Not recommended if you are looking for good sushi and a nice eating experience. The sushi preparer was having a loud conversation with the manager or owner. It was so loud and uncomfortable that I lost my appetite. It went on for about 20 minutes. Our cups for soy sauce was dirty, so we had to ask for new ones. When we could not take anymore if the yelling (for lack of a better word), the waitress was not around to give us our tab. Our go-to quick sushi spot, it's your typical sushi go-round. Pretty good quality compared to others I have been to. The sushi is always consistent and they count the plates correctly and do not over charge without you realizing like some places I have been to do. read more

The best value and product of all conveyor sushi in the greater Portland area with unique rolls and a well stocked belt at any hour of the day. Easily a five-star establishment if they would get some ventilation and turn on the radio. Feels like a library in there... a library inside of an aquarium. read more

Did I go to the same place as all these other yelpers?? The only reasons this place got 3 stars were the price (incredibly cheap) and the labeled items on the sushi belt. The staff were nice but didn't attend to us. The seared salmon was cheap but paper thin. It's hard to sear something that thin, so it was just overcooked salmon. We won't be back. read more

My girlfriend says it's the "best sushi train she's ever had" which is saying something. I love the bacon sushi rolls and the miso soup myself. You can order off the menu and/or pick from the conveyor belt of deliciousness. Very friendly staff to boot. read more

This place used to be my go-to however the service here has gone downhill! I had to ask for things instead of being checked on. Also, They put way to much Sushi on the Conveyer, so the Sushi does not taste or look that fresh! They don't have a permanent Busser which is a big problem pretty much every time I've been! The fridge was pretty bare last night, so I decided to visit this place because there isn't a lot in the Clackamas area as far as good restaurants. While I'm glad there is a sushi place within short driving distance of home, I think the other conveyor belt sushi places I've been to in Portland (Ichiban and Sapporo) were both better in terms of food. The prices are nice, and nothing I ate was particularly bad, it was just sort of meh and I felt a little nauseous afterward. They did have a really wide selection of different rolls and side items, probably as many as the two other places mentioned combined, but that might also account for the lackluster quality of what was there since I'm sure keeping that belt stocked up is a challenge. I wouldn't tell anyone not to go there, but I wouldn't exactly recommend it either. read more

If I can give them zero stars I would. Quote 30 mins for a take out order. Gave them 45 mins... it took another 45 mins after we got there for our order. No COVID protocol, had too many people standing around waiting for tables and take out. Did not feel comfortable waiting inside and sat in my car. Way more affordable than Sushi Hana and excellent QUALITY. The staff is extremely attentive and they have a MASSIVE amount of options in each budget section and don't skimp on the stuffing. Truly happy I found this place and will definitely be back over and over again. They make to go order fresh and you can order fresh from the table at no extra cost. Each type of sushi has it's own label and they are organized on the train. They keep the train fresh as well. Akira is one of those places locals wish only they knew about, like most smaller places they do their best, and although they sometimes can't meet regular standards they're nice people, service is what will always bring me back. It's probably one of the cheaper If not least expensive places in the area, they're offering dine in (table apart from other tables) during COVID which we really enjoy, I visit 2-3 times a week. Cons: I only rated 4 stars because they could use a serious upgrade in furnishing and a floor coating maybe even a wall painting if they have the time, and when you order sushi they walk the conveyer belt to find it rather then making it fresh, I order because freshly made sushi comes out warm or cold depending on what you're ordering rather then room temp. That can get a little annoying if you don't clarify how you want it. read more

This place has great sushi, wide selection, and very polite staff. The idea of a conveyer belt of sushi was odd at first. However once I started grabbing dishes and eating them I was in heaven. We stuffed ourselves and the bill was half the price or less of a regular sushi restaurant. I like that we did not have to wait for food. We will be back soon. read more

I don't understand how a place could be rated so high but the food be so bland. We ordered 10 things and only got about half of them. The bake muscles didn't seem like they were cooked correctly, and the rolls are so unbelievably small compared to the photos. What we got was definitely not the price it should've been. My husband and I often come to this place for dinner before the COVID, food was good and the people were nice. We visited tonight, we saw they have about half capacity of seats, 2 chefs, 2 waitresses and 1 cleaning person. We were seated shortly and ordered our food, however, the food never came after about 20 minutes wait and we were told the order was never made to the kitchen, and there were no apologies. The younger waitress was rude to us when she brings our salad and fried calamari, the calamari was cold. We waited another 10 minutes, no food came and we still don't have any plates or dishes for soy sauce. We decided to pay and leave. Another waitress told us no need to pay and we can just leave, still no apology. I understand they are busy and working very hard, but the way they treated us was not acceptable. The management team should considering some employee trainings. This used to be one of our favorite place to eat, and we liked to chat with the owner, but we are less likely going to eat there again. read more
