The alert chime in my car always makes me jump. It makes me think my engine is about to fail. But all my car wanted was a long tall drink because I've been using the wipers a lot to get the salt off the windshield. Luckily wiper fluid is an easy fix. Dennis saved the day! Car wouldn't turn over-dead battery. Got a jump to get me to Advance Auto Parts. Called AAP from their parking lot, explained problem (had two small grandchildren in the car). Dennis told me of battery options. I selected the best DieHard battery. Dennis came out to the parking lot, installed the new battery. We didn't even have to get out of the car on a very hot day. Dennis' customer service was over and above my expectations. He knew I was a stressed grandma and was so kind, helpful and efficient with installing the new battery. The one guy who can't explain right when can a battery needs replacement with such conceit - tells you you're dealing with a wrong guy or a poor management selection of staff .... Either needs training or needs elimination.... He has with him the equipment to check out the battery remaining life . So i came in at 2050 today inquiring is they replace battery. This guy answered yes, but he can't because he only have 10 minutes left to close.... so i asked how many hours does it take to replace a battery... He said it depends there are model that needs 2 hours due to electrical/computer situation ... I have 2006 RX400H... I told him how about this particular vehicle ... He insist it depends, and continue to narrate the same explanation .... (I was anticipating with the vehicle infront of him - he should be knowledgeable right of the bay.) Came to this location to pick up a few items for a car project I'm working on. A first glance I thought I would be in and out quickly but to my surprise everything was hard to find and not in the right location. I had to figure out how much things costed myself. Also staff was either outside or in back most of the time when I needed help. I will give them another chance in the future. Hopefully they get things organized. read more

So, I'm driving down Dempster St. and see the Advance Auto Parts sign. I needed windshield washer fluid, so I stopped in. I walked to the front door and saw that it was a new store and wasn't open until the very next day. I started to turn around just as a gentleman walked up behind me and asked me what I needed. I told him and he said "we don't open until tomorrow, but we might be able to help you." He opened the door and let me in. I found my windshield washer fluid and was greeted by another gentleman who asked if I had cash (as they couldn't charge a credit card before the store was officially open). I had enough for one bottle so I put back the second I had grabbed. He then asked how many I needed. I told him I needed two and he gave me two of them for a reduced price, asking that I tell four of my friends about the new store. It's rare anymore to find genuine businesses and genuine business-operators that offer genuine customer service because they truly don't know how to do otherwise. This was one of those rare moments. I applaud this establishment for the experience I had today. I know that I'll never go to another location when I need auto parts or supplies, and neither should you. To start off I made an appointment at 12. I went to the wrong location but called this location immediately and he said no problem see you soon! I got there exactly at 12:30. Walked in the guy at the desk said ok I'll be over in a minute to speak with you. I'm sitting here at the tall table for over an hour and he has spoken to everyone but me. My case had been sitting not been touched yet. I finally pack my stuff and stand up. He proceeded to ask me what I was here for.... AGAIN???? I had already done that and he never came to talk to me. So he then says oh it will be done in 30 min. It's 2:30 I came back and now he's not here!!!!!! HE DOESNT EVEN CALL ME TO TELL ME ITS DONE AND READY!!! He apparently left for 15 plus minutes. My car is done and sitting there and the other guy who came out says he doesn't know how to do check outs!!!! So then what is the point of only having one person know how to work the computer??!!??? Wow what a horrible experience at this store. Went in for a simple return for a warrantied part that had failed after just a few months. Manager gave me dirty looks and treated me as if I was trying to pull a scam, even though I had a receipt and proof of my order. He even accused me of stealing!! Never before have I seen such rude and awful customer service, from a manager no less! I used to be a frequent customer, now I will never go back. Picked up a pair of 1.5" sockets (hard to find). When you need an auto part right away...this place solves the problem.

They had a oil change special for 24.99 and then they try to burn you on the oil filter by saying it's more then 5.99 so you can't have the special price and then I said I'm gonna go somewhere else and they are like ok so off I went to Pepboys and got a better deal for 23.99 sorry advance just lost a good patron!!!poor customer service!! read more

I cant say I have a single positive thing to say about this store despite giving them many chances. I have an older car, but its really no excuse for incorrect parts. I have ordered an alternator, serpentine belts, and brake pads (3 separate transactions over the last year) and all of the parts have been wrong. Whatever I just stopped shopping here. The icing on the cake was the brake pads. No joke I returned the brake pads, handed them the receipt, and never saw the credit on my debit card. The corporate office said they would handle it and never did. I ended up disputing the charges with my bank. Fuck this store! read more

Overall a great experience at this store. Received plenty of good advice from a couple of the guys who work there from behind the counter one of which seemed to have great knowledge about aftermarket parts for my nissan "said he owned plenty of them in the past" think his name was Pete or Paul. I ordered a part online for pickup at this store. When I arrived, the part was not available and could not be found. Store personnel called another store and they confirmed the part was available. I traveled about 5 miles to the other store and they had the part but the package was open and previously used. No others in stock. What a waste of time. I will never order another part from advance. Called customer support the next day and they were of no help. Response was that the inventory is not correct in the stores. Advance should not be selling parts on line offering free store pick-up without absolutely making sure it is available for pick-up. Ending up ordering it from Amazon. read more

Besides the dealer and 1 one other local service provider found on the web, Advance Auto was the only shop with the correct battery in stock for my 2008 Hyundai Elantra. Their battery was cheaper than either of the othe rbatteries; it's replacement warranty was as long as the total OEM warranty; its CCA was 100 amps more than the OEM battery. Advance Auto claims to install batteries for free. The claim is true - my offer of a tip was refused multiple times. BTW, a number of places with web sites suggested a replacement that was 2" longer than the correct size; I think the extra length wouldn't fit in the pan that holds the battery without altering the pan.. Advance Auto's prices are lower than you'd pay from most repair shops, and much lower than dealers - and the staff provides great service, too! read more

Everyone when I was in the store was friendly and attentive. Robert and I chatted about the low-down with my car and explained what the possible issues were so now when I go to the mechanic I can sound like I know my stuff. I'll make this short and to the point. I went into advanced auto ask counter guy to look up a fuel pump, mind you this is not a inexpensive part. Ask the guy behind counter a price approx $350.00 plus I needed some special tools to do the job.the guy behind counter showed me some specialized tools that need to be purchased to get the job done. Pulling down a fuel tank on truck is not easy I have done it before.i ask jut to see the fuel pump to see what else I may need cause when I start there is no stopping to go back for something I may have missed. He would not let me even look at the pump said its irrelevant WRONG! If I going to spend $350 plus tax and approx $20 in misc tools I need to see product. He refused to let me see the pump. I told Mike P that I will take my business elsewhere if I can't see what I spending $400.00 in tools and part and he had a I don't care attitude went to Napa very helpful more expensive but I got what I needed to the do job.....Mike P needs some customer service Training. read more

Finally a place that has motorcycle stuff!! You can get oil filters on the spot!! 1 day turn around on odd ball filters. They have motorcycle oil also! You don't wanna just put in any oil 'cause of the wet clutch set up. People are helpful - definately not Home Depot!! Good stuff for cheap!! You can change your oil & filter for $20!! Honda charges $15 just for the filter!! Awesome store & the staff go above & beyond! read more
