NEPOTISM, COCKROACHES, OPEN TOE SANDALS IN THE KITCHEN, HIRING PEDOPHILES, AND A 3% CHARGE FOR THE KITCHEN THAT DIDNT ACTUALLY GO TO THE KITCHEN (it went to the higher ups at Breckenridge) These are just a few things I saw while working at ale house for over 4 years. Keyes mueller is the current GM of ale house and also one of the least respected members of the staff. There are very few people in restaurant who like her and most just feel uncomfortable when they have to work around her. Keyes has one of the worst attitudes of any manager I have ever worked with and I feel bad for the staff that still has to deal with her, she also has shown the highest level of nepotism I have ever seen in a manager allowing her daughter sophia to avoid work, be rude to costumers, and take breaks however she wants- if this was any one else they would have been fired. Keyes also hired a registered sex offender to work in the kitchen who she later fired without warning after the servers did some digging of their own and found out the information. Then there's Jen the second in command. Jen is notorious for hiding in the office and not really doing anything, multiple times I saw Jen walking around the kitchen and the expo line in open toe sandals. Open toe anything is gross in a kitchen and should be unacceptable. The lack of overall cleanliness and food safety is probably why I've seen multiple cockroaches in the restaurant which I have video proof of. The 3% kitchen charge that you will find on your bill at ale house is complete bullshit. None of that money goes back to the kitchen it all goes to corporate and the higher ups. Speaking of the higher ups let's talk about one of the higher ups "syd s" a part owner of the bar and a certified piece of shit. Syd came in one time right after a server who had worked at ale house for 6+ years drowned in the river and knowing that we were closing early for a unexpected loss at the company still demanded to be served on the patio. A server with tears in her eyes served him while he sat there and enjoyed his wine being the only table left in the restaurant because we weren't allowed to tell him to leave. Also syd LOVES staring at young servers asses, I got to witness it first hand a couple times. One instance was when one of our pretty new servers ren delivered his food in the 700s (table numbers) and then I watched him stare at rens ass as she walked all the back to the bar, and it's not just her he did it to every pretty young server that served him. If one of the business managers is reading this and is wondering why I'm saying all this on yelp and not directly to you when I worked for the company for 4 years it's because the managers at ale house go out of there way to keep the numbers for ethics complaints hidden and are very disgruntled when you ask for the numbers. These are not false claims I have receipts and witnesses to everything I've said. There are some very nice people working at ale still but the people who run the show are shady. read more

We had such a great experience, but I especially have to give a huge shoutout to Lucas! He was hands down one of the best servers I have ever had anywhere. From the moment we sat down, he was incredibly friendly, polite, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care about making sure we had a great experience. He checked on us at all the right times without ever making us feel rushed or interrupted, and he was just so personable and kind. Great service can completely change a dining experience, and Lucas absolutely went above and beyond. It's rare to come across someone who is this naturally good at what they do. If you visit, ask for Lucas. You won't be disappointed! Thank you, Lucas, for taking such great care of us. You are truly exceptional at your job! read more

Highly disappointed. I called and made reservations for Mother's Day, May 14. I called 6 days before and reserved a table for 1pm for 7 adults. we arrived at 12:50pm and were told "we didn't plan for a rush so your reservation will be an hour and a half to two hours wait". that's the entire point of a reservation to reserve a table. If you're going to offer it you need to honor it. It would have been one thing to wait 10-20 minutes but nearly 2hrs is ridiculous. As it was Mother's Day we could not find a place to eat without equally as long waits. Just upsetting that we didn't even get a courtesy call or warning. The staff was just like well it is what it is we are slammed. Terrible servive. read more

We are considering retiring in Grand Junction and have had a great time exploring local restaurants. The Ale House is our favorite stop so far. The ahi appetizer was amazing and the entrees were delicious and a generous serving. Our bartender Josie offered great beer suggestions and allowed me to try a selection of local wines and choose a favorite. She suggested local wineries to checkout and we are excited to explore more! We will definitely be returning to the Ale House though. read more

I went to the Ale House a few weeks ago and Kim was our server. She told us all about the Halloween Party that they were putting on and that she was doing the decorations and invited us to come check it out. Besides the FANTASTIC service we received that day, we DID come to check out the party. OH.MY.GOSH!!! She hit it out of the ball park! All I can say is for about 6 months every Thursday I would go in after work and have a couple beers. The bartenders quickly remembered my name, often prompted me with new beverages they new I would like, make me concoctions that they personally made that wasn't on the menu. The Ale House has good food for the most part. Sometimes they have their off days, but 9/10 times I've always enjoyed the food. read more

The five star rating is all because of our server, Kim. I hate that the Ale House keeps changing up the menus because I am a creature of habit. The only reason I keep coming back is because of Kim. Her memory is amazing, her skills rock and I absolutely LOVE how attentive she is! Even when she's swamped she makes sure to check in and lets us know we haven't been forgotten. Food, Drinks, Staff, and Ambiance were all great here! I very much enjoyed everything about my experience and while the pricing can be seen as higher, it is made up for by every aspect in this establishment! I should also mention that it was raining very hard when I was here and there was a small leak in the ceiling at my table, but we were not bothered since these things happen. read more

i dont usually make yelp reviews prefer to let the food critics with training do it but ale house is such a cool environment i cant help but praise it a little. they have live music, a big bar with a lot of energy and the service is very good. my server taylor got me samples and helped me pick the perfect beer and the band playing wasn't half bad either... just a fun vibe. read more

I love this place for lunch. I go at least once a week. The homemade food is the best! The drinks are so very good! Dustin is the best bartender I have ever had. He always know what I like for not only my drink but also my favorite foods. I enjoy all the people who work there. They are more like friends to me. Great place. The grandparents were visiting from out of town and man the ale house was just the best place to take them. Kenzie our server was fantastic. The ambiance was great and last but not least the food was just downright delicious. Excellent! We had to stay in Grand Junction and got in late. So many restaurants close at 8 pm so our search kept leading back to the Ale House. So fortunate it did. Great service, wonderful food (highly recommend the fish and chips) and not so loud that you can't sit and have a conversation while you eat. Will definitely go back. Highly recommend! read more

Best place to eat in town, always fresh food. Best beers on tap, but the beers are always changing. What I really enjoy is that there are all kinds of beers. Not just IPAs and a cpl of others. I enjoy going to Ale House. We call it our place. The food is always delicious, I love their home made soups. The hostess's are friendly, all the waitress and waiters are like friends. The food here is good but the server I had was AMAZING! Kim was witty, fun and sincere. Every time I go here I ask for her section and am sad when it's her day off. The Ale house has a great lunch menu. I enjoy the Tuna wrap for lunch and often have my team building and training lunches at the Ale House. Their selection of beer makes after work get togethers a blast. They brew their own beer and have seasonal batches that I look forward to enjoying. read more

I like this place more for the atmosphere than the food. We have been here a few times and its a fun place to get drinks, but the food leaves something to be desired. The food is not great but its not bad either just kind of in the middle. Love the outdoor patio with the lights!!!! read more
