Still one of my favorites! Great steak sandwich. Great cocktails. Great service! Parking is a bit challenging.

Not sure if it's just me being completely over steakhouses or not, but the food didn't quite live up to the hype. My bf has been here once before taking me and he said it was amazing. So, we went back & he said it wasn't as great as the first time. Steak and sides were pretty good, but I'm just over going to a steakhouse. Steak was cooked correctly, probably could've used a tin but more salt. Server was nice. Seems like a place locals like to go & the crowd is older peeps.

Stopped by ALC Steaks for date night with my husband and had a great time. Our server was Brandon E and he was awesome - so professional, polite, attentive, had great suggestions, etc. Five gold stars for him! APPS: (1) Almost Famous Crab Cakes; with a name like this, I thought they'd be next level, but was let down. So I guess they lived up to the name. (2) Crispy Fried Gulf Oyster; YUM, Yum, Yum. Highly recommend. MEAL: (1) Caesar salad; easily one of the best, if not THE best, Caesar I've had in Austin. Highly recommend. (2) 12 oz Ribeye Medium -- my husband and I split this and it was nice that the kitchen separated the steaks for us rather than us trying to divvy it up at the table. However, it came out Medium Rare so my husband had to eat most of my portion. I personally wished for more seasoning on the steak too but we ordered 4 sauces to try out so that helped. (2a) SAUCES - They charge for sauces but offer a sampler of 4 for $12 (you save $1 doing that) but the portion was bigger than I expected so that was nice. We ordered the Chimichurri, Still Austin Bourbon, ALC Sauce and Jalapeño Blue Cheese. The Chimichurri was very bitter - we spit our food out with that one, unfortunately. I didn't have the Jalapeño Blue Cheese, but it was my husband's favorite. The ALC Sauce was my favorite - very traditional and recognizable flavors. The Still Austin Bourbon was one we were indifferent about. (2b) SIDES: the steak came with one side then we ordered a second side so we ended up with hash browns and the Brussels sprouts. The hash browns were, unfortunately, inedible - all you could taste was oil, whereas the brussel sprouts were delicious.

Excellent steaks that were cooked perfectly. The server was very friendly and the steaks were huge! Everything is bigger in Texas! The pecan pie crust was very crunchy and fresh. I appreciated the fact that they had Port on their menu. The ambience is great as well. This was everything that I hoped for when visiting Texas.

I came here with a large party and I absolutely love the ambiance of the place. It was extremely busy but our male servers were extremely attentive, prompt and professionally dressed and extremely attractive. Yall did great job there! We had a pre fix menu and I selected the southwest salad, my entree was the grilled chicken with creamy poblano sauce and mashed potatoes. The chicken was so dry and mashed potatoes needed salt but nevertheless I still enjoyed the food! Also, the appetizers were the stars of the show!! I was blown away it was so so good. The fried mushrooms, goat cheese stuffed poblanos, warm rolls, shrimp cocktail and lamb chops covered in hot sauce with the blue cheese sauce was incredible! Finishing the meal with the brownie pie was the cherry on top! Great work ALC! Just work on a nice marinade for the chicken so it doesn't come out dry please. Can't wait to come back!

Came here to celebrate dual birthdays (yay, us!) It's been years since I've been here and it hasn't changed at all. And it should. Our server was very loud, not the professional, well trained server I'd expect at a classy steakhouse. Strict rules about no burgers in the dining room, only in the bar, and unfortunately, that was what my dining companion craved. A chopped steak was not a good substitute, and my salmon was meh--way too salty and overcooked. They use their steak seasoning on the salmon and it wasn't a good match. The baked potato was served barely warm with waaay too much butter (and i like butter). The brussels sprouts side was the best dish of the night. Rather than a celebratory dessert, our server haphazardly and belatedly handed us a card (printed with signatures of staff members; there must be a stack of them and he just grabbed two) and a small container of their house-made steak seasoning (which, as I already pointed out, was not that great, as it is mostly salt). The whole experience was rather sad and a disappointment.

This place was pretty nice inside. Staff was on top of keeping our waters and drinks taken care of. We tried the buffalo lamb chops which was an interesting combo. The flatbread pizza appetizer was pretty amazing. Our main course with the steak and sides were good. Steak was cooked just right and lightly seasoned. The brussel sprouts had great flavor. I had mashed potatoes on the side and they were ok. I do appreciate how they don't over salt anything.

An old school Austin classic steakhouse with a small, always-hopping bar, ALC is one of my favorites. The happy hour is the thing for me. The ribeye steak sandwich is, well, a beautiful small ribeye dropped on some bread with LTP. It's simple and perfect and such a HH deal at $13. The martinis, both Mexican and dirty, absolutely slap. And if you're lucky, Bo will be working and he is just the best!

