Pleasantly surprised by this Mediterranean spot almost hidden in the corner of a commons area. First off staff is super friendly-when I haven't been somewhere I like to ask the staff their favs and they didn't disappoint. I went with one of the most popular chicken shawarma and everything is phenomenal. Salad? Bomb, and perfect amount of dressing. Hummus, tasty AF. Chicken? Perfectly cooked and seasoned. Garlic sauce? Don't let grungy area fool you - THIS PLACE IS AMAZING. It's got delicious food and you can tell Maurice and his family is really passionate about what they do. We got the chicken shawarma and kebab plates and everything was fresh and flavorful and delicious. Very good portions for the price too. GET SOME FALAFEL. Maurice kindly handed us some to try before we were leaving and I know I will be coming back to order some. I haven't tasted falafel like it before - it was so moist and tender and the spices used were incredible. I want all falafel to taste like Al Basch falafel. A little hidden but worth the try. The owner of the restaurant is nice and the interior is very clean. I ordered #2 which is chicken kabob plate. It has rice, hummus, salad, and the chicken. It also served with Pita Bread. Everything was good I would've like for the pita bread to be warm. The rice, salad, and hummus is pretty decent. A little more flavor to the rice and it would've been a plus. I also ordered the cheese spinach empanada which was super delicious! Order it! You'll love it! I am so happy that I gave this place a try. I think it will be a new go to for Arabic food. I enjoyed every bite of my chicken shawarma wrap. Everything was fresh, flavorful and authentic. I got a side of hummus and tabuleh salad and they both were delicious. The service was fast and friendly and they have plenty of parking in a private lot. The inside place is clean and if you follow them on Instagram you get a free drink! The grape leaves were interesting - my first time trying them! They were cold and had a tart pickled taste! The chicken shawarma had a crispy and warm pita and it's less sour than the grape leaves the but sauce makes it tart on the inside. They don't have the normal tzatziki sauce but it's warm and has a lot of protein! The kabab plate came out steamy. The kabab was really savory and grilled well. Can't say enough nice things about this "hole in the wall" next door to "Rock n Roll Ralph's" on Sunset. We shared the mixed kabab plate with chicken, fliet mignon and kafta with baba ganoosh, hummas and slightly well done fries on our request. Everything was outstanding The owner was there, watching France play soccer, brought us a free taste sample of his felafel donuts and was so friendly to us along with all of this staff in the kitchen. Covid 19 delivery review: I think this place deserves 5 stars across the board. I ordered takeout for lunch from DoorDash and it came super quick. I ordered the mix kabob plate and there was a lot of food! It was fresh, the meat is still on the skewer, there's pita bread and hummus, a side of salad and rice. First time we came here, it was around 9ish pm and they were already out of the chicken and beef shawarma, which was a huge bummer because those were exactly what we wanted to order. So make sure to come here earlier than 9pm if you're craving chicken/beef shawarma! Decided to try again - this time at around 8ish pm on a Monday. I personally liked the chicken. The portions are pretty generous and the price is standard for Hollywood. You get rice, salad, and pita bread. Though I liked the chicken, I also wasn't too impressed by it. It was okay but nothing out of the ordinary. As for the beef, I wouldn't recommend if. It lacked in taste, flavor and seemed dry as well. Even with the sauce, it wasn't necessarily any better. The place wasn't packed at all at that time. They do have a small parking lot, which is convenient. The area is a little shady though. It's Hollywood so you may see some homeless people or tents even. read more

Now, we live a little farther away and order through Postmates. My only minor complaint is that oftentimes, we do not receive Pita Bread. The lights and ambiance are truly insane. I have never experienced anything like it. Let me backtrack too and say that I paid $14 for valet which tbh is not too bad considering I didn't have to worry about my car or anything so it was worth it. Okay the food. We got Parker rolls and the Mezze plate for the table. Wow, the Parker rolls were as you would expect. Buttery goodness. French butter as you know...top tier. Okay the Mezze plate? Every single sauce was so good. The little cous cous thing in the Mezze plate was so cute and yummy. Then the main dishes. Seven vegetable couscous was great. As a Moroccan, I can say it was a great vegetarian version of the dish. Has the staple veggies you look for in a cous cous. My friend got the vegan cauliflower steak and that was so beautiful and tasted delicious. It was a great dish for my vegan friend. Our waiter was so nice and really personable as well. From start to finish, he was there for us when we needed him and we really enjoyed our dining experience because of him. I forgot his name but he's a star. I have already recommended this place to others because it really was so incredible. I am so happy I got to come here.

