Actually my rating is 4.5 but Yelp won't let me select that option. I received no compensation for this review and am completely independent. As an American who hadn't been to Tijuana in over 5 years I was shocked by how modern and clean it has become. I had two root canals, two top of the line (Emax) crowns and deep cleaning. First let me tell you that when you walk it everyone is so welcoming and smiling it is amazing. Genuine smiles. And their English it faultless. Henry (a quiet but smiling guy who speaks excellent English) and Andrea Christina (energetic and also with great English) man the reception desk. They knew I was coming and greeted me by name. My dentist was Dr. Flores who newly joined the group. Her assistant was Caroline for both the days I was worked on. I highly recommend Dr. Flores for her skill and professionalism. As a guy in his 50s who has lived all over the world and had dental treatment from London/Tokyo/Paris/ New York and San Francisco I would rate her among the top 1 or 2 of all dentists I have seen. Committed and diligent. Dr. Flores is quite friendly but she knows her work! She didn't hesitate to chide me sternly for missing two days of my antibiotics. Good for her! They provide a screen above the patient chair so you can see the X-rays and even the quotations for billing. They are very thorough and have you sign off on each portion of the treatment so no unexpected charges at the end. I hadn't seen this modern of equipment even in many US dentists. The endodontist was named Yashid. Great attitude. He made me feel comfortable and jumped right in. They even show you his finished product on the large screen. Three thumbs up for him. Also spoke English with full colloquial fluency. There is a very smiling young lady named Sophie who helps check you out at pay the bill. She is on top of it! They offer a 10% discount for cash payments. The pearl of the whole visit is Paola. She serves as a type of personal concierge to the patients. She has the graces of a Southern debutante exuding charm and friendliness. Yet she answers quite honestly and is forthright. A smile big as Texas and twinkling eyes she has a genuine concern for the patients that can not be faked. She is newly a part of Dr. Julian's team having fled collapsing Venezuela. I promised to bring her and the team Krispy Kreme doughnuts but was unable to. She has never tried them. I promise to pay anyone who is going that that can stop by San Diego and bring them there. Honestly. Please PM for payment arrangements. I drove there all the way from San Jose and it was worth it! I will continue to do so. The prices are at least half that of the US with quality of service and skill equal to or above that of the US dentists. Why do I give them a 4.5 instead of a perfect 5? 1.) I had two full days of dental work that was pretty intensive. I did get Novocaine and mouth injections to kill the local pain. Yet those wore off in a couple of hours and they only prescribed ibuprofen for after that. Even when I specifically asked for something stronger it was denied. I appreciate the professionalism against drug abusers but honestly 2-3 Tylenol with codeine for two days would routinely be prescribed for this temporary pain. 2.) GREAT to see all the imaging and radio-graphs of my mouth and teeth. But never offered or given a lead shield :( And man they swung that X-ray gun around like a Lieutenant Uhura in a life or death battle with the Klingons. Overall GREAT. I did a whole day of research and concluded that Advanced Smiles was a good bet. Today I drove 90 miles from Orange County to have them fix a mess a local dentist did on my teeth. So 4 hours and two root canals and a cleaning later and I couldn't be happier. From start to finish the best dentist visit I've ever had. And No I didn't get a discount to write this review. Dr Julian overall did a great job with my implant. My regular dentist diagnosed that my #18 molar was fractured and causing an infection. My insurance didn't cover the implant so I had to pay out of my own wallet. Dr Julian was able to remove the tooth, stop the infection and restore the bone loss. The extraction was the most painful. But after that each procedure was less painful. The clinic was very clean, equipment looked up to date and the doctors and staff are highly skilled. I like that he didn't try to rush the procedures but was genuinely interested that the bone heals well and that the implant was successful. Dr. Marissa was very helpful and explained the whole procedure to me and gave me reassurance. If you go 2 any other dentist in TJ or San Diego you are making a mistake!! I have lived in San Diego for 37 years and I have never had such a wonderful experience @ a dentists office in my life. Yes I used wonderful & dentists in the same sentence :-) From the very beginning of my interest in dental work the office manager, Roberto Vargas, contacted me. He was not over bearing or trying to sell me anything, he genuinely only cared about helping me. He didn't try to pressure me to come in, or commit me to anything. I have been a customer service professional for 20 years and I was so impressed by Roberts customer service I knew I had found a great place. When I arrived @ the office all the staff was polite and courteous, offering me water and even offered me food because I arrived an hour early :) lol my fault. My dentist was Dr.Julian & he explained everything to me in a very professional & friendly way. I'm terrified of the dentist. I always had really bad experiences in the past because of low level of tolerance to anesthesia. I came across Advanced Smiles Dentristy online, I had never been to a dentist in Tijuana but my insurance had expired so I decided to give them a shot. The place is really modern, clean, the staff is friendly and they are all bilingual. I explained them my issue and they assured me it was gonna be painless...and it was. They gave me a pill to help me relax, some anesthesia and I even fell asleep during a root canal. Dr Celia is the best, I feel like I'm talking to an old friend every time I see her. Best service ever! From the moment Robert picked me up, he made my sister and