Just had my 30-year old Sanyo split AC replaced with a Mitsubishi from The AC Shoppe. Called Monday afternoon, and Kua came out first thing next morning to look at the set-up. By Thursday morning, my new Mitsubishi was up and running! It was supposedly going to be done in December or January but apparently, they had a last minute cancellation (after going to the site) so I guess since they had a whole crew with no job, I was moved up!! Alex and crew came by within an hour of a call from owner Neil. They took down and took away the old unit, and quickly installed the new one using the existing hole and drain. It is offset from center because the new unit is narrower, but it was either that or drill a new hole in the wall. Afterwards, they cleaned up nicely and helped put my furniture back! Very happy with the result! I know the warranty is for 12 years, but my Sanyo lasted 30, so I'm hoping for the same luck with better maintenance on my part. As for Neil and some of the negative comments here, I think people misinterpret his straight-forward talk as rude. I personally like it if someone just tells me straight and not beat around the bush! To me, he was very friendly and helpful. Not sure if he remembers, but the AC Shoppe installed my old Sanyo 30 years ago because they happened to be next door to where my wife worked. My parents purchased a split air system less than 5 yrs ago and got swindled. I told them this time their kids will be finding a professional and reputable company to install a new system; hence my call to the Aire Conditioner Shoppe. I had purchased two wall units in the past and had a very positive experience with them. Neil was super in setting everything up from beginning to end. My parents and daughter were suffering with the heat and Neil got them a great installation date. He was straight-forward and prompt and I enjoyed working with him. Kua was great and came out to get an estimate done and my parents said he was very professional, respectful, pleasant and enjoyed speaking with him. As far as the installation, awesome too! Called Neil on Thursday to get a quote for a 30,000 btu split Fujitsu AC with installation. I had already got quotes from a couple other companies. His instant quote was very competitive. We felt comfortable because we've used them in the past. Monday morning the guys showed up, removed the old one, installed the new one and were on their way. They filled out the rebate info and registered the unit for the warranty. They were professional and made it super easy. If you're looking for a split AC, I highly recommend you give them a call. We had used AC Shoppe a few years ago (prepandemic) and had 3 split airs installed in 3 of our bedrooms here, and we were very pleased with their work, and how efficiently their crew works. We had a competitor install our Living Room unit 9-10 years ago, and when I called the competitor it took them a month to even come out and just look at the unit. For the record, living on the North Shore "country", it often takes service people weeks to get out here. I called Kua at AC Shoppe, and he came out within a week, actually on a Thursday, and by Tuesday I had my new 30-K BTU split air installed! How's that for service???!!!! So happily surprised. I felt like AC Shoppe was very honest, and they weren't trying to upsell me or anything, they did say my old AC split air could be repaired, but like almost everything these days, the parts were backordered on the mainland, and this split air was near the end of its life. With the new Mitsubishi, it comes with a 12 year warranty, and also had an automatic $450 rebate, and it's more energy efficient than our older unit. It was a no brainer to buy the new unit. Honestly, living on North Shore we were so pleased by the prompt and timely service of AC Shoppe and their entire installation crew. Alex and his crew arrived on time. Each person immediately did there job very professional.One group working on second floor while another group prep 1st floor unit. Crew left job clean. Will never buy from them again. They do shoddy work. Called them once to clean fan wheel on my Fujitsu split unit all they did was use a brush while unit was on. This sprayed all the black mildew on my fan wheel all over my living room. I spent 2 hours cleaning the mess in my living room. They installed a tri zone Mitsubishi AC in my house when I was getting my house painted water was dripping under the gutter they installed over my drain and Freon piping. To my horror I found out why they used black tape as piping to join drain hose to pvc pipe. They should have used 1/2" to 3/4" adapter and connected the flex drain line to pvc pipe. Called owner Neil and he said post the pics he doesn't care since it is seven years later and their labor warranty is only one year. That is his attitude towards customers. I was able to have my split system replaced (with a complete new Mitsubishi unit) within one week. The installers were punctual, courteous, hardworking and I was even able to receive a quote for another system we plan to get in the future. I received bids that were all over the map and the Aire Conditioner Shoppe was the most reasonable price. Neil (owner?) was recommended to me by the (now retired) installer of our original 16 year old Friedrich system. Neil was easy to work with, answered his phone promptly, called me back with a quote as promised and was straight and to the point! No BS! We have called several times and one of our units installed is not working right. When we called the company, he charged us for a callout even though it was not installed properly. It is still not working. We have called several times and they refuse to fix the initial installation. This unit is still under warranty. absolutely awful service. Continued to ask questions via email and got short one line answers. Never received full answers to my emails, so had to re-email the questions that weren't answered. Neil stopped by and did a pretty detailed assessment of our laboratory space. A few days later, their whole crew was in the space getting a 36,000 BTU unit up and running within 3 hours. That's not even the best part. This thing is on low 24/7 and, in a 2000 square foot space, it feels like the Andes. I've never even been to the Andes but I imagine my fingers would be just as numb over there as they are in here. Also, it's quieter than a mouse wearing sneaks walking across a blanket. You can get more valid information reading negative reviews than positive ones. This is a good case in point for the Aire Conditioner Shoppe. I purchased a split unit from them in 2014 and in 2015 started having trouble with noise caused by vibration. For the next 3 years the technicians attempted to solve the problem, but were never able to. Service calls were spasmodic and controlled by Neil Weidemann, the owner, a real jerk to deal with. This month he apparently decided to quit servicing the unit entirely, although it is still under warranty. He informed me it was my responsibility to contact Fujitsu to address the issue. Fujitsu General America disagrees with Neal, indicating it is his responsibility. Virtually all of the negative reviews here address Neil's belligerent, insulting, unprofessional, DGAS attitude. The good reviews talk to the tech guys, Monte and his crew, and I agree. Give them even more credit for having to put up with Neil. My two last and final conversations with Neil resulted on his hanging up on me. Reading Neil's previous responses to negative reviews shows how he deals with them, and I expect the same will come from this one. I was the bad guy, I was wrong, he was the victim, too busy to deal with the issue, did all he could to address my concerns, I was unrealistic, dealer of the year, yada, yada, yada. Don't believe the B.S. Read the negative reviews. They are an accurate picture of this jackass and how not to do customer service. Also, when you get to the bottom of the 3rd page click on 12 other reviews that are not currently recommended for more insight on Good-luck-with-that Neil. I AM COMPLETELY APPALLED! I purchased an AC unit for $1300 in Aug and called in Nov to request service. My unit cuts in and I have concerns w/its efficiency to cool a small apartment bedroom. Neil YELLED at me, seriously he SCREAMED at me for calling. He first yelled at me because I couldn't read the model number from the tech's handwritten numbers/letters. I informed him I was not an HVAC specialist and request he tone down his inquires as I'm only reading from my very expensive invoice. My television was on and echoed during the call - as soon as he made me aware, I muted it; HOWEVER, this was not enough for him. For him, the only apparent solution was to continue LAMENTING me, even after I ask he stop or tell me what I'd done to put him in such a hostile stance. My inquires only lead to additional scolding and him hastily hanging up Again, completely appalled and in disbelief I was just SCREAMED at by this company's "voice" to the public! Wished I had read these reviews before I purchased our air conditioner. Neil is as rude as these other reviews say. He only wants new business and collects his $$ immediately. When we needed service and this co has the service guarantee you received with the purchase price- he was not interested at all. Neil said they do not book service calls. They will contact the home owner 'when they are in the area'. This does not work for people that have jobs. I would never recommend this company and am sorry I gave him my business. These guys did an awesome job. We too had been warned about their owner prior to getting a quote. Just like another reviewer had mentioned, they also had the best price out of all the other guys we had talked to, and we got 4 other quotes. Our appointment was at 9am and they got here 20 minutes early. One of the units couldn't go in exactly as stated in the quote, but JR was quick to give several solutions to the problem. They are a fast and efficient team. My biggest concern was the condition my house and yard would be left in when the job was done, but there was no need to worry. The crew moved beds, coveredTVs, and picked up all rubbish before leaving when the job was done. I would definitely use again and have already been recommending them to friends and co-workers. read more

