Adem is really friendly and got the job done quickly. He even checked my oil and let me know I was low and what kind of oil to get which I already knew but it was nice of him to even tell me. Would go again! read more

I showed up without an appointment on a Saturday morning and Adem was very cordial and let me know that it would take a while to get to my SUV because there was a vehicle ahead of me that required more attention. I was able to observe that he was worked alone and was moving as fast as he could to complete the testing on an older, very large van. It was definitely not your typical passenger car. Amazingly, it passed! Once he got to me he was swift and efficient, and even checked my oil and air pressure for good measure. He threw in a discount for my wait. Highly recommended! read more

Mr. Adem was very kind and helpful through my smog check process. His waiting room was comfortable and his dog was precious. (Dog was not in waiting room.) Thank you very much, Mr. Adem. read more

Quick, fair service. Aden is a professional and shared interesting facts about history of smog checks, the technology etc. while the test was running. read more

My 1995 Ford F150 needed help. It didn't initially pass smog. Adem helped me with some great things to try. Always nice and helpful, he guided me to some very helpful tips and solutions. When it was decided that I needed two new catalytic converters, he referred me to a honest and professional muffler shop. This whole process could have been difficult and expensive, but Adem ended up saving me BIG money. I actually learned a lot about the whole smog certification process too! His knowledge and years of experience saved the day (and yes, a lot of $$$). Thank you so much!!! read more

Is my second time coming to get smog check on my car! I recommend a 100% . Mr Adem is really nice and attentive and the best part is getting to watch some tv while waiting :) read more

Adem's Test Only - Waiting area. - Smog Check Stations Near Me - San Jose, California

Very friendly and fast. Waiting room has comfy couch seating. Adem let me know my oil was a little low and would need changing soon, but wasn't pushy about anything. This is now my go-to smog place. read more

I should have made this review a long time ago, it is past due. But we have been going to Adem's for two of our vehicles for more then a couple of years. Besides being inexpensive, he gives the best prompt service whether you have an appointment or just walk-in (like the first time I went). His extra advises on your car's condition like oil, etc. are very helpful. A very modest guy yet great service! read more

I have been coming here since I got my first car at 16 years old. 9 years later, I am still coming to see Adem and I am sure that my family and friends do as well. He is very fast, reasonably priced, and a great person all around. I am happy to come to Adem's Test Only in San Jose, despite living in Menlo Park. Great shop, amazing service. Happy to support a local business. read more

Great Service ! Professional, friendly, fair.

Adem is the biggest darling ever. I actually look forward to getting a smog check because he is just that fabulous. Thank you DMV for introducing me to Adem, one of the nicest guys on the planet! read more

This is my 2nd time coming to this joint for my smog check and glad that I came to get it done here. Adem is the owner of the place and runs the show as well. I was on my way to his shop and got lost with the help of my GPS. But once I turned my car around, I saw a man waving to me. And sure enough it was good 'ol Adem himself explaining the way to his shop. Adem is definitely honest and gets the job done in a timely manner. Thank you Adem for your speedy service, I'll be back! read more

It's a litle confusing to get there, the entrance is actually on 1654 Almaden road. Service was fast and at a good price. 48 bucks total. Owner was friendly and the place has a homie mom and pop feeling with couches and magazine. He even sat down first to ask how I was doing for a nice friendly chat and complimented my miata as well. Oh and it's like 5 mins from the DMV which is convenient cuz I just went straight there to pick up my sticker afterwards See you guys in two years and thanks for the efficient service. read more

The other reviews have pretty much covered it. I added a photo which may prove helpful in finding the place. There's a gigantic cell tower right behind his shop which you can use as an easy to see landmark. Yeah, a little hard to find the first time, but think of it as a treasure hunt well worth the final reward. Adem himself is a delight and is just as comfortable discussing current international affairs as he is telling slightly off-color jokes! read more