feel at ease. Robert explained what the process was going to be like and gave me clear expectations. I have an extreme fear of the dentist. Advanced Smiles made me feel very confortable. I experience great customer service, everyone there was extremely profecional and polite. They have new and advanced dental equipment. They provided me with a complimentary CT scan of my jaw and the dentist was very patient and informative. I was provided with great options for treatment. If you have PPO insurance they will provide you with the necessary paperwork to make a claim. If you walk across the border they will provide you with an uber to and from. I had the best experience here after having some issues with another dentist in Mexico. This is by far the best dentist I've ever been to on either side of the border. I've had both major and minor work and have left impressed every single time. Both Dr. Julian and Dr. Cynthia have done performed miracles on me. Their dentistry service is excellent! The only reason I give them only 3 stars is because there is a lack of communication when it comes to filing the services with the insurance company. It's been almost 9 months I received the services and the first time I followed up, after 4 months of the services received, I was told the services claim had not been filed yet because they had a different clerk and that I had to fill out a patient profile form again because they couldn't find the first one. I filled out the form and waited again about 3 months to follow up and again, I was told it hadn't been filed yet because they changed company and that now I had to pay a $60 processing fee. I'm thinking, Wow, this means if I hadn't called, the paperwork would have never been filed because bothered to notify about this change? So right now I don't feel they are reliable when it comes to filing with the dental insurance and I will be calling my insurance to see what other options I have to get reimbursed. read more

I am at a loss of words for how good of a place this is. I am scared of the dentist for some reason and avoided it for 10 years, I felt perfectly comfortable the whole time. My root canal was literally painless, and they did 5 fillings when I thought they did 1 it was magical. My fillings are smooth and fit my jawline just right. They actually cared to make my fillings fit, I now see how my previous dentists cut corners in the US. My fillings in the US always made my floss fray, were bumpy and rough feeling. So I didn't have very high expectations I expected to wait for an appointment and sit and wait at my appointment time. That's what happens at the dentist right? Had my first visit yesterday. I wanted an estimate for 2 crowns over implants I had done here in the states I must say I was a little taken back at first with the full complement of Xrays. I could see the calculator ticking. Come to find out it is part of the free consultation. Then I was ready for the upsell when they said we would discuss a treatment plan. Lord and beold 4 minor items were suggested. We got to my crowns and receieved quite an education and what I should get and why. Through in a cleaning while I was there for $40. Done by the Doctor not a hygenist. Had my Dr for 2 hrs. straight. Not jumping from patient to patient. My crowns are being made up at the lab and will be back next week for my new teeth. I had gone to a local dentist to get an estimate for the work I needed and it was like going to a used car salesman and it was only to start. When i got there, i found the office very nice and clean, the staff very helpful and friendly and my dentist Dr. Cecile Flores very friendly, capable and skilled. I had quite a bit of work to do that I had put off for a long time and they dealt with me in the most professional and helpful way.They worked with my budget to schedule payments that were comfortable. I have nothing but raves to say about the great service i received. I went to LA for a week and decided on getting driving down to Mexico to get my dental work done. You do have to schedule an appointment in advance by calling and the front desk safe are more than helpful. We parked at the shops near by and walked across the boarder... much easier than driving to avoid long lines! The service was good, the dentist knew what they were talking about and communicated very effectively. The only reason I gave this place 3 stars is because I went there and got two fillings and within a month one of them came out. I was pretty upset about that because I live on the east coast and can't go back. read more

Hi Their prices are way more than other dentist out there and also prices are more than what they quote on website. 1- I had four wisdom teeth extraction they charged me $250 dollars each while on website that price is Extraction (surgical or impacted)$100 -$120, when I asked them they explained because it was surgical extraction but then it should've explain on website too 2- Their website crown is $450 but the charge me $950 after adding all and when asked they explained that it is only crown which is $450 so they should explain that on site only crown $450 plus treatment. 3-Composite filling they even had me sign that this is going to be price and I signed but at checkout prices were increased when asked they said it was more deeper than they thought then I said you should've said that it might be more after looking at it. 4- They always said from office to border ride is free and but they charged me. Make sure to go over their prices before treatment and compare with website because when I searched I found very compatible prices here in Fremont and realized no reason to waste entire day going to Mexico also even other Doctor's in Mexico are much cheaper than this facility when I did more research. Lastly they treat you like a butcher and I felt no sympathy towards patience at all. Their courteousness and service is good, employees are very professional but that we find here in US too. The MAIN REASON of flying all the way to save money and I didn't find them being honest with prices and lots of hidden charges under one treatment, they want to juice your pocket out as much as they can.
