Today my kids and I went through the lane to check out. The cashier was extremely rude more than once. When I asked questions she snapped at me. Then she looked up and I saw she's clearly on something. Her eyes were glossed over. She's very unhappy and it shows. She put a damper on our day but that won't get us down. We spent $150 to get treated like that? Short blonde white young girl, bigger build. Lane 3 I think. Happy 4th of July! A very beautifully huge clean store with a delicious deli. I'm sad they don't have hot breakfast burritos but they do have fresh hot baked chicken, fried chicken and a variety of boneless or bone in wings! I loved the hot wing bar and I got buffalo boneless and I think the other is honey or bbq boneless. I like all flavor of wings and was happy to see 2 flavors in boneless! I got both and a bag of salad which is my go to lunch. I also got a scoop of bacon cauliflower ranch from the cold salad case. All the Halloween makeup is half off so I'll come back next week cuz I saw a kit I want but I'm hoping it may go lower. The ac is on great here and I really enjoyed shopping at this huge clean fresh store. Very beautiful location and great selection of produce and deli items . I shop here regularly and I think it's a decent grocery store. Items are easy to find. Staff are friendly and eager to help with any issues. The self-checkout is fast and efficient. Only reason why I give it four stars is because one of the staff members was in charge of the self-checkout area and completed reviews for the customers without asking for input. Conveniently located along the Carefree Highway. It has a Starbucks and is easily accessible from the highway. I stopped at this location both coming and going from traveling to visit a friend in Phoenix. I did a little bit of shopping while there one time and was able to find what I wanted. Wow this place has really gone down hill since the old store manager Chris Durant retired. They have some really bizarre cashiers working here. One is named Kristi and I saw her actually chase down a customer throughout the store because they walked behind her cash register. Meanwhile customers stood there and watched this strange scene unfold. Other cashiers seem irritated when people go through their line instead of using self checkout. I have been a Safeway customer for over 50 years and have generally been quite satisfied with the quality of service. However, my experience at Albertsons Store #4 on Carefree Highway a few minutes ago was so negative that I decided that it deserved a review (and I rarely give reviews on Yelp). I had scanned the bar codes on the few sale items I had selected exactly as one is supposed to. I also entered my telephone number at the checkout when advised to do so. However, the cash register (computer) did not show the discount. I showed the cashier the information on my phone that showed what the actual charges should have been. The cashier looked at my phone attempting to figure it out, but was unable to do so. There was NO apology for the situation and I was told to go to Customer Service because I was holding up the line. The gentleman behind me said to me, "Good Luck!" I then proceeded to Customer Service and showed the young lady my receipt and phone with the information. She was less than gracious. She looked at the newspaper ad and handed me $12.07 in cash. No asking, "Do you want this back on your card, Sir?" which I assumed would take place. Again no smile, no apology. I realize that it is warming up here in Phoenix and that it affects some folks' attitudes, however I was extremely cordial to both employees. I am new in this area, and based on my experience at Albertsons, which is conveniently located, I believe I will return to Fry's where I have shopped previously and was treated with cheerful smiles. read more

Hunter in the meat department is the most friendly individual! I was looking for a specific steak, there were none of that cut, he proceeded to go cut up a few to provide me with multiple options. He conveyed extreme professionalism, had a great bun smile and was extremely polite! They are extremely lucky to have him on the team! Take care of the guy please! I think I haven't visited this store since the bad cheese three years ago. Actually I did. That was the time that a truck pulling a boat was parked right in front of the store in the fire lane and they were loading their ice and other essentials for a day on the lake. I saw a lady almost get hit because another car was maneuvering around the jerks who couldn't park their truck/boat in the parking lot (there's plenty of room) but they'd rather block traffic to accomplish their task. The manager happened to be in the cart area, just as I was entering and he could see these customers taking up the fire lane where it's clearly not a loading zone (what if everyone did this? - took up the lane to load their groceries?) I asked him if he'd told them to move and he said "no, they'll be done at some point." This apathy really inspired me to call the corporate offices. Guess what - the gentleman there didn't care either. So I've taken my business always elsewhere. read more

Scheduled an online appointment for a vaccine, arrived to find the Pharmacy closed. Asked if was going to open, was supposed to be open an hour ago, customer service said it will not be open today. I scheduled my appointment hours ahead of time, clicked "yes" box to receive text updates regarding the appointment and any changes. And received zero communication about them closing/canceling the appointment. Planned to do my grocery shopping after, but was so frustrated I just left. Don't trust their pharmacy to be dependable for any needs you might have. read more

Not sure how this posted to the wrong location...this is NOT for the Carefree Hwy location. It's for 8240 W Deer Valley. I have been a loyal Albertsons shopper since 1991. Over the past year I've noticed a huge decline in the service provided at the Deer Valley and 83rd Ave location in Peoria AZ. Not all areas... mostly the deli. The deli crew is never appropriately staffed leaving these mostly young adults to prepare all the special order trays, cooking the hot foods, and serving customer's deli orders. I've never seen a store manager giving them any sort of help. Some of the deli staff can be a bit cranky, and I can't blame them. The last time I was in the store on the morning Saturday 8/19. There were just two deli workers as is typically the case on busy Saturdays. They were clearly frantically working on party trays/sandwiches etc. Right in front of me a store manager (not sure if the name but probably in his 50's with facial hair) went back there to bust the chops of one of the workers. It wasn't loud but the body language was obvious. He didn't pull up his sleeves to help at all. I felt so bad for the worker that was clearly working her tail off. I often have to wait quite some time before these poor kids can get to taking my order. I've made comments to managers and it's always the same answer, they can't get the help they need. Weirdly, when I go to Fry's or Sprouts they have numerous deli workers prepping and serving customers. I've been patient for quite some time but I will be taking my business to Fry's and Sprouts where they clearly pay more and provide their deli staff with better coverage. For the record...the vast majority of the staff are very friendly and accommodating. Perhaps if they make some improvements I will reconsider going back. read more

