Upon reading several good yelp reviews and being in the area I decided to give this place a shot. I called told it would take sometime due to people bringing their cars in during lunch. The place is a little hidden so be on the lookout. Once I made it, I was again told it would be awhile. It was a short wait. Car passed with flying colors. The owner(I'm assuming) was very outgoing, nice, and made small talk. He's an honest guy. Can't say enough about this place! If you're ever in the need for honest quality work, while supporting the little guy, then this is your place! read more

Fast & efficient! Adem fit me in between appointments on 30 minutes notice & was done before the next appointment even arrived. Adem, you are AWESOME! read more

I've had two separate vehicles smogged at Adem's shop and he is nothing short of spectacular. He takes pride in what he does and cares about each customer that comes in. Adem is realistic about his quoted times and goes out of his way to explain any issue for a failed smog. His shop is my new go-to place for a smog and I find myself recommending his shop whenever I have a friend in need. Go to Adem; you will not be disappointed! read more

I've been going to Adem for over ten years and he never disappoints! He is trustworthy and a master in his craft! If you want an honest and hardworking smog tester look no further and visit Adem! read more

I called Adem's after being referred to by another great mechanic who owns Akins on Keyes St. I was able to come in without an appointment for a test and was surprised to find out how friendly and very knowledgeable Mr. Adem was. He even came out of left field with a funny joke lol. I would highly recommend Adem's to any one looking to do a smog check. read more

Not sure how to add to what has already been said here about Adem, so I'll just say the same thing with different words. Smog testing is one of those things where there's not a lot of room for variance in the procedure itself, so how do test places differentiate themselves? Adem is all about customer service and makes it a pleasure to do business here. In an age when service is usually dropped in favor of low margins, high throughput, or some other fast-food consumerism technique, this is a welcome change. I Recommend Adem over any other place in the San Jose Area. This Man is real and genuine. I know you will be happy with him read more

The guy that I usually go to lost his Star certification and he referred me to Adem. Top notch guy and always cracking jokes. My 1993 Ford Truck failed on its first run, and Adem gave me a couple of tips and told me to check the EGR Valve Sensor. Sure enough, the sensor was faulty. Swapped out the old one for a new, came back a couple of days later and the truck passed. read more

What a great experience I had with Adem!! I wish all service people were like Adem! He checked my oil and showed me how low I was. He told me what oil to get and he filled my oil. He also suggested what type of gas to use to prevent my catalytic converter from going out, which is an expensive repair. He was a wealth of information, not to mention my Smog test was done in less than 25 minutes! He was so friendly and knowledgeable. I will definitely go again and highly recommend Adem's Test Only. Thanks Adem! read more

Adem is a very honest and polite person. He runs the place and is very good. I barely passed and he recommended me what I should do to my car. Thank you Adem! I will definitely be coming back and refer my friends to you also! Keep up the good job! read more

Adem is the best! I am a repeat customer and this time was getting a smog test to sell my vehicle. He greeted me like an old friend and added a bit of joy to what could have been an inconvenient errand. Thanks Adem! read more

Adem is amazing! Him and his staff are super helpful and they provide quick service, I can not recommend them enough!

I love Adem's Test Only smog check. I've been going to him for the past three years and it's always a sigh of relief when I go to him because I know that he cares about me and the business that I give him, he is honest which I feel is a quality that is increasingly hard to find in this economy, and he has great pricing. I once had a great conversation about oil and pollution and with him and I saw his passion for a cleaner environment, one can tell that he truly love's his job. read more

Adem is awsome !! such a hard working, kind & funny man. my moms honda would not pass by 1 point. he told us to keep driving it on the freeway to help clear out the clogged catalytic converter. It worked and the car finally passed. I highly recommend him. read more

I've been going to Adem for a decade or two now, and he always gives good service. He is quick, efficient and thorough. This time he even filled my tires and checked my oil. I'm also impressed that the place is kept quite clean. It is swept and free of oil stains. In my opinion, someone who is diligent about his workspace is meticulous about his work. read more

The guy who owns the shop has the greatest customer skills I have seen. I brought my car to get the smog check and he noticed something wrong so he did not want to run the test to avoid having a dent in my car's carfax. The guy is from Turkey I believe, he is an older dude who takes great care of his clients and he showed me what his priorities were by not forcing a smog check test that was going to fail and would have put an extra $60 in his pocket. read more

Polite, professional, and quick service. Been coming here for years and would highly recommend it. Thanks Adem!

