I've eaten here several times since it is the closest to where I live. There sandwiches are better though so I suggest going with a chicken parm or something along those lines. Pizza is the best in the area - for sure. When you call in for an order, it's going to depend on whom you get on phone. Some are great, some are not so great. You can tell them that with any order that includes the bread, skip it - it's awful. You just have to throw it out. Wow just ordered from AJ's Pizza for the first time last night and I was so happy with the meal. A bunch of us ordered pasta and a few of the boys decided to grab a few fat sandwiches and a large pie. The penne vodka was so good and gave you the option of adding peas and prosciutto for a small charge but it was banging. The sauce was delicious and even better when I dipped my garlic bread in it. My friend decided on gnocchi with alfredo sauce and loved it. The phat sandwiches looked awesome but I definitely have to be in the mood to eat one of those bad boys, they are packed with everything from fries and chicken fingers to onion rings and mozzarella sticks. The boys seemed to really enjoy the pizza leaving me with only a bite to sample so its safe to say they liked it. We will definitely be trying more of what AJ's has to offer ! read more

If you are looking for the best pizza in the area this is it. Always perfectly cooked and their varieties are endless. Toppings are generous and the crust is thin and crispy. I usually go for their sandwiches which are big and feature fresh made bread. Try the shrimp or chicken parm with vodka sauce. Still the menu is varied from gyro to fat burgers to salad. Not sure what someone said about not eating in during a previous review. The pizzeria is clean well staffed and if there is ever an issue the owner is almost always there to make it right. read more

But I suppose you have to make up for lost business somehow when you have a loose cannon like this manning your social media outlet (see photo or follow link at bottom) Just to be clear, I ordered from AJ's website like I have before. I got an email confirming my order and estimating the time of delivery, along with a receipt that specifies my card to be charged. Plus, a pending charge shows on my bank account. All routine. Except that the food never shows up. And despite having several phone numbers, this place doesn't have any kind of voicemail or machine. Phone just rings and rings. I posted the following comment on their Facebook page, where customers are supposed to post comments... "Charged my card, never delivered food. I will NEVER order from them again" They responded that it was grub hub's mistake, that they had closed early. Hey, I get closing early. It was snowing like hell. No problem. But disable the ordering function on YOUR site. I have never used grub hub. Get an answering machine that says your closed. If you want to be accessible through the internet, hire someone who can handle it. Don't blame another company for your small town business screw up. So I posted that I had used their site, not grub hub. Tonight I ordered a salad from here. I love their food but want to make something clear to the rest of the people. When you order your salad online apparently it charges you too much. I ordered 3x the amount of avocado on the salad which cost me 9 bucks. I didn't mind paying it because I thought I'd be getting a lot more. When my salad arrived it barely had the normal serving of avocado. I called and they said because I ordered online it charged me that, well send over extra now. I've been living in West Milford (lower) for 7 years now and have been having AJs delivered since the very beginning. It's the only place I order from - for any type of food (the Chinese food is horrible in this area,. so that's out). Anyhow, I like their pizza, but I enjoy some of the other stuff much more. I highly recommend the Chicken Saltimboca. AMAZING! The spicy pickles sound weird, but they are loved by anyone who tries them. We also often get a salad with our order, and recommend you ask for the creamy Italian salad dressing. I've never had such an amazing dressing. It must just be butter and lard or something really terrible and fattening because it is just so delicious. It's easy to call or use your credit card online to order. The place is run like a well-oiled machine. Delivery guys are nice and impressive. We live on a blind curve, so we tip extra - but even before the tip is in hand they are super nice and unaffected by the daunting location. My only complaint is that every now and again the portions are really small. If they are insanely busy (they're always busy, but occasionally you'll sense chaos) you can get less...not a ton less and they give you a fair amount - but I've definitely noticed it. But that does not happen enough to deny them a 5-star review. read more

AJ's is a great spot for pizza and for appetizers like mozzarella sticks and wings. Cheesy garlic bread that is very cheesy and very garlic-y, it's all good. They know how to make bacon crispy enough so it's awesome on a pie and when you tell them you want extra cheese, they don't screw around. If you're into spicy, get the jalapeño pizza and you won't regret it. Cold sandwiches, dinners and salads generally are unimaginative and leave something to be desired. I never go here for that kind of stuff, but always grab pizza when I'm in the area. Pro tip: Friday or Saturday nights when all the pizza places are slammed and it's an hour for delivery, if you don't want to wait tell them you will pick it up. They'll tell you 25 minutes or (rarely) a half hour but it will be ready in 5 minutes less than that. AJ doesn't like people standing around for the delivery guys to be tripping over so he makes sure pickups are ready quick. Everyplace else in town will have you waiting 45 minutes even if you pick it up. Enjoy your pizza! read more

I've been living in the area for years and have seen good pizza places come and go. So we were glad a few years back we discovered AJ's. The food is awesome. Order an entree and in my opinion it's better than most restaurants where you'd pay double easily. The variety is great, including burgers, fries, cheese steak, salads galore, and of course great pizza including some interesting combinations (like chicken/bacon/ranch!) Everything is delicious. We've been going to AJ's for many years and never had a disappointment. We have a few dinner favorites, eggplant parm, Veal Saltimbocca or al a AJ. And the pizza is always good. [But I do ask for a little more sauce on a pie.] When the power goes out (which is too frequent) this is our go to place. So much so, AJ greets us with "What? Don't tell me you lost power again!" The mussels here have usually been good, there was a time when they were unbeatable but when we let the know they were kind enough to put a credit for them and did tell us their regular supplier shorted them so they tried somewhere else..not a good call. They make a good pie and is the only place my sisters order from for their pizza. The tip I would give you is to have it delivered...the parking is horrendous and there is no place to wait inside due to the traffic of the delivery personnel running in and out to get the orders out.