I had just gotten an Oil Change at Aikens, when they recommended Adems for my Smog Check. They called Adem and he could take me right away. I drove over and did get a bit lost, and as others have mentioned use the Almaden address rather than Lano Street. Adem is a super nice guy and before he even put my car up on the test, he walked around checking tire pressure, oil levels and checking out the engine. I was only there for 20 min, very fast and efficient, and a fair price. Now the car is 10 years old and 100K, I'll have to get a Smog Check every year, and I will come back here every time. It was a pleasure doing business with Adem! read more

Who would think that getting your car smogged could be such a great experience! Mr. Adem is a real professional and amazingly knowledgeable. My registration was due in a day and with the coronavirus, I didn't know if he'd be open because of the lockdown, but he took us right away and got everything done thoroughly and efficiently. Most important, you just know that he's honest and won't try to take advantage of you or push. It was such a pleasant experience -- I wouldn't go anywhere else. read more

Brought my Mercedes here and though it was hard to find it was a good experience once I made it. The prices are very reasonable ($48 - much lower than other places) and the owner, Adem, is very nice and knowledgeable. The place also has good magazines to read while you're waiting (though he works pretty quickly). Adem even offered to let me take a magazine with me when I left! Hard to find good and trustworthy people in the automotive industry but Adem is definitely one of them. I would recommend this place for your next smog test! read more

This guys is amazing..He is very knowledgeable, modest, friendly and goes extra mile and advises or warns about the things that your car need. He is truly passionate about what he does and how he does. if you think that smog check is simple process that does not need many expertise, next smog check visit him to see what you find out about your car. This type of businesses should be praised and rewarded. Thank you very much, I really appreciate your advises that I received from you for my Yukon. read more

I took my car to this place to get it Smogged. The place was a little hard to find ... must get here using the 1654 Almaden address rather than 419 Lano Street. Adem was very thorough with the entire procedure. He also, checked the Engine Oil Level and the tire pressure on all the four tires of my car. There were no delays or un-necessary waiting involved. Adem went about everything in a very meticulous and professional manner. Overall i had a very good experience at this Test Only station. I highly recommend it! read more

Best rates, best service, the type of place you would send your grandmother too. Adem is simply a class act and one of a kind. Year after year he is always friendly, professional, and thorough. My wife and I have been going here for many years. This is the only place to go for your smog test in San Jose. One example: The first time my wife tried to bring her car here by herself she got lost. She called Adem, and not only did he help... he drove out of his shop and drove around the area until he found her. Adem and his shop just goes way above and beyond what you would expect. He also has provided us with great referrals to other auto service providers (like Akin's Auto Repair, who has been a life saver) and also local restaurants. This is the only place to go for smog tests. read more

I don't leave reviews. This guy is the best. Reasonably priced, amazing service, sweetest man.

Good service, quick, and friendly. You can't ask for much more than that! Note that the entrance to Adem's is on Almaden Road (not Expwy), not on Lano St. read more

Adem is a wonderful human. He's kind, easy going, and does an amazing job of explaining the process. When we ran into a mid-test hiccup, he walked me through how to address it and was able to retest the car with no issues. Fast, friendly, competent, and a good price ($48). Enter from Almaden road, not Almaden expressway as noted. Garage 1 Auto (indispensable for Subaru owners) is right next door and they'll coordinate with Adem to do your smog check while they change your oil. read more

Adem was recommended to me by my Corvette mechanic, Kevin at Corvette Connection. I've brought my corvette to Adem and my TransAm. Adem is very courteous and knows his job. Adem's Test Only - Smog Check Stations Near Me - San Jose, California

I dropped in and he told me that he had 3 appt customers in front of me and if I wanted to wait, he would take me. This was at 2:30pm and he closes at 3pm. I waited and he took care of me. Granted, I didn't leave till 4pm, but my truck is smogged and if he is still there when I need another smog, I'm going back! Adem is a very nice guy and the price was reasonable. Thanks Adem! read more

