Nice place, good food. You'll love it. Lake George is a fun place to visit, a little campy but nice.

My family and I stopped in here while we were in town. We were a large group without reservations…read moreso there was an adequate wait (of about twenty minutes), but there was a beautiful sitting area where we were allowed to comfortably wait while enjoying drinks from the bar. Inside, the place is massive. Seating options seem to span two levels, featuring both indoor and outdoor seating. We were seating at a large table by a curtained patio with views of the lake, which was perfect for our gigantic party (plus a dog). The food came out promptly, and a few stars quickly emerged. The seafood pasta was an absolute hit, as was the beautiful summer salad with berries. Everything else at our table was received just as well, and it was wonderful to dine with such a fine view. Also, shout out to our amazing server, Chloe! As we were being shown to our table, our hostess told us, "You guys will have the best server." And she was right! Chloe was so helpful, and patient with our big group, and especially kind with the kiddos at our table.

I love a good waterfront view and the massive multi level porch didn't disappoint. They also offer plenty of interior space decorating in a nautical theme which gives you a feeling you're on vacation, as most probably were. All three of us stared with their signature blue piña coladas and calamari. Drinks were amazing, calamari was tasty. After that I went with their smash burger which had surprisingly thick beef patties, so very delicious and filling. I look forward to returning here soon and definitely give them

Visiting Lake George for an overnite, my wife and I chose Charlie's for their menu selections and…read morereasonable pricing. We were pleasantly surprised with both the high food quality and friendly, efficient service. Seated outside at a comfortable table we shared an excellent crab cake with our cocktails. The 'Lake George Punch', was very nice. Our server, Jack, was on his game & could give lessons on on unobtrusive high quality table service with a smile and some pleasant conversation. The pulled chicken tacos and crab stuffed haddock were both excellent! Flavor, texture, doneness all top notch. We were caught up in the details of sauces, rice, and wonderful harcort verts (can't just call them a side of green beans). Unexpected in a hotel restaurant in a touristy area. All in all, with the July evening breeze blowing off the lake, a slice of lake view, and the bustling fellow visitors putting on a show just for us.... It was a very nice experience.

However, food came out very slow. Nachos were good and we enjoyed most of our entrees. Someone else had the rib eye which we would absolutely not recommend. Upon further review, we all felt that the food was a bit salty, but worked in a pinch when we were hungry. Overall, just okay.

If you're looking to feed a large group of people in Saratoga, and you want to sit by the water,…read moreThe Lagoon is an eminently solid choice. The menu is massive, and so you should easily be able to find something for everybody...unless that person is looking for something super healthy. The Lagoon has burgers, and pizza, and lobster boats, and fish and chips, and four kinds of mac and cheese, and the appetizer list consists of all the things, fried: brussels sprouts, mozzarella wedges, wings, and more. We ordered all three of those fried things I mentioned to start, buffalo mac and cheese, a pizza, fish and chips, a cheesesteak, chicken fingers and a Greek salad. Our server was super bubbly and brought us all the sauces and drinks and everything else we asked for. It isn't going to blow you away with their culinary innovation, but The Lagoon hits a certain spot, and can seat your whole party with a view. I'd do it again.

The staff would congregate in a…read morecorner inside and someone would only venture out to the patio if there was food to deliver to a table, but you would have difficulty getting their attention even as they were walking back. Ordered was the poutine, a turkey club, and the hot buttered lobster roll. I came here for the poutine, a previous review had been very complimentary. I was underwhelmed, the gravy was thin, the cheese and tenderloin scarce. I will give the fries credit, crispy and seasoned, they were a solid base. Being so close to Canada, I'd expect better. The club was loaded up with dry turkey and not enough mayonnaise to help balance that out, but again the tots were crispy and seasoned so they were a gem, possibly the best thing here (and that's not a compliment because they're clearly a prepackaged product). The lobster in the lobster roll was chewy and dry, the roll was crispy but it was as though they had made garlic bread with a hot dog bun, then shoved some sad lobster bits in it. The coleslaw was drenched in dressing, but bland enough that I ate it for some texture and filling after being left wholly unsatisfied by my roll. All in all, I get the impression this restaurant relies solely on the lake, and their proximity to giving you a view while you eat, almost entirely to distract from a subpar performance in every other aspect of restauranting.
