We got the main dish with 4 pieces of chicken and 3 sides (corn on cob, grilled vegetables, and the sweet plantains. Full flavor and spices in the food is hard to describe. Amazing, well seasoned food. Huge portions at a great value! Love their plantains, suya chicken, wings and jollof rice! The House sauce and pepper sauce are so good with their wings and grilled corn. Grilled vegetables also very good. Misty and Joanna provided very good service and restaurant was nice and clean. The Lagos sunset drink had an odd taste and the hibiscus was a bit tart but love that they're made in house. Maybe I'd try on a different day. It would be nice to add sugar free soda. Another thing is when I ordered twice I used my phone number and didnt earn points on the app even after signing up. Other than those 2 notes this was a 10/10 experience. read more

AfroTex on Babcock Road is officially the new spot in town to try. The food was absolutely delicious and packed with amazing African flavors. The hubs and I tried the Chicken Bowl and the Steak Suya Plate, and both were incredible. The meat was soft, tender, and full of flavor. The jollof rice was perfectly seasoned, and the plantains, corn, and sweet peppers tied everything together beautifully. Every bite was delicious and felt like food for my soul. Our hostess was also wonderful and helped us order from the computer menu. I appreciated that she took the time to make sure my sauces were placed on the side due to my ulcers and sensitivity to spicy food and she swapped me to ranch :) That level of care and customer service really was appreciated :) The food came out fast, portions were generous, the price for the bowl was around $15 and the plate $25 and overall it was such a great experience. I truly hope they never change a thing in the future. Too many restaurants start off strong and later begin cutting portions, changing ingredients, or raising prices while lowering quality. Bowls were sooooo delicious. The food was full of flavor and very filling. They did not skimp on anything. My husband and I both had the chicken bowls. The spice was just right and the ambiance was an a plus. It was crowded and the service was great. We had called in the order because we knew with something so good, it had to be packed! Been seeing this place and wanting to try and since I was running around I came through. I got there at noon and only 1 person there, needs to be more people there because its soooo good(I'll tell you). I was hungry and forgot to take a pic of the food but got the chicken with jollof rice, plantains and corn and I asked for it with some extra heat to it and it had a good amount of spice. I thought I would smash through it but.....wrong, its a lot of food so I saved some for my wife to try. The chicken was well seasoned almost fall off the bone and the jollof rice was perfect, the corn was juicy and plantains sweet. I'll be back again. read more

This is some of the most flavorful food anywhere in San Antonio, and I would recommend it to anyone who likes their food cooked with love, care, and real spices. I would have taken pictures but the whole family dug right in as soon as they tasted the first bite. While I usually avoid spicy food, this was incredibly good as the heat is a slow-building tingle rather than the nose-running kind. Although the platter was great, the steak burrito was my favorite. Their house-made ranch is amazing and perfectly complemented the meal while helping to cool down the heat. The service was excellent. I was even offered extra water since i mentioned I am sensitive to spice. The overall ambiance is cozy, chill, and filled with great music. I tried this restaurant for the first time today. I was greeted as I was walking inside. The customer service and food were both amazing. Only a few people were eating in, so there were plenty of tables if I wanted to do the same. It's a nice spot and located right across the street from Community Bible Church (West). My order was ready on time and I noticed it was double checked as it was being bagged. I even received a sauce suggestion since I had chosen no sauce. The sauce was good too. Check them out! read more