My review is perfect for anyone who seeks an intimate space with a limited number of friends to celebrate a particular milestone or event. Apart from a large dining room, they do have some areas set aside for privacy....but first.......This steakhouse is located right on Lamar Boulevard in a strip center just across from the tavern. It has literally been here for decades and is approaching 700 reviews. If you're coming here for drinks, the bar area is very small, cramped and loud. Now for the good news.... I came here with many of my coworkers for a special dinner. They do have a private dining room for such events which will hold up to 30 people. Since there was so many of us, they created a special menu for our group. The first thing that arrived were baskets of warm rolls and butter follwed by apps of shrimp and fried mushrooms which were exceptional. The salad was also fresh and everyone loved their filets and sides. The quality of the filet was tender enough to cut with a fork. Even the salmon was properly prepared for a steak house. The service was on point by experienced servers. The brownie pie dessert was served warm slowly melting the ice cream and the berries and cream were super fresh. In short, we had a fantastic evening of food and wine with perfect service. Check out the photos below, which will only have you making your reservation.

Can't even count the number of times I've driven by this place without realizing what this building was! We came with some friends earlier this month on a random weekday, so can't speak to how busy it can get. Was surprised at how big this restaurant is for its location, and the low-lighting and ambience was top notch. Got the 16 oz ribeye along with the truffle mac and cheese. No regrets! Every single bite oozed with juicy perfection, I have no notes. Obviously a bit pricey, but the meal was worth it. Most definitely would recommend for a fancy evening, special occasion, or celebration. But I'd say this is more of a four-dollar-sign spot

So we thought we would make a whole night of it. Tiffany did make reservations for us for 7pm and even though this is a bar hopping neighborhood, even at 7pm it was pretty busy. Streets were full of people. Anthem had a vibe. I felt the energy as soon as I waked in. The cozy booths with the U shaped seating with plush green velvet fabric. Wait staff wore Hawaiian shirts. Sitting up behind me on a ledge was the Easter Island statue. Insert (Night At The Museum) here, dumb dumb give me gum gum. Anthem was our first stop tonight. Just drinks and a dinner. I ordered the Peach Fuzzy drink. Not too sweet, refreshing, peachy, and beautiful garnish of a flower. I ordered the Yummy Fries which looked like a salad. Gorgeous presentation. Fries were actually waffle sweet potatoes. Pickled ginger, sesame seeds, furikake, aïoli and a few other wonderful ingredients. Could not get over how beautiful everything looked. Presentation outstanding. Service delightful. Had a wonderful time at Anthem. We both did use the ladies rooms before leaving. Inside the bathroom there is a sign about safety and if you need assistants. I did take a picture of it. On our way out, Brian the manager, said good night to us and waved. Updating my review after giving Aba a second chance about nine months later…read more I'm honestly really glad I came back. This time we went in knowing exactly what we liked from our first visit and focused on sharing appetizers, which ended up being the move. We ordered several dishes for the table and left completely full and happy. The whipped feta is still a must-order and every bit as good as I remembered. The Greek village salad was fresh and delicious, and the hummus was also great. The biggest surprise for me was the falafel. As an Arab, I'm usually pretty skeptical when restaurants outside of Middle Eastern spots serve falafel because it rarely lives up to expectations. Aba absolutely nailed it. It was flavorful, perfectly cooked, and one of my favorite dishes of the meal. We sat outside this time, which made for a really nice atmosphere. The service was also a huge improvement from my first experience. Even though the restaurant was busy, our waitress was incredibly kind, attentive, and made us feel well taken care of throughout the meal. I'm happy to say my opinion has completely changed since my first visit. Giving Aba another chance was definitely worth it, and it has officially earned a spot on my Austin rotation whenever I'm in town.

The beef tenderloin kebab and steak frites were both excellent, and the whipped feta was easily our favorite dish--definitely a must-order. My only complaint is that some of the portions felt small for the price. The Greek Village Salad wasn't worth it in my opinion; for about $20, it was mostly large chunks of tomatoes, cucumber, onion, and feta. Parking on South Congress can also be a bit of a hassle. Overall, the food and ambiance were great. I'd come back, but I wouldn't be rushing to do so.

