Service, food, drinks, and ambiance were all superb. The meals were too many and diverse, as were the beverages, to be related here. The important theme running through the food items, was the satisfaction of every member of the party. Expect to pay a fair price for the first class experience you're bound to recieve. I highly recommend Station 45. See you there.

Our waitress was friendly and attentive but that was really the only positive. There were 6 of us and we started with the calamari appetizer and charcuterie board. The charcuterie board was fine nothing too exciting but the calamari was super salty so most of us did not enjoy it. Then we had our soups and salads. Everyone enjoyed their salads but I tried the lobster bisque which was an additional cost and it was very disappointing. The puff pastry on top made the presentation nice and the flavor was decent but there was no lobster chucks at all in it which was not what im used to at a steak house. Next came our meals which 4 of us ordered the filets and 2 were sent back immediately because they were so salty they couldn't eat it. Mine seemed to have a lot of pepper which i didnt care for but I didn't experience the salt issue so i did not send mine back. Another guest had salmon which she was enjoying until she found a metal coil in it. When we showed/told the waitress what was going on with the meals she took them back but and the people with steaks were given new steaks without the seasoning but no real apology was given. It's really disappointing that management or someone didn't even come to apologize especially for the metal coil because had she eaten that it could have really caused an issue. We were given a few things off the bill but our bill was still over $500 and when you pay that kind of money you expect to really enjoy your meals. The ambiance is nice there and they have potential but after our experience we definitely wont likely be going back. The two that sent their steaks back still cant even think about steak after this experience.

The food is prepared fresh and of very high quality. This is definitely one of the more upper scale restaurants in the Binghamton area, however, the prices are fair for the quality and quantity of food you receive. They also have a very large and nice bar area. Would definitely recommend for a special occasion or a nice night out!

I was unaware the restaurant was not a stand alone, but rather in a building with other businesses (not a negative, just something to point out). We ate on a Tuesday, pretty early (5:15 reservation) and were there about an hour and 45 minutes, so if you're in a rush for a meal - this isn't the vibe for you. We didn't mind it, however, as we were not in any kind of time constraint. The restaurant itself isn't overly large; so the tables are all pretty close together. Our meals were very good. We both upgraded our salads that came with our meals; I went with the prime salad and my husband the Ceasar. Both were delicious! For our entrees I ordered the Chilean sea bass and my husband the chicken parm. Both were delicious, however my husband's pasta was a little starchy. The two large chicken cutlets with the soft cheese on top really made up for that though! Our server (Alfredo) was very kind and attentive; offering us Prosecco or Complimentary Dessert for our anniversary! We opted for the espresso cheesecake and it was truly the star of the show! Overall: I'd rate it a 4.5, but couldn't justify a 4 star so I gave it a 5. It's a nice place for a special celebration meal!

If you're looking for a slice of Binghamton history served with a side of old-school Italian charm,…read moreCortese Restaurant is essentially a local landmark. Since it first opened its doors in 1947, it has been a staple of the community, maintaining a vibe that feels like a step back into a more classic era of dining. Here is a breakdown of what makes this "East Side Institution" a must-visit: The Atmosphere & History Founded by Angeline Cortese and her sons, the restaurant has remained in the family for nearly 80 years. It's the kind of place where the booths are cozy, the lighting is dim, and the service is professional yet warm--making it just as suitable for a milestone anniversary as it is for a casual Friday night pizza. Menu Highlights The Homemade Sauce: This is the heart of the kitchen. Reviewers often describe the sauce as perfectly balanced--tangy with a hint of garlic and a natural sweetness from vine-ripened tomatoes. It's rich without being heavy, and it coats their fresh, homemade pasta beautifully. Veal and Peppers: A standout for fans of traditional Italian comfort food. The veal is tender, and the sautéed peppers add a sweetness that complements the savory notes of the dish. It's a hearty, authentic choice that showcases their "from-scratch" philosophy. Mozzarella Sticks: Forget the frozen variety; these are a fan favorite. They are hand-breaded and golden-fried, often served on a sampler platter or as a standalone starter. They are exactly what you want: a satisfying crunch followed by a perfect cheese pull. Baked Clams: Prepared in the classic "Oreganata" style, these are a sophisticated way to start your meal. They come topped with seasoned breadcrumbs and a touch of lemon and white wine, capturing that seaside Italian flavor. Tiramisu Cake: No trip to Cortese is complete without dessert. Their Tiramisu is light, airy, and layered with the right amount of espresso-soaked ladyfingers and creamy mascarpone. It's the perfect, not-too-sweet finish to a heavy meal. Pro Tips for Your Visit The "Hot Pie" Pizza: Cortese is famous for its unique rectangular pizza. The sauce is tangy, and the pepperoni is tucked under the cheese, which prevents it from getting greasy and keeps the flavor locked in.
