Tl;dr - Beautiful sunset view and outdoor seating! Food, drinks and service were good - be sure to constantly check that they're open to the public since they don't give adequate notice when they're not. No reservations, so get there early to get a good spot. I'm local and have been wanting to visit this spot for a while. There aren't many "nice" rooftop places so it's refreshing to have a classy spot to go. I can't speak to parking because this place is right next to the Church Street SunRail station - hop aboard and skip the traffic and parking nightmare! Such an easy walk and ride. I brought my out of town friend here to celebrate her college graduation. We ordered drinks and some apps (wings, sun dried tomato dip). All of the food was great and decently priced considering that we were at a hotel bar. The service was great as well, and our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable about menu items and had recommendations. I plan to come back and bring my husband to try it! Removing a star because we planned this two weeks in advance. I'm a "planner" type of person and went to the website multiple times in that time period to scope out the menu, hours, etc. especially because they don't do reservations. I knew they were closing the bar to only hotel guests on 12/31 (NYE) because they had an alert on their site for that. We planned to come 12/29 and it was open to the public at that time. Sometime between my last visit to the site (the day before our plans) and the night we planned to arrive, they closed to "just hotel guests." Seeing as my friend drove an hour out of her way to come, it frustrating that they didn't provide notice sooner on their site. She went upstairs to use the bathroom as they were opening and then sat down and ordered a drink. Next thing she knew, they were putting out "hotel guest only" signage. She called me in a panic...but she'd already ordered, so we stayed! Didn't mean to accidentally sneak in...though we're grateful we didn't have to leave (the place was dead anyway). I've lived in high rises over for over ten years so beautiful views are not a bonus for me, but if the service was good maybe the view would've been more impressive. My husband went to AC sky bar for a relaxing afternoon drink...sounds easy enough right? Well we were told it was open seating and to sit anywhere and a server would come to us. They were not busy and we were 1 of 3 groups outside. We sat for 10 minutes before seeing a neighboring table with a server, who then completely ignored us when we politely tried to get their attention. 3 other servers completely walked right past us even when we tried to get their attention to see if our server could come to us. Stopped in for drinks and tapas. We started with the crispy potatoes, tortilla espanola and meatball cazuela. Everything came out hot and cooked correctly. All of the choices had great flavor and balanced in his seasoning. It was the perfect tapa/snack that we needed for happy hour. I had a Tito's Strawberry Lemonade which was light and refreshing. It was not too strong, but had good flavor. The view is what makes this location. I will say the afternoon/happy hour can be tricky to get a seat that is not in the sun since it can tend to get warm. We were able to get a table by the door, but enjoy the view and setting sun. The server was very nice and she made the recommendation of the tortilla which we enjoyed. My wife and I came here on a quiet Sunday afternoon just to grab some drinks. Getting service here proved to be impossible. We literally stood up and waved at several different servers after sitting sitting there for 30 minutes with no one greeting us. Completely ridiculous and will never come back. Checked out this place at 5pm on a Friday for a friend's birthday, and were told it would be about an hour wait. We were bummed (and a little shocked that it was so packed so early in the evening), but even worse - they said we had to stay in the lobby and wait! We couldn't even wander away to pass the time. I wish they would have a text-messaging system set up so you could at least head somewhere else to pass the time until space opens up for you. Luckily, they called for us after only about 30 minutes. The drink prices were about as expected ($10-13 per cocktail) but were both strong and delicious! I had the O-Town Florida Mule and a red sangria. We also ended up eating - we ordered chicken caesar salads and the prosciutto and manchego cheese plate - also delicious and good sizes for the price. The staff was friendly and we didn't feel rushed into leaving, even when we stopped ordering and just sat and talked for a bit. During our visit to AC SKY BAR at the AC Hotel in Orlando, we had a mixed experience. While we enjoyed the ambiance and the bottle of Prosecco, there were some areas of concern. We encountered an issue with the outside bartender, Jaide, who displayed a lack of willingness to assist. I can understand anyone can have a bad day. But, after waiting for 40 minutes past opening time, we had to seek assistance from another server to place our order. After finally opening the outside bar every customer that approached her she insisted that all tabs needed to be closed with her exclusively, which seemed unnecessary and inconvenient. We made reservations for outside seating and got there 15 mins early and the hostess sat us very quickly. We were not staying at the hotel. The Sky Bar was a very cute brunch vibe. We got seated next to the DJ and it was the perfect volume. Not even that, but the DJ's music choice, mix variations, and vibes were all *chefs kiss* (phenomenal job!! And you could tell he was