I forgot to mention that this company after installing my ac units overloaded my electrical box. I did not learn about this until I was installing my PV system. We've had two separate experiences with this company, about three years apart. The first time they installed a Fujitsu AC split system in our living room; three years later they installed a split AC system in our three bedrooms. We've been satisfied both times. The crews that showed up both times were pleasant, efficient, and professional. The price was reasonable, and the house is much more comfortable with the AC. The units function well. We haven't had to have the AC units serviced since they were installed, so I can't comment on that. read more

Charged me 700.00 they do give quotes over the phone. Nails son n law and four other guys reattached pipe that fell off which they put on and cleaned the screens. Took my money left no receipt but made me sign a agreement to let them service ac no prices were on it. Neil now claims I paid 117.00 then said I paid 178.00. Also said I paid in quarters which I only had hundreds and ones. Pipe installed wrong three days later ceiling collapsed with water. Called plumber found leak coming from ac pipe. Called Neil told me he wouldn't come.back and to call my lawyer as he had the best lawyer on the islands. We paid plumber 1900.00 to find and fix leak, 480.00 to fix my ceiling.and 1800.00 to fix ac. Him or his employees are ripping off people. I will see him in court and I think I have the best lawyer on the island free because she's a relative.Do not sign anything unless the price is on but best of all dont use them Call AMR ac they are excellent. Found pipe wrong that caused both ac 's to die.They also told me cylinders were clean they put it in over five years ago, when cover was opened by AMR it was filthy. Had to pay to clean them which ac Shoppe was supposed to do for the 703.00 I paid. Son in law even shined flashlight to show me it was clean, they never took cover off to look. read more

very rude! horrible customer service. i tried to schedule an appointment for a quote. was rudely interrupted and corrected that they dont do quotes the do "estimates." then when i gave him our address was rudely interrupted again! they dont do condos or townhomes they only do "privately owned homes." our townhomes is privately owned?! we own it. i tried to get a little bit of clarification but it seemed all he wanted to do was rush me off the phone. he only offered abbrasive one worded answers. "no...... no.... no...." im actually glad he was like this on the first phone call i would not want to do business with anyone with that type of attitude. makes me think he runs an in and out kind of company. they get in get paid then get out and you never hear from them again. especially if you need to get something fixed under warranty. i would use caution to anyone thinking anout using this guy. read more
