Hot honey pepperoni
Binh P.

Had the luck to try Acre after an event at the community center. Initially just got a slice of the roasted broccoli, but because that was so good, decided on getting another slice of hot honey pepperoni and the funghi. All the pizza slices were incredible. The ingredients were flavorful and the thin crust was crispy, yet dissolved without much effort. After splitting 3 slices I didn't feel weighed down at all. Great spot in Sebastopol.

I may have a pizza problem, but I call it love at first site. The pizza here is heavenly and I've only had the basics. I cannot wait to try the specialties. The sizes of the slices are huge and easy to share. There is limited to no seating inside with a few seats outside. They have a fridge with some items you can take to go like sauces, salads and pizza (but a little overpriced). They opened a pasta shop nearby I'd like to try next!

Fresh ingredients for sure and fermented thin crust makes my day with pizza. I just had the 'slice', which is technically two slices (which could equal one large one in some other places) and enjoyed it. Very thin crust, decent toppings though yes, there could be more cheese but at least it wasn't overly greasy. I do need to come back and try more though it is a bit pricey and the weather has to be right to be comfy inside and out. Salads look great and they now have a pasta restaurant next door or close by. No TV if you're looking to watch while you're eating. Counter staff was nice and either shy or just not too friendly. There's a lot going on between phone orders and walk ins so I'll give them a break. Not an over-the-top experience but decent.

Detroit Ranch

I will agree with all of the comments that this place makes the pizzas with very fresh ingredients. However, the pizza we ordered had ranch and chicken and honestly the ranch overpowered the whole pizza. I expected there to be a light drizzle of ranch however, as you can see in the picture, there was literally ranch in every corner of this pizza and it was a little bit too much for me. Now the lemonade was actually really fresh and delicious 10 out of 10. We also got the rice crispy, which was also very good not pictured here, but it is a generous size we were able to share it between two of us, but honestly, you could probably share it between three people. The meatballs were actually pretty good. I was a bit surprised given some places are hit or miss with meatballs. But these were pretty good. Service was OK. I will add that we did pick up so our interaction with the staff was very limited. There is seating outside as well as seating inside from what I saw. It's not your typical pizza shop as it doesn't have a ton of decorations like most pizza places but I still think the spot is pretty cute and aesthetically pleasing, especially for Sebastopol. I will definitely come again, but I don't think I would order the same pizza.

Pizza was so so good. The deep dish was super fluffy and I think the addition of pesto to a ranch pizza was delicious. Only con was we were sitting outside and did not hear our name get called so we were waiting for a while. Even after a wait pizza was still warm and tasted great

Finally came to see what all the fuss is about. So many options , by the slice it pie. I never get Detroit style so I decided to try that. Umm delicious to say the least and very filling. Got the pineapple one and added susage . I'm a huge pizza girl so I can't wait to come back and try the gluten free that so raved about

I do think that this was the best pizza I've ever had. Every aspect was divine. Great flavor in the sauce, crust, cheese. The hot honey pepperoni was so good. The balance of the hot honey was perfect. They had a special of deep fried risotto balls with cheese. OH YEAH if you have the chance, you must try them. The staff was kind. Great outdoor seating to people (and dog!) watch.

This is a small, industrial looking building at the Barlow. Only a few tables outside. I ordered a gluten-free pepperoni, double mushroom pizza with vegan cheese. $50... that's a LOT for a pizza. Mind you, it's a full-size one, though still, that's outrageous. It was very good and I have plenty of leftovers. I'd ordered a salad, though they forgot to bring it, and they did give me a refund. I might come back as a treat, though I can think of other places I'd rather spend $50 at.

This is one of several dining places in the Barlow community and they rely more on ceiling fans than AC. They'll open the garage door at either end of the restaurant for additional cooling in August. That of course means that there will be a couple of flies that are more than happy to join you. We came here for a couple of slices and a salad. It's basically slightly upscale food court mall grub, at a premium price. However, one claim of fame is that they ferment their dough for 72 hours and I like the fact they do have beer on draft. Their salads are super fresh and chocked full of good ingredients. One big plus, is that you can order just a slice of pizza and a drink with or without a salad. That was a deal maker for me since I didn't wanna buy an entire pizza since it was just lunchtime. There's less than 10 tables in the small space inside, but you can dine outside under an umbrella. Your slice of pizza might come out on a paper plate, but the salad comes out on a real one with real silverware. They also offer the option of New York and Detroit style pizza along with plant based/vegan and gluten-free options. Open seven days a week starting at 11:30. Informative photos included.

