, I was in-and-out in under 30mins + I gave them 5-stars over 4 because the son of the owner was kind enough to explain to me... the next time I need a brake change, "whoever you go to", I should replace rotors as well & showed me how much more thinner they'd be by then "they're still good now"... well he was right - rotors were still fine! Wow really!? Some other place would tell you to replace everything & find a way to charge up to $200 or more. The whole thing with brakes @ autozone & replacement @ Abram's was less than $80 total. I'm happy to know that not all auto places are scoundrels who are total scam-artists the way most of them are. Unconditionally recommend. I rarely say that about ****any*** business, much less an auto repair shop. They deserve it. I am a single woman and I know a little about cars. I've changed my fuel filter before after watching a youTube video. When a bulb goes out in my headlight, I fix it myself. I took an 6 week auto repair class many years ago, where I learned how to do harder stuff, but also learned what dirty, hard, work fixing cars is. I don't have a lot of money. I work three different part-time jobs as a newly minted teacher. I starting coming to this place a few years ago when I was still in grad school. They are near me. I just lucked out. I trust this place unconditionally. They charge me less than other places. They take me under the car and show me what is wrong. They save the old parts they take off the car when they have to get new parts (some places will say they replaced a part, but didn't - always ask for your old parts - I didn't have to ask here). They fix easy stuff for free (I had a bad battery terminal nut tonight. Free). I was holding back tears of gratitude tonight. They diagnosed a more expensive problem, had me take photos of what was wrong under the car, told me to how to talk to my Subaru Dealer (the part I need is hard to find in older cars - mine's a 1998). He sent me off after showing me how the car was safe to drive. I sent a male friend here. He had a similar experience - amazing service, reasonable prices. Mornings on a Monday, even Tuesdays are super busy. Try the afternoon. Try stopping by on a Wednesday or Thursday afternoon. These are good people. read more

Let's start out by saying this is my first review and needed to document what happened. My cars headlights went out and I needed to also get a connector changed. I went to autozone across the street and they sent me here. I pull in and the owner pulls in behind me. He says how much do you want to pay? I say $5 and then quotes me $10. Great! Then there is some sassyness from the mechanics because I guess it's a lot of work to change this lightbulb and connector. Then I hear a lady yelling at the owner in the office and he comes out all sassy saying I don't care what you do, you could work for Obama, ten dollars for this light but not the other one,$40 for The other one, with a terrible attitude. I didn't know it was all this work and he quoted me, so I bit my tongue and paid the $40. This could have been the most uncomfortable experience in a place of business I've had in a long time. read more

I was soooo lucky to find Aprim Auto repair and luckily live very near by. But I would never take my car anywhere else. I am a single woman and have had so many auto repair shops rip me off and way over charge but Aprim is just the opposite. He really cares about each customer. He has always charged me less than ANYONE else. No need to even shop around for better prices, Aprim is as friendly and caring as can be, he goes out of his way to fix your car quickly if you need it for work. He always seems to charge exactly the lowest possible cost him for parts and generous service. City street repair forced me to tow my disabled car at night. As a first-time customer, I went based on local recommendations to Aprim Auto Repair. Once my car was towed I was stuck to whatever price and service they determined to get the car going. April himself looked over the car. He made a plan for me, got the car started and repaired the one major issue. Then he showed how another issue could defer until summer and maybe another to fall. He worked with my budget and got me going at a fantastic price. I will surely return for the follow-up work, as needed. My good friend suggested we take our company truck here for repairs. Long story short. Abrim is honest and hard working. Honesty should be at the top of the list when it comes to car guys. We thought our repairs would require a hell of a lot more than what was actually wrong. He could have hosed us, but he didn't. He replaced a faulty steering fluid line and that was that. For the last 13 years, whenever I had a car, I've taken it to Aprim. I don't know if there is a more honest mechanic in the city. Aprim is a man with compassion. When I was broke and driving around in clunkers, he was wouldn't judge me for driving in cars that probably shouldn't have been on the road. Instead, he would recognize my need and work with me on repairs. If I didn't have enough money, he would repair my car enough to get me on the road safely until I had the money to make a full repair. There aren't many people that would do that for a kid off the street with little to no money to pay. Now that he's more popular, be prepared to wait longer than other mechanic shops. It's worth the wait. I'm in a much better financial situation than in my twenties and my current car is in much better shape, but still I'll take my car in for an oil change and wait 1.5 hours if I have to, just cause I trust Aprim and his guys. Even if I have to take my car in for something he doesn't do, like body work, I'll take it to him and he'll refer me to another shop that he trusts and he's never steered me wrong. I went there by the referral of a friend, he told me they were honest and reasonably priced. I went and yes, they were honest but it took 20 minutes for someone to come up, the guy that came up was just sitting there watching me, I thought he was a customer waiting for his car. He finally greeted me with a "Buddy, why is your car here." After explaining the problem and what I thought it was he says, "No, no that's not it at all" and walks away leaving me waiting another 10 minutes. The owner shows up, Aprim, and I again explain, he says "No, let me figure this out." He also walks away and doesn't come back. By then another customer had pulled up behind me, pulls his car in and is serviced right away. Obviously my money is not good here. Too many red flags. Yes, they were honest, and I was tempted to hang on to the bias of my friend, but their service was Terrible. I yelped it and went to ALBANY PARK AUTO as recommended by Yelp.
