Our first visit today. We move to NB and like to try new places. Late lunch with my wife and teen daughter. We were seated in empty area of the bar next to a dirty table. We waited some time for waitress and hinted that our table was odd as there were several available in main dining. We ordered queso and chips. We should have left after tasting the bland cheese dip. But girls were hungry. I asked to move out of the empty bar with loud music and still dirty table.... We ordered shrimp enchiladas, tortilla soup and grilled tacos. And a side of fresh corn tortillas. The tortillas are awesome but the enchiladas and soup were terrible and the girls barely ate. Waitress made no comment about the full plates and bowls left. Very disappointing lunch at Adobe cafe. Maybe an off day, but $50 lighter and girls not happy. read more

My beef fajitas were good, the only thing that was different was that I got a lot of onions and they were not cooked or should I say they were not transparent. Terrible service. When we first walked in we waited for a couple of minutes at the unattended host stand. Once we finally saw someone we asked if we needed to wait to be seated and we were quickly cut off, "hold on". No problem. Then another server was walking by and says, "Excuse me". Fine. We can get out of the way. But then she repeats herself a littles louder with attitude, "Excuse me!" followed with an eye roll. Absolutely unnecessary. Mind you the restaurant wasn't even half full. Lastly we were told we could wait outside for an outside table to become available. We were told a table had already tabbed out so it would be ours as soon as they left. We sat outside and watched that table leave and then stared at the empty table with dirty dishes for about 20 minutes. Then we watched as another family was sat down at that table. Mistakes happen but this place was just rude. Needless to say after 30 minutes at a less than half full restaurant we decided to take our business elsewhere. This is the spicy, sloppy, cheesy Tex Mex I have been looking for ever since we moved to New Braunfels! The chili relleno wasn't like any I've had (the spicy meat filling is piled on top of the fried poblano pepper instead of on the inside) but was still very tasty and rich with just the right amount of heat. I opted for the queso instead of the red sauce on mine and it was delectable. Husband got the fajita nachos and said they were excellent. Came with the same rich queso on top instead of shredded cheese and really excellent guacamole. Large order was way more than he could finish. Rice and beans are standard but good. All the chips and hot sauce you can eat and both are pretty good. We went at happy hour and I had a completely acceptable house margarita that cost all of $3.00. Atmosphere is standard, casual, Tex Mex restaurant (no patio or outdoor seating - only tables, no booths that we saw). They do have a large, separate bar area. Even with a full house, the noise level was low enough to afford dinner conversation. The service was excellent. Our server, Taylor, was on point. There when we needed him, invisible when we didn't. Also noticed that they have a drive through window for take out orders. I can see this place becoming a regular stop for us. read more

I ordered chicken fried steak. about 30 minutes went by when they bring our food out. my wifes looked good yet they bring me chicken fried chicken. I had to call a manager out seeing the waiter couldn't be found. he took it back and after watching my wife eat her dinner 25 minutes passed . they finally bring my chicken fried steak out it was soaked in grease as was the fries. so I call the manager back out told him look he said its greasy and nasty looking . told him forget it I will go else where to eat. he said just pay for my wifes beer which was 3.50 the waiter showed up with the bill I gave him a 20.00 bill to pay. he brings back 4.00 change and walked away .I called the manager again told him the deal he looked at it and told me the waiter looked at it wrong and finally get my right change both the waiter and manager needs to learn to count money 3.50 - 20.00 = 16.50 so we will not go back in there nasty and crooked ppl run it . read more

My wife and I went there for lunch today. The chips and queso were good. My wife ordered the chicken tortilla soup and I ordered the #1 plate which had chicken enchiladas, a beef taco, and a chalupa with rice and beans. First, my wife's "clean" fork had dried cheese stuck on it. The tortilla chips in the soup were soggy. Real Mexican places put the chips seconds before its brought to the table. But of course this place markets itself as "tex mex", so there you have it. To top things off...her soup was not hot!! It was at room temp. Let me emphasize, when soup is brought to the table its supposed to be HOT, or at least steam coming from it. My beef taco had no seasoning, even taco bell can do better. The rice was bland. If I had a choice to put no stars I would. The service here was absolutely ridiculous.. food took longer than necessary to bring out. Asked multiple times what a friend and I ordered after the rest of our parties plates were brought out. Once we got our food, 10 minutes later, it was wrong. Waiters are running around without any order of what is going on. A tip was automatically taken, which I understand for the size of the party, but they separated the us, and got separate checks. Approximately $5 was taken from each separate check. Waited an additional 10min just for credit cards and change to be returned. Staff was completely rude. Only polite ones were Patricia and Michael. Christopher was rude, Manager said military discount couldn't be applied only if in uniform. WILL NEVER RETURN AGAIN. read more

Went in last week to eat dinner. Not busy at all. We were seated & it took 10 minutes for someone to even bring us chips & salsa, but no water, actually didn't even ask if we wanted any, just scurried away. The waitress still never came to greet us nor take our drink order. BTW, she had 2 other tables that she was waiting on. I did not observe that she was so busy, & why she let us sit for such a long time. Why she did not come by & at least take the drink order, no justifiable reason I can see. Her station was not loaded w/full tables, just 2 & they already had their food. Had numerous other wait staff walk by, even the manager. Do not understand how a manager, is not attentive to customers being seated and just letting them sit at a table, with no water, drinks, or chips & salsa. If the others that I was with, hadn't been so hungry, we would have walked out. Food was marginal, queso runny/thin, drinks seemed watered down, had to "ask" for refills of salsa & chips...service stunk, and will never come back. Suggest, manager trains the waitstaff to be more attentive to incoming customers. Or manager take the initiative to see that customers are started w/chips & salsa, water... instead of walking around with self importance. We have been eating here for 6-7years now and we still go back. The food and service are decent. The prices aren't bad either.

We have dined inside and gotten food to go and on all occasions we have received the correct food ordered and it was tasty. The prices are good. The service was good or above average. My boyfriend likes mole sauce so that is a plus. On occasion at the drive thru we have had to reheat the enchiladas once we got home with them but that is no big deal. The portions are adequate.