Saturday night 6:30 pm - zero registers open and 3-4 employees standing around doing nothing - so with 40 items I tried to do self check out - after about 20 some items apparently one of the items didn't scan correctly and I had to wait for "service" after a few minutes I just left - there's a fry's closer to my house this was a waste of time read more

Poor Customer Service. My boyfriend went to cash a insurance check there. Granted it said on the sign behind the rep that they do in fact cash insurance checks. When the Customer Service Rep looked at the check, she said "I'm not cashing this" My boyfriend asked to speak to a manager at that point. My boyfriend went to get back his ID when she snapped at him to leave it on the counter. He said he would like to hold it while the manager was on their way. When the manager came, my boyfriend explained the situation the manager. The manager took the ID and check and told him "I'm not cashing this, leave now" My boyfriend wanted a simple explanation on why he couldn't cash his check as there was never a problem before with him cashing a check anywhere. The manager said again "I'm not going to ask you again... Leave now!" A manager threatening someone to leave a store over a check is uncalled for and unprofessional for the manager to act like that. My boyfriend was being nice and only called the manager in the first place because your customer service rep was rude. We will never bring our business to your store ever and will continue to shop at Fry's. read more

I had to pick up some premade cookie dough to bake at an open house in my real estate business. I picked up two packages, and the second package I picked up was moldy. Then I checked the date, and it turns out that it was about three months past its expiration. So I drove 12 miles back to the store to get my refund and to maybe buy another package. Went to the Customer Service , returned my cookie dough, the service manager (woman) looked at it, she acknowledged the problem, gave me my money back. Not one "sorry for the inconvenience", not even "here is your refund". NOTHING. She just marked off my receipt, and gave me the two dollars and change back. She clearly knew I could communicate because I just explained what happened. I have always tried to shop here instead of Fry's, because I felt like Albertsons was a bit of the "underdog". I will not return if at all possible, and go to other stores from now on. My suggestion to the management - hire people that are more customer service oriented. I was going to buy a replacement, but the worker didn't even offer to have an employee go get it for me. Every little action counts. In this case, it was the lack of the action that turned me off. read more

Meat is very poor quality, most prices are 30-50% higher than elsewhere and now you have to download an app and scan a sign to get the sale price. Do you feel like doing that for every sale price? I don't. So they get you to pay full price that way. No thanks. Then you have to check out yourself and bag yourself. It's got a discount grocer feel with inflated prices. A big shout out to employee Johnny who walked up and asked me if he could help get my groceries in the car. I recently had rotor cuff surgery on the left arm and fractured the right arm and was struggling but did not have a cast on. I guess he could just see I was having a tough time. What a relief, he even rolled the cart out and asked how I wanted the groceries arranged in the trunk. I appreciate acts of kindness. Even though i live a mere 1.37 minutes away, I only go here if I am just too lazy at the moment to drive 7 minutes to Fry's, or 12 minutes to Safeway on Happy Valley. And NEVER for a full grocery-buying experience - only a toothbrush. Or deodorant. Or Tostito's cheese dip - hey we all have our guilty pleasures... The prices here are a joke. Like, literally. I thought they were joking, considering I can buy the same (or better) products at higher end stores for the same price. They have some incredible deals on some items, so i am sure if you do the price comparison thing it would be good. I always see sales on ribs there and meat in general. It makes me question the quality if you can always give one away for free... The employees at the Starbucks inside are uneducated on some of the drinks you can get at any other location. What ticked me off the most about this was that I like to pay with my phone at Starbucks. "Oh sorry, I hope you aren't paying with your phone, because we can't do that." What?! I asked if I could read the numbers on the card and they would type it in and was even told "No, sorry." Uh, ok. Screw you then. I dropped my son's prescription off at 10 in the morning, telling them I would be back at noon to pick it up. "No problem," they say. Was it ready at noon? No. Was it ready at 5:30 PM, the next available chance of me picking it up? No. Sigh... The staff in the actual store seems nice enough, I suppose. Not enough to warrant making this my one-stop-shop. The customers are usually not terrible like you see in some other stores, but some people seem to come here out of the "deep" New River (if you know what I'm saying) and only have concerns of buying large quantities of cheap beer. They tend to be a little more rude when it comes to not hitting you with their large lifted truck in the parking lot (on 2 occasions...) That's a story for next time. This location is only a minute from my house, but I always drive to another store. Sometimes even Walmart (eep!). Twice now, I've set my basket down and given up, it's just that bad. First, the good. The cashiers are always excellent. Friendly, efficient, and experienced. And the customers are pretty good as well. No drunks, etc. Now the bad. The prices are significantly higher than the rest of the North Valley. I can (and do) shop at Whole Foods in north Scottsdale for the same price I pay here. The selection of food is ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous. I once took a friend (a professional chef) through, just to figure out what the problem was. They just don't have any food we'd actually eat. You get halfway through putting a recipe together, and find out they don't have some very basic ingredients. Their produce is basic, and unimpressive. They may as well not have a deli. read more

I do like Albertsons more than some other grocery stores. Definitely much better produce and meat than going to Super Wal-Mart! I'm always able to find everything I need for my recipes and the produce is always fresh. My one complaint is the bathroom. I usually shop with small children, so I use the restrooms there quite a bit. It's always kind of yucky, but I guess all grocery store bathrooms are. read more

I love Albertsons. When I lived in West Los Angeles it was my grocery store. When I moved to Flagstaff it was grocery store but they closed it down. So now when I'm in Phoenix I go to Albertsons whenever I find one. This location has a Starbucks inside which makes it even better. read more
