1/2 pound "Parriada" beef fajitas on a hot iron skillet just sizzling with flavor. 2 types of tasty salsa, Mexican rice and beans.

After visiting Mission San Jose (which was beautiful BTW), I searched for barbecue and most were far away. Then I remembered Mexican chicken! I found a Pollo Asados De Sinaloa which was not far away and had great reviews! I headed down there and found the colorful building. Please excuse me for not having any pictures of the outside but you will know why now.... As soon as I parked, a lady came out and she was not stopping with her talking! I was taken aback, but _I couldn't understand a word she was saying since it was in Spanish_! Uh oh!!!! She was frantic and somehow I realized it had something to do with my car and "take out". No cars were there so I tried to figure out if I was supposed to park elsewhere? I asked her if I could walk in and she said yes. I found a couple of pictures of food on Yelp and pointed at it. She started talking again in Spanish and I told her I don't speak it. Luckily a worker passed by and started talking in English. She told the lady what I wanted and the transaction was made with wireless pay. Even after this, the lady kept talking about the car. I searched and found the lady who knew English and she told me that although I parked the normal way, I'm supposed to be sideways - parallel to the building. Uh ok. That will block any other people that want to park. As soon as I moved my car, the lady came out with a plastic bag - BTW everyone gives free plastic bags here; even CVS. And I was on my way. When I got back to hotel I found for sure "real genuine" Mexican food. How do I know? I don't know, but the fact that they all spoke Spanish only and the neighborhood was Mexican leads me to believe it is the real thing. The beans were real - pork and beans with pig skin inside, onions, beans, tomatoes. It came with Mexican rice, salsa, guacamole, a roasted jalapeño (which was spicy), freshly made tortillas and of course the delicious chicken. With the chicken was a broiled onion. It tasted as real as it can be!!! I shredded the chicken and put the extras inside the tortilla and it was good. As good as it was, I think I still like Huli Huli chicken just as much. This entire meal was only $12.49. What an amazing deal for a half chicken! Anyway, that is my adventure with real Mexican pollo!!!

Having grown up at various times and visiting Mexico, this place brought me back. The atmosphere, the mismatched flooring, the loud music, the weird parking all brought me back in the best way possible! I absolutely loved it! The waitresses were dancing and in a great mood! For some it would be off putting or scary. Not for us! Enough of the atmosphere, let's get to the food. I'm going to start this time with the few negatives that did not earn a 5 from us. Well, the chicken was dry. Not even just a little but just dry. It was good, but judging by how extraordinarily great everything else was, we will give it a slight pass. I know I know, if it's chicken they advertise it should be great. Just keep reading trust me. Another knock, but a small one, was the pickled jalapeños. They obviously make them in house. They used WAAAAYYY too much oregano. When you use too much oregano it gives an off flavor, almost like your mind wants to interpret it as spoiled. It's not, but it will overwhelm most as it did with everyone but me. Let's get to the amazing other items. The fajita was 6 stars! It was flavorful and moist. Bravo for actually using the right cut of meat! The rice was perfectly cooked. The sausages with cheese were a great extra! Those beans, especially after the run of absolutely horrible ones we've had, were amazing! I absolutely love how they threw the chicharron in later in the process so it still retained some of its firmness. I do this to mine, and it works so well! The sauces of course were great! The best part was we ordered costillas(flank ribs) and boy was I blown away. Most places over cook them. Not here. We fought over them! With the atmosphere and happy faces, it was an absolute joy to eat here. We will be visiting again, and maybe give the chicken another shot. I have to believe it was a fluke with how great everything else was.

We had the Wednesday special today at the location on FM 78. Everything was fresh, hot, and DELICIOUS!!! $21.89 ($23.80 with tax) includes a whole chicken 8 pieces), Mexican rice, Charro beans, a sausage, a loaded baked potato, 2 salsas (red and green), a grilled onion, a grilled jalapeño, tortillas and lime. It was ready in 5 minutes and we'll be back to try the other menu items too! Highly recommend them to everyone who loves great Mexican food at a great price!

