I'm not sure why Albertsons puts in 9 registers when they never have more than 2-3 checkers. May as well install a bigger parking lot and fence it off so you can't use it. I really had a bad experienced to shop here, I was trying to ask a staff to help me, but she just ignored me. She just ignored as i was invisible even thought I was just right next to her and saying"excuse me" for so many times. Fine whatever, I was really unhappy with it. I usually stop at this Albertsons when someone in the house isn't feeling well. It's the quickest option to pop in, and find just the right over the counter medication they need. YES this store is expensive but, you receive great service. I remember coming when I has young girl and now as an adult and some of the same employees are there and still see how I am doing and if they can help. They also are very accommodating. I needed a cake for last minute but I kind of wanted to make it myself but I wanted a cute topping so I asked if I could just buy a topping even though they aren't suppose to but they allowed me to buy it at a low price. I picked a cake out from their website, brought a picture in, no problem I was assured. I asked it be ready the next Sunday at 10 am. I arrived 10:05. Bakery worker gossiping with a coworker says oops, I'm not done yet, give me 10 mins. I did a little shopping, went back to the bakery. She's still chatting, says oops, give me 10 more minutes. So I stood by the counter for 15 more minutes. She isn't done. Party was starting, I had to leave. I sent my dad back 20 mins later to pick it up. It arrives and is the wrong cake design. Why did I bother? Ridiculous. You had a picture, explicit instructions, and a scheduled pickup time. Failure on all counts. It did taste good, so there's that. read more

This market is outdated. They need to renovate it. The staff is nice but you can tell they are always short handed. I have to put the groceries in the cart my self after the checker is ringing and bagging them. I'm lucky if someone comes and helps finish bagging and putting items in my cart. One of the helpers saw me doing this he didn't bother to come help I guess he figured if I was doing it he didn't have to. And a HUGE 1 star a lot of items are expired (check the exp date before you buy) always expect this place to be empty. read more

BRING BACK SELF CHECK OUT STANDS- This store has never really been my "go to" because of their prices, but I did shop here out of convenience because it is down the street from my house. I would go here when I needed to pick something up quickly. I have noticed that since they removed the self check out stands their lines are ridiculous most times . When they first removed the check out stands I asked why they were removed and I was told that it was to promote customer service and face to face interaction. Well, I can say as a customer I don't think their intervention has increased customer interaction or satisfaction. The cashiers are not very personable and have no sense of urgency. All this has done is added more frustration to my day when I'm just trying to get on with my life. I have decided not to come here anymore because of this . The only reason I give this store 2 stars is because I once won a rotisserie chicken here for participating in a game. read more

I've shopped at this Albertson's for 17 years, and it is by far the nicest, friendliest and most helpful group of supermarket employees I've ever encountered. I read some of these reviews and just have to laugh, because what market DOESN'T occasionally have expired merchandise? There's three other markets within my driving radius, and I will always keep coming back here. Great store, with great people working there. read more

Fresh produce- excellent selection, fresh and well priced. Meats and hot and ready foods (i.e.. chicken wings/mash potatoes) decent price for large quantity. Nice selection of seafoods and red meats. Everything else-overpriced. It seems that the charge an extra 1-3$ on everything. Compared to places like Walmart or Stater Bros. everything is basically at least 10-15% higher in price. The mark ups are not too extreme, though if on a tight budget or if you are planning to get a lot of items do not come here... Basically you pay an extra 2 dollars here on most items (except meat and produce) compared to most other grocers, which can add up very quickly. All food was of decent quality with very few to no items past expiration. Service was great, cashiers are pleasant and sociable. read more

This is absolutely the worse run market I've ever been to. Every time I go in here no matter what time they always have long lines. Management here is terrible. They really need to be respectful of clients time. They need to take some lessons and learn from Trader Joe's. Trader Joe's really understands customer service. So unhappy today, and actually, the last few times. I've shopped there. Today, walked in - very lively, balloons entry - free bag. Service good at deli. Then, I needed a rump roast. Went to meat department, did not see any. Went to meat counter- one person working. While she was tenderizing meat for a customer, I politely said 'do you have any rump roasts' she said they'd be out there. Said there weren't any. I went back and looked again. After waiting the first time for quite a while, she helped another customer. I then asked if anyone else was working. She said no. Told her no rump roast - she went to the back - thought she was going to check - walked right by me - said absolutely nothing as I stood there. I then asked her - anything? She said NO. She asked me if it was on the ad because they were only going to start carrying certain items. Walked out. Went to Stater Brothers. There weren't any - they offered to cut one for me. I waited a few minutes. Boom. Got it. Why couldn't Albertson's do this???? 25 year loyal customer. Guess I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

