I have been taking my trucks to Acccurate Smog Check for several years and am about to take one in for a smog check in a couple of weeks and i know what to expect. Sometimes there is a vehicle or in front of me but i know that by the time i walk around the corner and down the street to starbucks and back they are almost done. I wasn't sure if the car even needed a smog check, and he immediately checked against the online records to confirm I wasn't wasting my money. Smog check took 15 minutes. Finally, I did this smog check as part of buying a car (I know, the seller should have done it - whatever). In any case, my car is due for registration renewal in about 3 months and the guy made sure to tell me to hold on to my certificate and be sure to register immediately when I got my notice, since I'd be able to use the same smog certificate. Cannot even begin to explain how great these guys are! We just bought a truck over the weekend and wanted to get all the DMV paperwork ready for our appointment on Friday. We called early on Tuesday morning in hopes of getting an appointment. After learning that we did not need an appointment, we decided to drive over and see how long the wait was. What wait?! Within an hour, we had the truck ready to go and the Smog paperwork completed/submitted to DMV. Ever notice that great service and a great deal are really hard to find in California now? Well Accurate Smog Check is definitely a gem when you need your car smogged. I had gone in on a Monday afternoon hoping they could get my car done immediately. They were at a wait time of an hour or less. Which is nothing to wait for a smog. But, I couldn't do it that day as I had to pick up my Son. I came back the following morning. The owner and staff recognized me from the day before. Apologized and thanked me for coming back. Which was very kind since really the wait time was not bad to begin with as I mentioned. They got my car in right away. As I waited I noticed how large and comfortable the waiting area is. Very clean with a comfortable couch and chair options. The daily newspaper there to read and cold water available. Car related art and such on the walls. Definitely designed with the customer in mind. My car was finished quickly and the friendly tech came in and said "your car passed no problem." He was nice and engaging and could answer all my O2 Sensor questions. We have three vehicles in our family. Paul and staff made me a customer for life. This place is great - by far the best place for a smog check I've ever been to. There are polite, smart, have a comfortable and quiet waiting room with wifi (not dirty chairs in a loud, noisy shop where cars are being tested like some places), and they make it easy. Although my car hasn't passed several times, due to problems from my major car repair, they took the time to suggest things to check, possible causes and possible solutions. They happen to know the manager and mechanics at the shop I take my car too, so they were happy to also talk directly with him about the issues. They're honest, straightforward and fast. Pricier that most of the places. Chubby latino tech left my car running for 30 min while researched stuff on the Internet, wasted my gas. Failed my car on visual inspection. I understand that's on me but when I asked him a question, he awkwardly shook his head and didn't bother to answer. Another tech was there and they kept talking while the car was running, but they were all secretive. Very bad customer service on the tech side. They guy at the front desk was nice. Both techs talked to after I paid, but before that, they didn't acknowledge that I was even there. Very rude and disrespectful. Word of advice: as soon as you walk in, before you even say hello, mention the $15 off coupon on their website. THEY WILL NOT HONOR THE COUPON IF YOU DON'T MENTION IT RIGHT AWAY. I made that mistake yesterday when the lady at the front desk refused to budge on that even though my car was still in the same parking spot I had left it at and it hadn't even been smogged yet and I hadn't even paid up front so it's not like they had to reimburse me or anything. Being that this is a "family" run business, I figured they'd make an exception to keep me as a customer, especially since it was my first time there. It costs $65 to do a smog at this place and I called around to other places and they were charging $35-$45 with a certificate...they don't price match either. I will not be coming back here...I apparently went in on a bad day or something bc the reviews I read on here mentioned friendly service, fast service, etc...none of which I got.
