Best sushi I've had in a while. The salmon sashimi was perfect. Very kind front end service. I had my meal to go but the inside looked very clean and nicely decorated.

First time trying this place after searching nearby for some sushi. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed the food. It was delicious and the edamame was our favorite part. We already have plans to come again and try the Shocking Lobster and Gyoza. They do not sell fountain drinks but they have a big selection of drinks to choose from. Service was great and the host/cashier was attentive and nice. We ordered at the front then sat down to wait for the food and it was later brought to us. It was empty when we arrive but slowly picked up with people. There's plenty of room to sit and it's a cute little spot. I would recommend this place to anyone in the area.

Cool little sushi shop in a random little plaza right smack on Wardlow and cherry . I believe it's all other food places here in this small plaza so there is parking available to patrons. I have been here on 3 different occasions & have done both dine in & take out ! Usually a creature of habit so have got basically the same thing every time and it's been the crunch roll , gyozas, & miso soup & they smack every time. Service here is good , it's always the same lady and she's very nice. I've noticed they have lunch specials but have not come on during those times ! Plenty of room to dine in . Very nice and neat in there !

Restaurant is accessible from freeways, no issues finding parking on a Saturday night. Located just off Cherry street. Food was amazing! We ordered several rolls and nigiris, as well as some miso soups. We were satisfied with the amount of food as well as quality. Food came fast, we did not wait long despite being a party on the larger size (7 people). I highly recommend Akii Sushi! Staff were very friendly, space is clean, and prices are very affordable. The next time I'm in the area, I'd come back again.

Drove Past This Place Too Many Times, So My Husband And I Finally Decided To Give It A Try. The Place Is A Bit Small But Welcoming. I Don't Like The Fact That We Have To Order And Pay At The Front Before Being Seated. Been To A Different Sushi Place That Did The Same And Had A Horrible Experience But I'm So Happy That This Place Didn't Disappoint ! I Ordered The Angry Roll And Sunset Roll. I Love Spicy Sushi And Their Angry Roll Was The Spiciest Sushi I Have Ever Had. It's So Delicious ! The Sunset Roll Was Also Delicious And It Help Calm Down The Spiciness Going On In My Mouth LOL.... My Husband Ordered The Beef Teriyaki. He Said It Was A Bit Too Dry. He Won't Be Having That Again... I Would Defiantly Be Back Again But My Husband Would Have To Try Something Else On Their Menu

loved this spot!! It's a very intimate space tucked away off Cherry, but don't let that deter you. The service was so friendly and welcoming and the food was great. I came in with 7 friends and even though there's not a lot of seating inside, they helped accommodate our large party and got us seated right away. We ordered a lot of sushi, some rolls, and some starters (the tempura was great, and the chicken wings were actually SOO good and super juicy and tender) and the food came out pretty quickly too. The fish was really fresh and the proportions of fish to rice was perfect. The rice texture and flavor was really nice too. Would definitely recommend this spot if you're craving sushi in the area!

Came here with a group of 7 friends and we had a great experience! We got seated and received our food very quickly. We ordered a variety of rolls, sashimi, chicken wings, miso soup, and tempura. Everything was delicious and flavorful! The location is a little lowkey tucked away but I would def recommend this for lunch or dinner! Parking was easy since there is a lot in front of the restaurant as well.

Peaceful, cool, clean sushi sit-down and take-out place to grab a quick bite to eat. The Dragon Roll and California Roll were delicious and just what we needed on a hot day. Thank you to the employees for being courteous and welcoming.

Food was delicious and the food was served in a very timely manner. We ordered the Philadelphia roll with a teriyaki chicken plate. The plate was enough for two! Even though they may have had some AC problems I couldn't tell as they had two fans going to keep the room at a good temperature.