I've been using Adem for over 20 years now. I was a car dealer for 12 years and Adem was the go to smog shop for all of us cheap dealers because his price was right. More important than that, when a car didn't pass, Adem would know why it didn't pass and tell us how to fix it. Don't waste your time with incompetent smog shops. Adem still does a lot of dealer work, that's why his location is a little off the beaten path. Thank you Adem for all the years of great service you've done for me and my family. Richard V. Adem was refered to me by friends who is a mechanic (Aydin) & from an auto shop (Jerald). Adem did my Smog Test this morning; my Honda Accord 2004. I was pleased with his timing, price, professionalism, friendliness, & clean area for the customers to sit & relax. I 100% recommend him. read more

Adem was friendly and courteous. The process was timely. Price was great. It was great experience!!!

I took my car to Adem because his shop is very close to my house. This is the first year my car has needed smog so I had no other experience with smog shops, however, when calling around checking prices, some of the shops seemed kind of shady... Telling me if I brought my car in that day they would give me some great deal: $30 off my smog check! Only $50 out the door!! $80 at regular price???? I don't freakin think so. I showed up at Adems shop in the middle of the day on a Saturday. He was working on another car when I came, but he acknowledged me immediately and gave me a time estimate of how long it would be. He was very prompt and friendly. As I was waiting, I looked around the office and noticed a diploma on the wall. Adem has a masters degree in engineering from Berkley!!! I asked him what the heck he was doing smog for... And he told me the whole story. He used to design huge ships. But he traveled a lot and didn't see his family much. When his company was purchased by an outfit in Paris, he decided he didnt want to uproot his family, and he didn't want to leave them either. So he quit his engineering job and opened his own small smog business at home. What an amazing, selfless decision!!! I will definitely always use Adem for my smog needs from now on, I have tons of respect for him and admire the friendly, honest service I received! read more

Friendly, competant, and excellent with detials. I would gladly recommend this place to smog your auto.

Was recommended by my buddy to come here for a smog. Adem is a honest, nice, awesome and straight to the point. I'll be coming here from now on for all my vechicles. read more

Adem called me at home today and explained that the original invoice showed a different amount from my copy. I attributed it to writing sloppy numbers since everybody else reviewing his company paid the same amount as I did. Adem even offered a reimbursement of $6.00 but I just thanked him for calling me and for running an honest business. read more

Adem's Test Only, is a Professional Company with Excellent Customer Service. Straight forward & well-knowledgeable on all types of automobiles, with no run arounds. They are very reasonably priced, and I wouldn't take my vehicle anywhere else. A majority of Smog Stations out there just go through the motions, treating you like some kind of an assembly line prop, having no human interaction. Not here at Adem's Test Only, here you feel like family. That's important to me, Respect. p.s. This isn't some stupid ass paid written review. I'm a real damn person writing a Real Yelp Review. You know it, Fool ! read more

Adem is a sweet man. I've been getting my smog checks from him for the last 5 years or so. He'll also check my oil and water every time just to make sure that I'll be safe. He'll go the extra mile for you even though he doesn't need too. So all in all, Adem is very knowledgeable and he has great work ethics that's why I gave him the 5 stars. read more

TOP NOTCH. The price was by far the lowest in town and Adam, the owner, made me feel right at home. This is the only place I will take my cars and will recommend that my neighbors and family do the same. read more

A little hard to get to, but definitely worth it. We were quoted $75 for a smog test by another shop, so it was great to come here and get it for $40. Owner Adem was very friendly and informative, he was able to answer all of our questions. When we first called he even told us that our car was exempt and that we didn't need to get the test, willing to be honest even if it keeps business from him gives him super high marks. Though we did end up having to get it, as it's an out of state car. Fast and close to the DMV, yay! read more

Adem is very nice, quick and up-front. Price is right, just tell them you saw them on Yelp. I called them late Saturday afternoon to see if they were open on Sunday and Adem said "come now, I'm open and here." So I did and he got me done right away. Ask him about Turkey and he'll tell you enough to really make you want to go. read more

Stand up guy that does everything in his power to help the consumer. He is honest and knowledgeable about the exhaust system. My car was having some trouble passing and he was sympathetic as well helpful with what might improve my chances of passing; yep not an easy place to find, but I will be going back to him. read more

Everything about this place is great! The man who runs the place has fantastic customer service skills and was very nice and friendly but not overly so. He got me in and out in 15 minutes even though he had a busy morning. Mentioned I found him on Yelp and he gave me a discount. Also note the entrance is on Almaden Road. I will definitely be back in two years! read more
