Super fast response (via phone) and arrived within the hr (45 mins) from when I placed the call. Texted my contact info/location and Zack called to confirm arrival time (he was on another job at the time i called). Zack serviced our lock quickly and showed me why the lock failed (dirt collecting in the lock chamber). A quick cleaning/ servicing and it was fixed in 10 mins. No more being locked out! This is my second time using AA Affordable Locksmith & Sons, and both times they went beyond what most people would do to help me! They were quick, professional, and very nice! Warning, long review ahead! The first time I used their services, my friend accidentally locked my keys in the trunk of my car! We had a reservation at a restaurant within the hour, and we were so worried that we wouldn't make it in time...! Called these guys up, and they sent someone to the Safeway parking lot where we were stuck within 20 minutes! Initially, the locksmith (who's name escapes me because its been a year or so since this happened), thought that if he opened the front door that we would be able to open the trunk from there. However, its was an older car so there wasn't a pull lever in the front to open the trunk. When he found that out, he just got his tools and set about the tedious job of taking out the backseat to get to the trunk so I could get my keys! No grumbling, very relaxed and assured me it was no problem at all! Afterwards, he put it all back together in quick fashion, I slapped $75 bucks (and a bit extra as tip for his trouble!) in his hand and my friends and I were off to the restaurant! We even got there a bit early! The 2nd time I used their services was just today. I was supposed to be house sitting and taking care of a cat for a friend as she went on vacation, but I realized when I got there that she had given me the wrong key by mistake! I made sure I had my friends permission before I called up these guys, who sent over Shaun to meet me between 5~ 5:15 pm. Unfortunately there was traffic because of some car accidents, so Shaun had texted me to let me know that he was going to be a bit late. He got to the house at 5:30 pm, which wasn't that much off the mark! Shaun is a young looking guy, but he was dressed nicely with a long sleeve shirt underneath and a kneepad, carrying his tool bag and ready to tackle the lock! He was polite and set me at ease, he really seemed like he knew what he was doing. He communicated very well, was professional and not stilted at all! Turns out the house had really good locks, and Shaun did his best to try to get me into the house by trying different things (even seeing if the windows would open to help me get in!), with drilling the lock as a last resort. We ended up having to do so, but there was no mess and he put in another deadbolt lock to replace the one he had to drill off. Installation was quick and easy, and he handed me the new keys to the lock within 20 minutes (although he spent about an hour at the house exhausting all possible solutions before replacing the lock)! Total cost was $150, and I was able to pay via credit! He even took the time to write up a quick statement to explain to my friend what was done to the lock, and gave a number to call along with a business card if she needed to get in contact with them or have any other questions. Taking out the backseat, calling ahead of time if they were running late, trying to find every solution to get me into the house before doing a more expensive procedure (replacing the lock), giving a quick statement- all these little things are what makes me think they went beyond what was expected to help me, which is why I give them 5 stars. Really wonderful service! Would recommend them to anyone who finds themselves in the same predicament! read more

After losing my car keys I called Richard Sr. and he was quick to answer and give me a quote. He arrived at my home on time. After explaining my OEM anti-theft system to me and what parts I needed to program new keys, Sr. told me to call him and he would return at no extra charge. It was a pleasure doing business with Richard and his staff. Needed to have my deadbolt replaced with a touch pad type and my door knob replaced. Told him I could not find an off the shelf deadbolt and door knob set with the door knob having a 5 inch set back. We made an appt but he late called apologizing that he overbooked and had to move me to the afternoon. No problem. His apprentice came out to install later. The apprentice ran into a problem but Richard came out right away and resolved. There was another problem with the programming of the deadbolt but even I had a problem deciphering the poor instructions (Was a software programmer in my lifetime). No problem. After reading the good reviews, I made an appointment with this company to have 2 deadbolt locks installed on 2 doors at my daughter's house. Brandon showed up on time and was very polite. He quoted me $150/door and $15 to re-key one of the door knobs so that the same key could be used for the deadbolt and the door knob. I said, "okay" thinking that the price would be a little over $300. Brandon did the work within an hour and it looked good. When I asked for the total price so that I could write a check, he said that he had to add tax. Then he said that the total was $418.84! I was surprised, but he had already done the work and I stupidly had not asked for the total before he did it. I gave him my check, but now I am feeling sick because I was so stupid and my husband will be mad at me too. Although the work looks good, I do not recommend and will not recommend this locksmith. read more

So I flew out to Hilo form Oahu yesterday morning for work. On my return flight last night, I realized I either left my keys on the job site in Hilo and no one found it or I dropped it somewhere off island and no one turned it in. After returning from a trip to the Big Island, and getting to my car, I realized I did not have my car keys. They were lost somewhere on the trip. I called AA Locksmith and received voicemail, which gave me Richard's number. He responded to my text message immediately and after giving him my vehicle's VIN and such he said he would be there within the hour. Shortly after, Richard called to let me know that the coding system used by Chevrolet was down, and he would get in touch with me as soon as it was back online. He did not long after and, because my car was parked on Pearl Harbor base, he met me outside the gate and we went to my car. He already had the key made and simply checked to make sure the key worked on all the doors, the trunk, and the ignition. He even made me a spare key for free for the inconvenience of the coding system being down, though that system wasn't his fault and is definitely beyond his control. Richard was professional, prompt to respond, kept me informed of the coding problem, and quick with the work. Nobody really wants to have to call the locksmith for anything like this, but if I have any trouble like this again, I will always call these guys. read more

Need to replace a car key? Call AA Affordable Locksmith and he'll tell you how much he charges for the blank key, cutting it and programming the embedded chip. Then, if you want a good laugh, call your dealer and ask them the same thing. In my case, the dealer wanted more than 2.5 times what this locksmith quoted! To be fair, my replacement key is not OEM. But he's efficient - he cut and programmed the key in less than 10 minutes and it worked flawlessly on that first and only cut. If I ever need to replace another vehicle key, I'm going back to AA Affordable Locksmith! read more

I dropped the call and in about 30 seconds, they texted me to ask if I was okay and did I need emergency lock change services. A few texts later and they said they would send someone within an hour. Just had a great experience with this company. I called this morning with what was not an emergency but they still got right to me today...within a few hours. I had an entry way door handle that needed to be replaced and rekeyed to fit my current keys. It was no problem and I now have a commercial grade handle on my residential door. I feel very secure! Needed to have my door rekeyed after my wallet/keys were stolen. Called this locksmith and told them my situation. He explained that they only took cash or credit/debit cards. I didn't have either of them, but I offered them a check from an out-of-state bank. He bent over backwards for me and sent a guy out to fix it. My lock was changed within ten minutes, and he gave me four key copies on the spot. He also gave me a significant discount per his boss.
