Every time I go here, there is only one person behind the counter. If you want to buy something and get checked out, you usually end up waiting 20 minutes. Very under staffed and poor customer service. He was waiting on one customer for over 20 minutes when there were 5 others waiting in line just to be ring up. Common courtesy would be to just check out the customers, which would've taken under 5 minutes total, then get back to the longer order. Very frustrating. They need to get more help. read more

If I can give 0 stars I would. I needed a new battery and thought they could help change it because o never changed a battery before. Older guy in front which by the way cusses like a sailor, gave me tools and made me do it myself. Than he said go pick from the box and find the correct socket that you need. I don't know what socket I need like I said up top never changed a battery in my life. An hour and a half later finally got the old battery out and new one in. Thought O'Reilly helps change batteries. I remember when I use to be lazy. Looks like Auto Zone will be my store of choice for now on... read more

I needed to get my headlights replaced, so I walked into O'Reilly's. I was greeted by everyone (which was such a great feeling), Adrian asked me if I needed help and needed someone to go outside and replace them for me! I didn't even have to ask! He was awesome and made sure my main headlights and high-beams were working properly before I left the lot. I highly recommend buying parts from this place!!! They were helpful, quick and did it with smiles!!! Great customer service. I went to AutoZone 3 times earlier in the day and every time I went, it was a nightmare. There were 6 employees and no one cared to help customers. Finally, when someone did help, they were wrong...twice. --Walking into O'Reilly's was like a breath of fresh air. INCOMPETENCE, RUDENESS AND A SCOTCH OF SEXISM...all for your shopping pleasure! First, they order the wrong part (which I didn't know until I took it to my mechanic). The guy assured me he was ordering correctly. Cost me time... which is valuable to me. Then I call and instruct them to order correct part. After a week of not hearing from them, I call and Marshall tells me, he misunderstood and never special ordered this part. Also, both times they NEVER contacted me. I had to follow up. Oh and these guys would rather get drawn and quartered than apologize. Nice, right? But the pinnacle d%$& move came from manager- on-duty JAMES who needs to take many laxatives to remove the blockage causing the grimace on his face. James first couldn't type my phone number in the system correctly. So it appeared that I never ordered my $82 part. I let out a frustrated sigh...... which was totally warrented. I explained to him why I was frustrated. Well, throwing his hands in the air and saying, "well that's not my fault" are never, evet good words to say of you are a good customer advocate. It wasn't helpful and only got me upset. He continued by not wanting to look for my order, by saying rude things, by dropping my box in the floor so that I in my middle age had to bend down to pick it up.... hurting my knees. He showed his anger by slamming the keyboard keys when I asked him to reprint a copy of my receipt. At one point, an older co-worker told him to stop and he said, No. Oh... And no "Thank you" either. As I geabbed my box, I said to him, what you did wasn't nice. You need to learn to be nice to customers. He started screaming .... I'm not even sure what he was saying ..... but it was belligerent and loud. There were two other workers there and another customer....ALL MEN and no one batted an eyelash. I don't care if he was having a bad day, I don't care if he hates his job..... THERE'S NO EXCUSE TO TREAT A CUSTOMER like that. End of story. AND it's his responsibility to diffuse the situation regatdless of him not being at the root of the original problem. What he did instead was create an even bigger fire. read more

I went in to get my check engine light checked out, which they did thoroughly. They showed me all my options, gave me some printouts of what I needed to do. When they saw what I needed was probably under warranty, they told me to just come back if I actually needed the part So refreshing to see a business that actually cares more about you as a person than they do about selling some part. I know jack squat about cars but am trying to be better/more proactive about taking care of stuff myself. When I noticed one of my headlights was out, I decided I was going to figure out how to replace it myself. I walked in with my owner's manual in hand and was immediately greeted by Marshall, who asked what I needed. Rather than just directing me to the aisle where the rows and rows of bulbs were stocked and letting me fend for myself, he walked out to the car with me (in single-digit temps, no less!) to pop the hood and confirm exactly which bulbs were out and the precise models I needed. Back inside, he grabbed the right bulbs in a matter of seconds, and then walked BACK outside with me to install the bulbs while I watched! In and out in 20 minutes, tops. Saved me a LOT of time trying to do it myself later that evening, in the dark, in freezing weather, for which I am eternally grateful. I needed to get my cabin filter changed and get new wipers for my car. My mechanic tried charging me an arm and a leg to change both. I decided to try it myself. I walked in and had no idea what filter to even buy let along how to even install it. Andrew was very quick to notice that I had no idea what I was doing. He helped me choose the correct filter. He even insisted on showing me how to install the filter and windshield wipers. I'd like to acknowledge the stellar service I received from one of the employees Jason last Sat Feb 11th. It was during the snow storm that I ventured to fill my car with gas and check my tires at the Mobil Gas station when my car died. I originally went to Auto Zone when after jumping my car the car still didn't start so assumed it was the car battery. To make a long story short I ended up at O'Reillys on Foster and Harlem after Auto Zone was unable to help. Jason went out of his way on this very cold Chicago day...to go accross the street to check if it was my battery that perhaps was the cause of my car not starting. Took the battery out went back to the store, I purchased a new battery and we went back to the gas station and he replaced it for me. If this isn't going above and beyond I don't know what that is. This was my first time ever visiting this shop. Eventhough this did not start my car. I couldn't have been more grateful of the superb customer service. I think Jason will make a fine firefighter one day as this is what I learned from him during this very cold Chicago day. Sometimes it just takes one individual to make all the difference during a stressful situation. Thanks again to the staff at this store and special thanks to Jason! This place is a dump. The employees seem bothered to help a customer. Ridiculous. Ordered a part for me. Never notified me when it was in. Then it was sent back to the warehouse three days later because I hadn't been in to pick it up. Why did you take my number if you weren't gonna call me when it was there? I won't be back. It was also very helpful to hear the employees complaining about theft and the frozen pipe from the sprinkler room that caused the floor to warp. Not my concern, where's my part? I went into O'Reilly's Auto Parts to pick up spark plugs for my husband. I was immediately greeted as I walked in and offered assistance by Conrad. I showed him the spark plugs which were out of stock, but he was able to order them to be there by 7:30 a.m. the next morning. Kudos to O'Reilly's for this attentive employee.Unfortunately, when I am in an auto store, I feel like I am in a foreign country where I don't speak the language!