really into his craft, and we got a music range that flowed from 50 cent to Taylor Swift with perfect flow) The food was excellent, we were hesitant because of other reviews because half of our party of two is a picky eater (no names) but both plates came out fast, hot, and beautifully done. The drinks came out quickly and well made (unpictured pineapple mimosa was great) (also had a lavender drop which i took a picture of! And if you're picky they also have other choices such as white claws ect.) When you see this place you'll probably do the same thing I did. Think that it's a hotel bar, in a downtown Orlando high rise. You'll think it'll be majorly overpriced for unoriginal drinks and food. BUT like me, you'll be wrong! I was so amazed by their regular menu not to mention their happy hour! It was SO cheap! this is a beautiful location, great for a date! Take the elevator up, (I can't remember which floor but it's high) and sit outside to watch the sun set while you drink cheap AF beer and wine and snack on $5 small bites. I can't wait til it gets cool enough for the fire tables to be useful. My friends and I went here for happy hour before going to a show at the Dr Phillips center. I got one of their seasonal draft beer choices ($4) and the avocado toast ($5) from the HH menu. My friends got wine ($5 for a pretty decent pour), prosciutto toast and crispy potatoes (each $5). We had the pleasure of being the first customers of AC Sky Bar in downtown Orlando We haven't been out to brunch since 2019 so we felt so blessed to be able to safely enjoy a beautiful day out. Robert, the manager, was so welcoming and receptive to feedback. Our server Sasha was wonderful - and new to Orlando after being a Seattle native! Glad to welcome her to the city beautiful. The menu was diverse and delicious. We ordered the egg and prosciutto cazuela, the open face brunch toast, and their take on French toast. The cazuela was deceitfully filling! The portion seemed small but between the delicious croissants they brought out for everyone and the perfectly crispy patatas, I felt satisfied without feeling too full. The cazuela came with an egg, some prosciutto at the base, and melted cheese. 10/10 would recommend. The open face brunch toast was an excellent combination of prosciutto, eggs, and arugula. The eggs were light and fluffy,which perfectly complimented the crunch of the (foccocia?) bread. The arugula stayed nice and crisp, and the whole flavor palate was nicely rounded out with the lightly salted home fries It was a combo of regular bread and croissant. The bread seemed double dipped because the egg came through nicely. Syrup was light and not too sweet to not overwhelm the flavors. The bacon was perfectly cooked - not greasy at all. The plate also came with a small side of fruit. There was a live musician playing acoustic guitar which really set a chill ambiance. I'm excited to make this a regular brunch spot! They seem willing to switch up the menu and tweak a few things as they get their rhythm down. I do wish the mimosas weren't premixed as they often tasted just like juice (the first one was great and then the other ones were premixed refills) however they use Cava in lieu of champagne which gives a more subtle taste. The most impressive part was the view. 18th floor of the Marriott downtown Orlando. I give it an overall B- I had seen a friend post pix & it looked great. They offer Sunday brunch so I decided to take my daughter there for her birthday. When we arrived, we were shown to a table that retained remnants & crumbs from the previous party. Instead of offering a different table (there were quite a few) we were made to wait while the hostess grabbed a wipe & cleaned it off causing me to glance at the less-than-tidy floor. The server was friendly & efficient. My daughter ordered bottomless mimosas ($22 not horrible) & I asked what type of Bloody Mary mix the bar used but the server didn't know & didn't offer to inquire. I ordered it anyway & it was meh. My daughter ordered the eggs Benedict & said they were quite tasty. Presentation was lacking. LOTS of tater tot-like fries. I ordered the Portobello Panini which was 85% panini but tasty. Lots of tots not so much 'bello'. On my daughter's 2nd mimosa, I ordered the Agave Spritz which was a definite upgrade from the Bloody Mary. After eating we went out to the promenade to take some photos. The ambiance was bustling & positive although the background music was more conducive to a Friday or Saturday night club vibe but I suppose better than elevator music. The AC Marriott is a beautiful hotel. To get to the AC sky bar you have to get to the top floor of the hotel. Every staff member I passed on my way up was exceptionally accommodatable and helpful. I work at a Marriott myself and I'm embarrassed for my own Marriott after leaving this one. Once we were seated at the restaurant I could tell that the restaurant itself is understaffed. Our waiter was very helpful and you could tell he was good at his job he was definitely given way too many tables though. Not his fault but to the fault of the restaurant for not managing properly. I've worked in many restaurants so I can recognize why things aren't going the way they should. as an appetizer I got the beef tips for $14 they tasted delicious but, the presentation in such a small bowl definitely made it seem as if you're not paying for what you're getting. The flatbread was all right. And so is the chicken salad. The energy the ambience is giving does not match the menu here. I personally think they should scrap this menu and come up with something that's just as fun as their drink menu. read more