Need to give a higher than five star rating!! Amazing pizza with fresh ingredients at this pizza place at Barlow in Sebastopol. My family and I came here one evening and enjoyed the ambience with a band concert going on outside. We had a pitcher of beer and ordered the patron pizza which is seasonal and pesto pizza and a slice of broccoli. Amazing crust, patron had great flavors with the olive oil, corn and cheese and the pesto and broccoli pizzas has fresh pesto on it. So so good!

We didn't dine in but ordered through Golden State Cider, which was totally appreciated and convenient for us. Can't say much about the service it was pretty fast for delivery I assume. We tried two different Detroit style pizzas. We wanted one gluten free but pretty sure that we didn't get gluten free in the pineapple jalapeño (it was still good though) paired well with cider. Kids got the pepperoni.

Delicious NY Vegan Fungi (red onions more caramelized than our previous one & way better!)

It's inviting vs the stuffy atmosphere some places have. BABAGANOUSH PITA we got it for the kiddo expecting it to be run of the mill stuff you get. But the babaganoush had the extreme rich flavors of smoked eggplant and felt like almost half an eggplant went in there. Not diluted with tahini, garlic, just pure flavors of eggplant with tanginess of sumac. LITTLE GEM SALAD WITH RAINBOW TROUT was hearty, leafy and very refreshing. The pickled celery was the surprise. HAMACHI CRUDO - beautifully assembled with thoughtfulness, light, refreshing. A bunch of flavor bombs in there so each bite is an adventure. Basil making it refreshing, earthy crunch from hazelnut, sharpness from green onion, sweet tart kiwis. I think a bit of citrus would make this a superstar. Mandolin shaved limes perhaps? GRILLED MAITAKE MUSHROOMS - ok I think this was the chefs most technically impressive dish, with an exercise in playing with bitter profiles and turning it into a master piece. Grilled maitake gets the char from the grill is the first flavor layer, it's woken up by the wild thyme from the zatar. Next the Japanese turnips bring the second dimension with earthy beautiful bitter notes on a bed of a creamy tahini based sauce. It's finished with fresh parsley to bring a fresh element to it. Great stuff. Could raddichio be added to make this more challenging? I saw those crunchy POTATOES and I got them even after eating the meal lol. Do yourself a favor and just get them - they're hot, crunchy and perfect to pair with the vegetables. Finally we got their chocolate mousse with bruleéd bananas sorry couldn't take a picture before it was all gone. Great way to wrap. The staff were all super friendly and helped with picking things from the menu! I got the mystery glass of wine and they had made a fun game out of it. The Beaujolais was great too. Overall when you're surrounded by these amazing farms, vineyards and ocean - no better way than to bring them together - kudos to the creators of the Redwood for making this place with intentionality. I wanted to get the squash, duck pâté, spring pea salad, tinned fish items as well, I guess for next time!

I made a reservation for 6pm on the deck as it had seatbacks and my husband has a bad back and can't sit on a picnic table. It's an elevated section above the beer garden, which that night had a singer with guitar. Service was pleasant though a little slow with drinks but they were pretty busy. We both had margaritas to start, which were $16 plus $3 for call brand so $19 each. Pretty good but not too strong. I then had the Hopmunk hefewisen beer which was only $8, much more reasonable. I had the Biergarten cheeseburger on a pretzel bun, cooked perfectly medium rare. Served with caramelized onions, bacon, smoked Gouda and a beer cheese, it was tasty but pretty messy! Cost was $23 plus I subbed a kale Caesar for $2 which was good but not worth the hype as a little dry. Husband had the grilled mole chicken with mole sauce and Spanish rice for $24. It was a large portion with two pieces of chicken and he enjoyed it. We then saw a show in the stone tavern next to the beer garden. It's an intimate venue with not a bad view in the house. We had seats because my husband is disabled so we're right in the front row. Otherwise it was standing only. Great acoustics and venue. I would go there often if I lived in Sebastopol, as it's right near the Barlow and downtown. Definitely recommend for food, entertainment and atmosphere.