Pollo Asado, sausage, onions and jalapeños. Sides: Rice, borracho beans and salsas.

We finally made it a point to try this place and I am so GLAD we did! For starters the smell already tells you the food is going to be delicious. The staff is so friendly and good at recommendations. Who knew lemonade combined with Jamaica would be so refreshing! There's also other options for food like carne asada and loaded potatoes, definitely going to come back and explore more of the menu.

Food, Service, and Ambiance ALL excellent!!!…read more Our server Venetta was terrific, it was an excellent evening!

Electronic dance music pulsed quietly in the background. The toilets were all individual unisex stalls that were classy, mine had run out of hand towels. Also, the entire restaurant is very dimly lit. I had to use the flashlight on my phone to read the menu, but I have poor eyesight so there's that, but it might explain the quality of the photos I took. The Paloma drink was amazing. It had a great spicy zing in the back of the throat after every sip. Queso was... kinda plain. It might have been better with the add chorizo option. It was very thick. Shrimp cocktail was big, but we started fighting over the shrimp pieces. There was plenty of onion and tomato left over after the batttle. Pollo Asado was a great flavor and the chicken was juicy. Grilled squash that was on the side was good. Chicken enchiladas were good and had freshly sliced jalapeños, which is always a welcome detail. I wasn't able to taste the quesadilla but my daoughter said it was "really good". Fried Chicken sandwich had a great flavor and the bacon was actually pork belly if I'm not mistaken. Sadly there was more batter than chicken. The seasoned fries were delicious and crispy.

We started…read morewith the Pan Fila Conchota combo that is a combination of the two that is 1/2 gallon of hot chocolate made using a base of Abuelitas with additional cinnamon, and cocoa along with something special. It was delicious! The concha was soft, buttery and flaky, with just the right sweetness. We took home the majority of it and it stayed nice and soft instead of turning hard like so many others. We decided to try several appetizers to go along with our concha to get a wider taste of their food than we would by just ordering a couple entrees. Let me tell you, this was a great idea! We ordered the Tosti-Ceviche Verde, Panela Asado, Mexican Street Corn, and their Spicy Bean Dip. The Ceviche Verde was excellent, the freshness of the fish and shrimp was wonderful with the chipotle mayo and avocado. We chose to have it on the salsa Verde Tostitos and it was all great combination. The Panelo Asado was a completely new dish for us and was extremely good with a savory flavor from the salsa Tlaquepaque that mixed well with the Panela cheese. Their tortillas though not made in house, are made for them and taste like mom made them. The Mexican Street Corn was great and had the perfect bit of char taste from the corn. It was creamy and flavorful, we did think it could use just a tad more lime juice though. The Spicy Bean Dip was very good. You can't go wrong with Oaxaca, Chorizo, and pieces of pork mixed with some mildly spicy beans. Our server was fantastic. She had great recommendations for us, and was quick with checking on our drinks and generally helping us throughout our dinner. The food was prepared quickly, was hot, tasteful and refreshing. We definitely will be going back, and recommend Pan Fila to all of you.

Not sure if the Italian side and the cantina side share the same kitchen, but we will remember to come back and try that side as well. If the Italian menu and preparation is as unique as the cantina's, it will be a worthy adventure. For our appetizer we got the cheese dish pictured. I can not recall the name, but the cheese is a cool light cheese served in a warm tomato-based sauce, topped with slices of fresh avocados and chicharones and was served with flour and corn tortillas. Very delicious! As mentioned in the opening...the menu, preparation, and presentation at Panfila is unique. For our entrees my wife got the chile Relleno and I got the Milanese con Mole. The chile Relleno was served in a bowl with just an absolutely fabulous sauce and stuffed and covered with nicely melted cheese. The Milanese con Mole was absolutely decadent! The tender pork was lightly fried and covered in the most delicious mole that I have ever eaten. The chocolate was a little more prominent in the flavor profile than I am used to; and I wouldn't think that I would like that, but it was perfect! I enjoyed every bite and used the extra tortillas from our appetizer to finish off the mole. Highly recommend anything on the menu that incorporates that mole!! Fantastic place!