Came here for a smog inspection to salvage a recently totaled car. Adem is very knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. Had a great time chatting with him while he smogged my car. I can tell his a good, honest man. Sometimes one ends up dealing with crooked smog technicians who look forward to one's car failing -- Adem is not such a person. I would definitely recommend Adem's Test Only to my friends. I had budgeted all of one afternoon to get my brake and headlamp inspection, a smog, and a trip to the DMV to finish the process and, thanks to Adem, I had a successful day. read more

If you have any problems getting smog for an older car like my 1987 Acura Integra, then you need to see Adems, he's the" real deal"! I wish I would have seen him earlier I would have save lots of money and headache's! Don't waste your time and money with smog guys that take you for a ride and after you fail the test tell you don't know what to do with you now. Adems is the one spot smog doctor!, if he can't pass you then he will tell you why and the best route to getting what need fixing to pass. I can't thank you enough Adems!!!!! JB read more

I had a great experience at this Smog Testing shop. I was referred there by "Cash For Cars". Adem is very friendly, and just seems to have a great welcoming personality. I had my kids along, and we waited together in the waiting area on the comfy couch, and chair that he has, along with a great selection of magazines, cold water from the water cooler, and I saw coffee supplies there too. (We didn't wait long at all :) He had a few note cards and letters posted on the wall that were sent from customers, who sent him "Thank You's" for his great service. He seems to be a real genuine nice guy, that I would definitely do business with again in the future (if I'm in the area -- since I live in Morgan Hill, it's not convenient for me). I would also refer friends there :) As for the location... it was slightly confusing at first. When you arrive at the exact address, you actually need to drive around the block and enter from the back-side. The entrance is off of Almaden Rd., by Stone Ct. There is a large sign posted at the entrance, once you drive around the block... and easy to find. read more

adem's was great, took my car in for smog check, adem was able to get the testing completed in 30mins, very friendly, I will bring my car in again in 2 years. Entrance is on almaden road, no on lana st. read more

What an absolute pleasure it was to do business with this shop. I called at the end of the day fully expecting to be told to schedule an appointment for another day but was pleasantly surprised when told I could come at 5:30pm that day! Upon arrival I was greeted courteously and my '98 Chevy pickup was taken into the shop. Even though my truck has always passed smog checks with no problem, it does have 225K+ miles on it now and I was crossing my fingers hoping for no surprises. The technician (Adem?) was personable while performing/explainig the checks and even told a funny joke. Nearing completion of the smog check, he told me my truck passed with flying colors and tested like a vehicle at 20K miles. :) I love my truck!! I would recommend this shop without hesitation! read more

It is one of those commoditized services, however owner Adem makes a difference with his fast turnaround, reasonable price, and friendly approach. His motto is to keep the earth clean, and I respect that very much, definitely recommend hia place read more

Very friendly, reasonable prices, and always able to take my car with very little notice. He's saved the day a couple of times when I've needed a smog check last-minute in order to quickly sell a car. Adem is my go-to for smog checks! read more

Took the Beast in for its smog only test and it passed. I knew it would but it was nice to have Adem tell me that it is the CLEANEST older K5 he has ever tested. It was actually pleasant to have the smog done and most of you know it sucks to have to put out the extra money but we ain't go no choice. And when you go and wait at a shop with out any seating area and they are back up and slow it sucks even more. But here you got comfy couches, tv and magazines. This time while waiting I met "Uncle" who was a very sweet man and such a joy to visit with and made the time pass even faster. So bring it to Adem's Test Only the next time you need a smog. read more

Adem is very customer oriented. He is very detailed and very helpful. He is always looking out for his customers.

Had a great experience here today! Adem is the only one working, but he'll take good care of you. He did a quick inspection around the car while it was being smogged and gave me a heads up about upcoming maintenance that I should keep an eye out for. He also inflated all the tires to the correct pressure and gave me some tire valve caps when he noticed I was missing some. He said "I would appreciate it if someone did the same for me". Great words to live by and even greater service for the price. Would definitely recommend! read more
