I found out about this place from a friend who happened to walk by their pop-up by the former Toys R Us building in downtown Bellevue. It's tragic that I can't get 88 Cues in Bellevue, so I write this review, imploring the rest of you who see this spot to EAT HERE. As mentioned, it used to be in Bellevue, so my friend and I would walk over on Tuesdays when it was here during our lunch break. There was a huge sign that said, #LumpiaLife, with a few tables that were set up for cooking and the food. The menu is straightforward with a few items, including three different types of lumpias and combinations, with daily specials. The first time I had 88 Cues, I tried the combination with the lumpia, pork belly adobo and pancit, which was outta this world! The pork belly adobo was so incredibly flavorful and good, so is worth the upcharge for this meat versus the chicken version. Then when I came back, I tried the special, a smoky palabok, which was the best palabok I've ever had! Jason is the owner of 88 Cues and he remembered us from last time, calling out our names. He was also very responsive through Instagram when my friend tried to contact him, to make sure he was in Bellevue during the lunch hour. The lady running the store was extremely nice, especially to my daughter (which always wins extra points from me!). I of course ordered the Seattle dog. They had various condiments and toppings available on the side including ketchup, mustard, sauerkraut, pickles and pickled carrots. It was just the perfect amount of food with lots of flavors. After we were done eating, we came by the stand to grab some napkins and the lady asked us how the food was. I thought it was a nice gesture. She really didn't have to say anything and she had quite a few customers in line. She was able to multitask and provide excellent service to every customer. This is a hotdog stand. There are no tables. Condiments and napkins are all self-service. Each hot dog was $12 (this already includes sales tax and tipping is optional). I highly recommend if you are here for concerts or kraken games and want some good food that won't cost you an arm and a leg inside the arena.

However, I will say their pancakes were dense and delicious, and was the standout of that dish. Service was... a bit rough. We came on a Saturday brunch and were placed on a makeshift waitlist as they were very busy. Typical for a weekend brunch, but it didn't seem they were prepared for the rush. After waiting 15 minutes, we were seated by the bartender who thanked us for our patience. No big deal as we expected there'd be a wait. However, where it went wrong was that we were literally sitting there for almost 15 minutes. Nobody came to serve us, check-in on us, or anything. The 2-3 staff would pass us by while we saw food slowly being delivered to other tables. We were just confused by why nobody was serving us. Finally, we asked our neighboring table how this worked, and they told us that we were supposed to have ordered at the front and be given a table number. Nobody on staff explained this to us and we thought we were supposed to be waited on, but this was not the case. When I finally went up to order and explained the situation, the server was apologetic but there really should have been a better system in place, or to explain to guests how to order before leaving them at their tables. We paid it forward by telling the next guests seated next to us the process to order, and they thanked us because they had also been sitting there for five minutes wondering what was going on. So Cycle Dogs, I hope you're able to improve on your weekend brunch model. You all are great and I want you to be successful, but this past experience was not good and I hope this review helps provide a better scenario for future patrons.