After waiting in a short line, the cashier explained the lunch specials and gave a nice warning about the heat on the angry roll - I almost changed my mind. The restaurant space is cozy and decorated with real plants, but wasn't crowded. I started with a delightfully stuffed fried jalapeño followed by the 6 piece garlic chicken wings - crispy, somewhat sweet, and well-seasoned. The angry roll was indeed spicy (not overwhelming) and delicious! Typically sushi can be too rich for me, but I was able to eat the entire roll without issue. The tuna portion was generous to the degree that it was enjoyable and filling. There was a strong selection of sake, beers, and soft drinks - I chose Sapporo. Other diners ordered several entrees that I'll have to try on another visit.

Location: This place is in a tiny busy center with other food places. Parking: They have parking, but during the lunch hour can be a bit hectic. Food: I ordered to go since it was my lunch hour, and I needed to head back. The order process was easy and fast. I ordered the salmon plate. It came with salad, gyoza, white rice, and California roll. The salmon wasn't anything special, and I will admit I'm very picky when it comes to salmon, so please keep that in mind. It was bland; it had no flavor whatsoever. The gyoza was okay, and the California roll was OK, too. I didn't try the salad. Service: The lady who took my order was pleasant and quickly took my order. However, once my order was packed and ready, I asked for hot sauce and was told it would be 25 cents. I didn't have it, so I told her never mind. She gave it to me anyway. Once I returned to my desk, I noticed the container with the hot sauce was half empty. (See picture) I mean, I get not giving utensils or sauces unless requested, but come on! If you are going to charge me, you better give me an entire container of what I'm PAYING you! This annoyed me for sure. I will try this place again, but it will be a while.

I just finished eating here and I went straight to write a review... yeah this place was that good!! We got the rainbow roll, tiger roll, and the shooting star and they were alll delicious! I highly recommend this spot! The lady at the register was so sweet and very attentive. I love that you pay first and then eat so once you're done you can just leave, a different approach to a typical dine in sushi spot! Overall loved this spot and will be coming back :) read more

The name of this place is Akii "Sushi" but I recommend NOT ordering anything raw or containing sushi from here. They should consider changing their name to Akii Teriyaki, since that is the only thing I would order here if I had to come again, and maybe they should consider serving ddukboggi since the owner is so very Korean. Food, Sushi- Definitely not fresh. The mere 4 pieces of sashimi had bones (yes, multiple); the tuna and salmon were not fresh or cleaned properly, and tasted so fishy I ended up swallowing my bite without finishing chewing. This comes from someone who appreciates seafood fresh from the ocean, and mackerel is one of my favorites. Food, Other: The teriyaki chicken and teriyaki beef weren't bad, and I liked the rice (we're going for the low-hanging fruit here.) The salad that came with it was brown and looked like it had been refrigerated for a week or 2, and the dressing was less like dressing and more like teriyaki sauce. The gyoza was mediocre at best; my gyoza-loving family didn't bother finishing them after trying 1 piece. The chicken karaage looked like 4 sad pieces of popcorn chicken, served with a side of overpoweringly spicy and sickeningly sweet sauce. Cleanliness- The tables are so coated in dirt that after wiping the entire table down 3 times the wet wipes used the 4th time were still visibly soiled. I don't know about the chairs, but the bench seating against the wall was so dilapidated and unsteady that I felt like I was sitting at the top of a slide waiting to go down. Service- The owner was abrupt and off quite rude ("what do you want?"), and the sad part is I don't think she was trying to be rude. The worst of cultural appropriation. Price- Not affordable and Not worth it! The sparse amount of barely edible food that was served cost us 4 days (12 meals) worth of groceries. read more

I've came here a few times since it's close to my workplace. It's a cozy small restaurant with friendly staff and food was ok. I recently tried out their Korean Seafood Ramen and I feel it would have been best to eat it on a rainy day lol. Next, I took a bite of my fiancè's beef bowl that he ordered and made me wish I ordered that instead haha. I'll probably order the beef bowl the next time I come here again. read more

It's a pretty small spot and easy to miss but it's definitely worth a visit ! Me and my friends came for lunch so they had a special going on it's a sweet deal. We got 4 rolls of sushi for a cheap price and they all tasted good. The service was really friendly and they even offered us free items to try. Definitely recommend. read more

