    Stuffed Veggie Slice.
    Mike B.

Excellent pizza. The space has been nicely renovated, but it still has the feel of the original shop. All the staff have a particular "we're just making pizza" vibe. You can certainly eat in, but my preference is takeout. The restaurant excels at either. The only detail to note is that this is a cash-only operation, so be prepared. In terms of the actual food, the star of the show is clearly the pizza. I prefer the traditional pizza (i.e., with red sauce). No matter which pizza you order, this is a place that provides a pizza with an excellent crust. Large crumb. Good chew. It's probably the best crust in town. We ordered a series of vegetable toppings, and the result was great. Picking and choosing toppings seems like the best bet for a vegetarian experience. The Aiello's Salad was fine: about what you would expect for a pizza shop salad. The veggie hoagie was nicely flavored, with a good balance of flavor and acidity (from the dressing). The stuffed veggie slice was what it was. We tried it on a whim, and it came out exactly as described: two slices of veggie pizza stuck together. Fine, but not necessary if you're ordering pizza anyway. All told, this is an excellent destination. It's a real Squirrel Hill institution for a reason, and it continues to be worth checking out.

I like Aiellos more than Mineos because 1. It's nicer inside and 2. The food prep area is visible and you can see everything being made. Pizza and hoagies are outstanding. We visited this evening and service was a smidgen slow ... Which they attributed to having a large order for pickup. Yeah, large meaning 35 pizzas!!! That worked out to $950 some dollars and they were only accepting cash! Imagine your pizza being so good an after-wedding reception orders 35 of them ... Yep, Aiellos is that good. People growing up here have their favorites and Mineos was my fave for pizza and Napolis was my fave for hoagies. Or you could just go to Aiellos and everything is great!

5/31/25 Ate List: Traditional Slice - 8.2 White Pizza Slice - 8.6 So there's a local pizza "rivalry" in Squirrel Hill and you are either team Mineos or Aiellos. After trying these slices, it feels like a rumor started by Mineos to try to be kept in the conversation. They are a cafeteria slice by comparison here. Traditional slice was solid. Thin, delicious, crispy. White pizza was electric. Garlic-y and oily but not overbearing. This is how its done. This is the clear winner. Go here.

Love the thin crust pizza, the bottom was cooked to perfection! Bottom was crispy but not burnt. Prices are very reasonable but heads up, it's CASH ONLY. Our food came out quickly and staff was helpful. The restaurant was very clean!

Service was fast and friendly. Lots of seating available. Pizza was good. They have already prepared options and you can order by the slice. We selected our choices and I believe they placed them in the oven to heat up. We ordered the veggie stuffed pizza and a slice of the cheese. Wish the veggie came with a side of a marinara but just personal preference. They crust is good. The only downside was no parking and cash only.

Out of all thin crust pizza in Pittsburgh, this is the best. In its fight with Mineo's, Aiello's wins hands down. The sauce is perfect, the crust is perfect, the cheese amount is perfect. I highly recommend getting a large pie and heading over to Schenley for a picnic!

Had the absolute best service today and the staff was amazing. The food was spectacular! Highly recommend

I stumbled upon Aiello's Pizza while walking around Squirrel Hill and was able to try their pizza slices. The people were friendly and the space with clean with a person hand making the pizza in the corner. Their pizza slices are customizable and you can add whatever topping you want on each slice, which I really like. I got two slices of the cheese pizza and added pepperoni and onions. The texture of the pizza itself is a perfect mixture of crisp and soft, which I personally like a lot, but the pizza was bland and lacked flavor even with the pepperoni slices. Overall, this place was good for a quick snack with customizable toppings per slice, but I wish it had more flavor.

Well I'm glad I decided to give this pizza place a try Located right on Murray Ave parking can sometimes be a hassle over here. First the good They have real grape soda with cane sugar I like grape soda I like a grape soda with my pizza that's just me. I was excited about my slice of regular pizza Well this was a baby slice (why so small) Super thin crust not much of an edge /crust like a good pizza should have. It was crispy Almost tasted like a frozen pizza like from a supermarket very bland Maybe the pizza maker had an off day Cashier had trouble understanding me asking for one slice not 3 OR he knew the slice was small and to equal an average slice I would need 3.

Fast food like pizza restaurant with a friendly staff. The fries were good and work well with ranch dressing. The pizza roll was ok but the inner gooey dough was great. The pizza was nice and crispy and extra salty because of the anchovies. Cash only!

Pretty good pizza! Tried a lot from this place to get a real taste of everything. Will definitely be back to try other menu items Tried an italian hoagie, pierogi pizza, and the stuffed meat pizza slice This place is cash only which was a bummer but oh well. Also I came here after a Delta eight purchase at Smoke Wizard so take this review with a grain of salt! Anyway, the pierogi pizza was unique and something i've wanted to try in Pittsburgh. I've tried pierogi pizza before in my college town. It was good, not as good as i've had but still tasty. The italian hoagie was great. Perfect. Bread was amazing too Stuffed pizza was the bomb!! I would come here again just for a slice or 2 of that. Also love their pizza crust. Place was nice and clean on the inside, and they also have a wide beer selection

They turned the volume of the music lower and even adjusted the heat as it was just the two of us back there the waitress was still very attentive and helpful although she could have easily forgot about us. I was sold on the chai apple martini, even though I was hesitant because it felt more like a Christmas drink and it was February, but it was delicious and I got another one. I ordered the pork chop medium well the sauce was delicious. However, the pork chop was dry. I still ate the whole thing because the sauce and everything accompanying it was amazing. My friend ordered the pesto pasta, which I tried. I really enjoyed it too, especially the Barrata. his steak was also ordered medium well and was drier than my pork chop. I couldn't eat it, but luckily it was not my meal. He did didn't seem to mind too much. The vibes were high all night, even though we were in the back partly because of the waitress, but mostly because of what seemed to be almost a Rihanna only playlist lol

Hound Haus - East Liberty's New All-Day Hangout for You and Your Pup…read moreJust opened in Pittsburgh's East Liberty neighborhood, Hound Haus is a creative new venue that combines a coffee shop, bar, event space, and off-leash dog park--all under one roof. Whether you're looking to get work done with a coffee, wind down with a beer, or let your pup burn off some energy, this is the spot. I stopped in and tried their maple vanilla latte, which was super cozy and comforting--perfectly balanced and not too sweet. I also had a warm muffin that was absolutely delightful. The drinks are crafted with Commonplace Coffee, and there's a rotating selection of prepackaged sandwiches, salads, and baked goods through Catapult Culinary available all day. The space itself is bright, modern, and immaculately clean. You can sit inside or out on the dog-friendly patio, where pups can roam while you relax. Dogs do need to be registered at the front check-in station and must be vaccinated, spayed/neutered, and at least 4 months old. Hound Haus offers daily, monthly, and annual passes--but you don't need to bring a dog to enjoy the vibe. It's a welcoming place for anyone to sip, snack, and socialize (furry friends optional). The owner is incredibly friendly and clearly passionate about creating a space that's both functional and fun. Whether you're a dog owner or just a dog lover, Hound Haus is worth a visit. Open Tuesday through Sunday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