The food was flavorful and well-executed overall. My only exception was the burrata, as I wasn't a fan of the sauce it was served with. The biggest drawback was the portion sizes. While everything tasted good, the portions felt quite small for the price point. The food is definitely on the expensive side, and I left feeling that the value didn't quite match the cost. That said, the beautiful atmosphere, stunning views, excellent service, and tasty food still made for a great experience. The first thing that stood out was the beautiful ambiance. The restaurant offers both stunning indoor and outdoor seating, making it perfect for any occasion. Since we planned to bring our dog, we called ahead to confirm outdoor seating availability. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted and promptly guided to the outdoor patio. Before we even had a chance to ask, the staff brought a bowl of water for our dog, which was such a thoughtful gesture. Another touch that made the evening special was that the staff acknowledged our son's birthday upon arrival and presented him with a birthday card signed by team members. It was a simple but incredibly sweet gesture that made him feel celebrated. For drinks, my husband ordered the Swedish Fish Punch, while I enjoyed the Family Business German Pilsner. For appetizers, we shared the Burrata and a salad that is no longer on the menu. The salad featured cashew butter and was absolutely delicious. Both appetizers were beautifully prepared, flavorful, and generously portioned for the three of us. For the main course, we decided to share two dishes. I wanted to try a vegetarian option, and our server was extremely helpful, offering several menu items that could be modified. I chose the Mafaldine pasta, and I couldn't have been happier with my choice. It was rich, flavorful, and unlike any pasta dish I've had before. Every bite was outstanding. My son ordered the salmon, which was equally delicious and perfectly cooked. Both dishes were satisfying and filling. Since we wanted to save room for dessert, sharing the entrees turned out to be the perfect decision. We ordered the Pistachio Crème Brûlée and Sticky Toffee Pudding, and the restaurant also surprised our son with a complimentary birthday cake complete with a candle. All three desserts were exceptional and a perfect ending to the meal. Eberly is definitely a high-end dining destination and an excellent choice for special occasions, celebrations, or gatherings with family and friends. The indoor and outdoor spaces are beautiful and spacious, the service is attentive and thoughtful, and every dish felt carefully crafted with unique flavors and attention to detail. What impressed me most was that every aspect of the experience--from the hospitality to the food and special touches--felt intentional and genuine. We left feeling celebrated, well-fed, and already looking forward to our next visit.

Always fresh and delicious! We came in at 2pm and were served about 15 minutes later! The fruit…read morewas fresh and ripe! The turkey avocado sandwich (my husband enjoyed it) and the hot chicken sandwich was so good ( a little spicy but very well seasoned! My 9 yr old daughter had the chicken fingers kids meal (not pictured). She enjoyed it but the portions for the kids meal are a bit small so keep that in mind. All in all, we will definitely be back to try new items!

With a point system to accrue benefits over time, and at each visit, and impressive happy hour specials for both food and drinks, it's hard not to visit more than once. Every member of service either greeted us, or supported our needs with a smile. Calvin, especially, made sure every step of our experience from walking in through ordering was special. While we didn't indulge in the beverages, we enjoyed the $10 burger special which also came with fries! We paired this with a side of a $6 Caesar Salad (really tasty and thrown together with thinly sliced cabbage, roasted chickpeas, and popcorn chicken). Next time, I'd really love to try the truffle mac and cheese (which was also on HH). We weren't aware of the upcharge for swapping out the slice of American for Cheddar (+$1.50), which would've been nice to know ahead of time, since we both got burgers and wondered about the swap...but lesson learned. Also, BIG lesson learned...the parking validation is for only two hours! We were having such a lovely time at Dish Society, but exceeded the 2 hrs (by an extra hour) and got charged a significant amount for parking. Next time, we will certainly park on the street. We tried reasoning with the parking attendant and they wanted no business in understanding we were patrons of the restaurant. It was certainly an unexpected shock, and didn't leave the best final touch of our evening (specifically in that parking garage). It's unfortunate that we got penalized for enjoying our time at dinner.

The happy hour menu offered a great variety, and we enjoyed the she-crab roll, jalapeño hush puppies, salmon with chimichurri, blistered green beans and several Peach Mezcalitas. Everything was delicious, but what truly made the experience stand out was the service we received from Levi. Levi was attentive, personable, and professional throughout our visit. He was a welcome refresher from my first experience here, and his excellent service did not go unnoticed. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and will definitely be back.

A lot of different items on the menu and personally nothing stood out We tried the burger - standard burger with cheese and lettuce pickle slaw The kale salad - kale with dressing and breadcrumbs and radish slices / pretty good but could've used something else Also tried the coffee roasted carrots - unfortunately our least favorite - very odd for us - pickled carrots with hummus and other items but not our favorite at all Service was fine - no issues there - food came out as ordered and within 20 mins Unfortunately they do not validate parking in the garage So do not park in the garage - super expensive Only valet Patio is super nice and dog friendly even have a dog menu!