The Sushi is so good and fresh! Takeout is good, and dine in is super quick. I got the Mom's Roll. It has a California roll with spicy tuna on top. Love the cali roll part, good flavor, not too much Mayo like some places. The spicy tuna was fresh, good texture, and good spice level. I also had the Karaage which was super nice. The miso soup was on point. My party also has the Salmon Teriyaki Bowl, the Salmon Lovers Roll, and the Tropical Roll. I tried everything and it was soooo good! Great little spot for sushi and teriyaki. I guess they are under new management and the lady running it is on top of everything. Will definitely be back! read more

My girls and I had Saturday plans in Long Beach and I knew we wanted sushi so I did some research and added this gem to my to try list. After running our errands we came here and I am so happy this was the spot we decided to try. The beautiful Jennie was an absolute delight! I have been driving past this place for 10 months. Finally decided to give it a shot for a Saturday night take out. Phenomenal! Presentation is sexy! Portions are perfect for price, and flavor is just enough to make you want to order more OR simply come back! I ordered the gyoza appetizer... perfect texture and sweet dipping sauce Popcorn lobster was well fried to color and texture. Roll was an absolute monster. Shooting Star roll was the highlight! first time coming here and we were the only ones there. sushi was good! i would recommend the albacore delight roll and the shooting star roll! the only thing i didn't like was having to go up to order the rolls at the front bc we like to order more as we eat, but other than that it was really enjoyable! read more

Extremely fresh and exquisitely prepared shashimi and sushi rolls. The owner and chef and kitchen staff are so warm and caring. People who take-out can enjoy the great food, but they miss the opportunity to have the staff engage with you during your meal if you dine-in. Chef came to table to explain the fresh fish that arrived earlier in the day and discussed what's currently the best fish on the market this week. read more

Decided to try this place out for lunch based off of the good yelp reviews and I wasn't disappointed. The cashier and server were both friendly and created a very welcoming atmosphere. We got the bomb roll, rainbow roll, baked salmon roll and the Korean ramen which all tasted very appetizing. We plan on returning to get those menu items again and more since there was a lot on the menu that caught our attention. Food has lots of flavor is is good. The only downside is how bad the service is here. The owner is very hesitant to give you some sriracha or any type of sauce. If she does give you some it's very very little. I came back again a week later and now she's charging for extra hot saice. read more

second time here and it's great! workers are super friendly and made the overall experience enjoyable. the rice balls are a good little appetizer. the shrimp tempura is pretty average but still good. all the rolls were good but the star of the show was the king crab. the sauce was a bit spicy and the flakes were the perfect addition on top! come here if you're craving some sushi :) read more

Went for the first time today and it did not disappoint. I ordered the Philadelphia and the King crab rolls. They were excellent! The cashier was very friendly. The service was fast too but I went in the middle of the day so I missed the lunch rush (which was great). This spot is a must try if you are looking for a good sushi spot. I finished the rolls so fast there was no time to take pictures. This is my new spot. It's way better than the other sushi spots I've tried (not going to name names). Thumbs up to you and see you soon! read more

I had one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had at this restaurant in Long Beach. I ordered a seafood soup, expecting something fresh and flavorful, especially since I usually enjoy Japanese cuisine. What I received was extremely disappointing. The soup looked and tasted like instant supermarket noodles--the kind that cost a couple of dollars--with just two shrimp and two mussels thrown in. The broth was basically watery with some egg whites, and it had an unpleasant smell. I couldn't even take more than a bite. When I politely asked if I could change the soup (which I hadn't eaten), the woman at the reception refused and said I still had to pay. Her attitude was shockingly rude. Instead of listening or trying to resolve the issue, she became aggressive--at one point even pushing me and dismissing me in a very disrespectful way. I asked to speak with a manager, and she told me no one was available. I even requested that she call the manager, and she refused. It honestly felt like she might have been the owner or acting manager herself. What made it worse was that I had just arrived in Long Beach, was very tired and hungry, and was really looking forward to a good meal. Instead, I ended up paying over $12 for something I couldn't eat and leaving feeling upset and disrespected. The cook even seemed to silently agree that the food wasn't right, but nothing was done.