Check your receipt before you leave because the cashiers here throw on some extra items that you didn't even bring to the register. One of the cashiers charged me for a soda but no one in front of me or in back had a soda in their cart. It makes me think that she charged me for a soda that she wanted for herself and kept it.On top of that the service here is slow. I could of drove to a different store got the same items and be out quicker than here.Long story short just make sure you watch what they are charging you and don't let your money go to waste. read more

The service here is pretty good. They usually get everything right. The lines dont move too fast but it is acceptable. I mean, even though they have way less cashier booths, they have six self service stations which is, in my opinion really good. The quality of products is most of the time perfeftly normsl but sometimes it can be a bit bad. The prices. Oh the prices. Their prices seem a bit high sometimes cinsidering what they are and how much they're selling but a lot of the stuff i buy there (drinks, food, confetti guns, and other various school equipment.) The only thing that seems overpriced are the school supplies. i mean, you have to cough up about 8 bucks for 2 pens. Thats pretty ridiculous. Other than that, i havw nothing else to say. read more

I've been going to this place since 2001. This year, I noticed a change. Today, I made the decision not to go back ever again. Here is why: 1) They have a cashier who never greets you. (Paul) 2) They only have 2 cashiers, and the lines are way too long. 3) Today, I wanted to purchase a vegetable broth, but it was hidden in the back of the shelf. I could not reach it. I asked the cashier for help, and he called someone. I went back to the aisle waiting for help. Nobody came. They had 4 young employees in the front. 4) In the vegetables/fruits area, the only place where you could find a plastic bag was against the wall. I heard 2 customers complaining they had to walk a great deal to get a plastic bag. It seemed like the person working there did not know he/she had to put plastic bags in different spots of that area. Hasta la Vista Albertsons! read more

I LOVE all the fresh produce you can get at Albertson's. This is my go to grocery store. Today I was very disappointed by the service deli, a lady named Janette. She was so rude. She kept cutting me off when I was trying to speak and didn't give a shit about the customers. She said she was too busy to help me. When I arrived at the counter she saw me and didn't even say anything. No greeting or no " I'll be right with you." I'm glad she wasn't the one that ended up helping me because I would be afraid of her spitting in my food or rubbing it on the floor! read more

On Saturday 8/27 I was in the Albertsons in Chino Hills on Grand Ave. there was a female customer ahead of me in line to pay. She was clean and dressed nicely. When she left and it was my turn the cashier and the person bagging started to make really awful comments about the customer who just left. When I commented it was not very nice to gossip about customers they attempted to justify this behavior by telling me how "strange" the lady was. I was at a loss for words. I have been a loyal customer of this Albertsons for nearly 24 years, spending a minimum of $100 weekly. I have always known that I have to check very closely for expiration dates, as they've always sold outdated items, especially dairy, however, I know this going in and don't really mind, and know that I am not going to get quick or friendly service at the butcher counter. But recently, the staff has completely changed over and not for the better. Today I spent $116 on groceries and the check out girl never uttered a single word to me, not even a thank you. Service is completely gone and so am I. I will drive further and give my money to Stater Brothers, they at least are gracious with anxious to help and very happy staff. read more

Jesus the cake decorator at Albertsons in Chino Hills did an amazing job on a twinkle twinkle little star baby shower cake and cupcakes. The store would be my preferred place to shop if it didn't smell like fish all the time. There is no place to escape the nasty odor in there. It lingers in about every aisle and it makes me gag. Just moved to Chino hills a couple months ago and have visited this Albertsons twice. First time I went it was just an ok experience. But the second visit was highly disappointing. When I walked in the store I noticed there was fire wood on sale near the exit doors. So I picked up the items in store first and planned on getting firewood while purcahsing at the check out. After getting my items I went to the cash register and Cashier Bob or Bill (one of those names) was taking care of customers . Unfortunately his customer service towards me was sub par at best. I informed him that I wanted to purchase firewood from out front and that the sign stated it was $7.99. He gave me an iritated look and told me each batch is a different price. Not true. They were all the same price. I asked him if I can run and go grab a couple while checking out and he said no. I can finish this checkout and then go to the self check out with someone's help. Mind you, the bagging associate was standing there the whole time and she could have easily, upon Bob's request, grabbed some firewood and Bob could have rang up the items. This would be good service. Unfortunately after making the initial purchase while walking to get a cart for my firewood I walked by a store manager ( older Hispanic gentlemen ) and he purposely avoided making eye contact with me, seemingly to avoid smiling or even regarding his customer. After finding a cart and loading my firewood I went to the self check out, as directed by Bob, and stood there for 5 minutes until another associate happened to walk by. I had to flag her down for help because the logs needed to be input with a code. A task for employees not customers. Mind you I was told someone would help me at the self check out. I'm not the type to write poor reviews or try to get folks in trouble. But this experience was so bad I felt something needed to be said. From the looks of it this store is going down hill and training, or lack thereof, in customer service is a major cause. read more