So I've come to hop monk Tavern before, but I've only really had their drinks. However today me…read moreand my friend decided to get food here. We ordered the buffalo wings as well as the steak and frites and their chicken Philly sandwich. The steak plate was pretty good and the wings were also relatively good. The steak does have chimichurri on it and the salad is really good as well or the coleslaw. I can't remember what it came with. The wings taste pretty fresh and they do give you blue cheese and ranch with them, as well as vegetables like carrots and celery. However you are paying $17 for eight wings just a heads up. My friend personally did not enjoy the chicken plate. She felt like the chicken did not taste fresh but quite frankly, we were unable to get our waiters attention throughout our whole time seated there so at the end, we decided to just leave it without saying anything. The service is the reason for the lower rating. I think the food was pretty decent, but the service was not up to par. Service here was mediocre. I will add that I do not say that lightly and I normally do not like saying that about restaurants. I normally understand when service is off if the restaurant is full however this restaurant was pretty empty. At first our server came around twice and then we ordered and once after she brought out the waters. My friend had to ask her twice to bring a lemon for her water because it seems that the server forgot, although from what I could tell, she was really only serving our table and maybe two others. When the food came out I asked if she could refill my water. She said she would be back with more water. However, she literally did not come back until 30 minutes later and that was after my friend had to flag her down and ask her if she could bring us more water. I should also say that this was after we had finished the entire meal, which at that point water was really not necessary. What really pushed the experience over the limit was the server mentioning to us when we were paying that she got off the clock early because it was so slow. Meanwhile I sat there wondering if this was the reason that her service was so awful. While sitting there eating, I did notice that in general service was a problem for this restaurant... I noticed another customer walked in and sat for a while and wasn't spoke to. When he asked them if they were still serving food, he was responded to rudely. I also noticed another customer asked in regard to the menu and another server told him that the menu was over there on the other side without giving any direction. Aesthetically speaking, the spot is really cute. There's a lot of lights. They have a lot of plants however, based on the service, I don't think I would come back here. My friend who has been coming here for many years was actually shocked at how bad the service was today and said that this was pretty abnormal. Who knows maybe it was an off day. Either way after being unattended for more than 30 minutes and ignored it didn't really leave any reason to come back here again.

We ordered 3/4 of the menu items and were super impressed with every item from presentation to layered flavors. Sometimes Thai restaurants are a bit boring and westernized but the flavor here were bold and nicely nuanced. For those sensitive to spice, they also offer to make some dishes half spice. The most impressive dish was the rock fish - it is a full size fish with herb and lime garnishes; the fish was fresh and delicious. My favorite dish was actually the tofu salad - the tofu is actually silken soft on the inside as promised - and surrounded by lots of fresh herbs and citrus. The drunken noodles also stood out as non-typical with excellent wok heat to give it a deep umami flavor. Service was casual and non-intrusive but also very friendly and attentive. I appreciated the proactive extra napkins for our dish and was impressed by how they handled a huge pain in the butt customer sitting next to us who literally complained about every single dish. They patiently took her complaints and offered her alternatives while I admittedly wondered why the customer even bothered to eat a Thai restaurant at all, I felt bad for the staff but they handled it so professionally. There is plenty of dedicated parking in their shared lot. This is definitely a favorite restaurant I will return to next time I'm in town.

I started with the Thai iced tea with coconut cream and cardamom. I loved that it wasn't overly sweet or super milky like some Thai teas can be. The cardamom came through nicely, and the coconut flavor worked really well with it. We started with the vegetable dumplings, which were not what I expected but in the best way. They were almost like a deconstructed dumpling with noodle sheets and spring onions that you wrapped in lettuce leaves. The chili oil was really rich and added a lot of flavor to each bite. We also shared the pad Thai. It also came deconstructed with fish sauce, vinegar, sugar, and other seasonings on the side so you could mix everything to your liking. It was a fun presentation but I wasn't quite sure how much of each ingredient to add. Overall, I enjoyed both the food and the atmosphere.