Don't get me wrong, it's a nice garden setup up, but we were expecting a more romantic and whimsical layout. We also noticed that the dress code is very loosely enforced as there were numerous people there with T shirts on. We got there for our reservation about 15 minutes early and was seated quite fast. The hostesses at the front were quite friendly and the wait staff were attentive and mostly nice. One of our servers seemed a little curt at one point, but it wasn't too bad. Once you are seated they ask about your drink order, and offered wines, sparkling water, and literally said "tap water". Pretty surprised that they said tap water, but we went with a glass of wine and sparkling water. The menu is short and it's easy to make your decision. We went with the 24oz Prime Ribeye Steak, Pappardelle pasta, Kingfish Crudo, and the Portuguese Piri Piri Shrimp. The ribeye was served with scalloped potatoes and green beans that were delicious. The ribeye was a perfect medium rare, tender, and served in a very balanced sauce. The Piri Piri Shrimp was also great. Large pieces in a slightly spicy cream sauce; I would describe it as almost a Cajun flavor. These were my favorites of the dishes we ordered on this night. The Kingfish Crudo was a nice choice. I believe it was yellowtail served with small pieces of cherry tomatoes and peach chunks. The sauce was nice and refreshing with a little sweetness. The Pappardelle Pasta was ok, and probably my least favorite dish of the night. It wasn't bad, but wasn't on par with the rest of our meal. The thick pasta noodles were al dente, and the sauce was nice and creamy with pieces of green beans. It got better once we mixed the poached egg into the sauce, but still didn't get it to the point where we would order it again. Since it was my fiancé's birthday, she wanted to get one of their desserts served as a small birthday. She saw pictures of their passion fruit coconut cheesecake on Instagram and wanted that, but they changed it where the passion fruit was at the bottom of the cake. I thought it was decent, but not a great dessert. I thought the staff would at least sing happy birthday like other restaurants, but that didn't happen here. Overall, The Little Door is a small romantic stop to have a date night. I don't know if I would consider it a place to celebrate a special occasion though. I think we would come back, but not for anything big. Also, I would recommend using the valet, it's right in front and they only charge $14 pre tip.

They should update their regular cut fries to steak fries which are usually better tasting with this meal, but the fries were not super hot.

The freshness of the cucumber and herbs cutting through the rich sauce balanced it out. The pan fried pork buns however were rather forgettable. The meat was juicy but I was left wanting more flavour in both the meat and the buns. I also wish the bottoms were a bit crispier. I'm definitely looking forward to coming back to try their breakfast menu and other items though. Because peeking at the other tables they offerings looked delicious.

I had the chicken and the next day had to come back for the beef. Not kidding. They have more things I will eventually try. Has a vegetarian menu as well. I'm more of a meat person. Parking was also surprisingly easy since it is located in a larger shopping center with 90 minutes of free validated parking and most places there seemed to validate. I would definitely come back, especially to try one of their lunch chicken plates or check out their happy hour menu.

I came in fully prepared for a disaster after reading the reviews but the food pics looked solid so I figured, why not. First impression? Total chaos. Not the fun, busy kind, just confusing. I stood in line at what looked like a Chipotle-style setup, only to realize (way too late) that you're supposed to pay first and then wait for your number to get called before you even start picking your food. No signs, no heads-up, nothing. After about 14 minutes of waiting for my number to get called, though, things turned around. Staff was actually really friendly and the food? Really good. Big portions too, I've got leftovers lined up for tomorrow, so no complaints there. One thing that stuck with me though...the whole place gave off that "hope they're paying these workers fairly" energy. Could be wrong, but it definitely crossed my mind. So yeah, messy system, solid food. If they fixed the flow or put up a sign saying to pay first, this place would be way better.

But, if you could take a moment longer to seek out Ovation food court offerings, tucked waaaaaay back to the west of the structure, on the 3rd floor, you might be surprised and delighted by the healthier, more affordable, options at Seasoning Alley. I came in around lunchtime and saw 2 - yes, TWO - other people sitting inside and enjoying a quiet lunch of delicious Mediterranean dishes and in-depth conversation. I don't think they were tourists. In fact, this might be the best kept secret of anyone who works or lives in this Hollywood neighborhood. I know if I lived close by, Seasoning Alley would easily be a standard go-to for delicious dishes. I had perused their on-line menu before arriving, so as not to get carried away with my order. I tend to do this with, Greek/Lebanese Mediterranean food - LOVE IT! Online, they showed "Pita Bowls", warm rice and succulent meat served in an actual bowl made of pita bread. I liked the contents, but the pita bread bowl seemed too heavy. I was happy to see, thanks to fellow Yelper Jay T. of Los Angeles, who had just posted the current menu from this location days before, these bowl meals were served in regular bowls. Simple, rice, chicken or beef shawarma, tomatoes and garlic sauce. A generous portion(I split my bowl between lunch and dinner) and VERY tasty! I can never resist a grape leaf wrap and these dolmas are SO GOOD! I really appreciate that I can buy them individually. Four did me fine. But - OH! - the MUTABAL!!!!! Ah - MAH - ZING! Perfect balance of grilled eggplant smokiness, fresh garlic, tahini, lebni and lemon. I had every intention of JUST getting the 8oz, but boy was I glad I changed my mind and went with the 16oz for $2 more. I was surprised to find four whole pita breads in my to go bag, so I was a happy, roasted eggplant dippin', dolma eating fool for a couple of days! But here's a tip for the budget and health-minded: they offer a side gyro, a la carte, for just $5! Add a couple of dolma for $1.25 each and you'll be satisfied and satiated for about $8! This is quality food, made fresh! Healthy eating that won't cost an arm OR a leg! Seasoning Alley is absolutely on my radar now. Cheers! "CC"
