I called Marti's Plumbing and they were over to my place in only about 20 minutes. Amazing. Daniel from Marti's was very polite and friendly and after a thorough inspection of the problem he gave me a quick no BS analysis and suggested what I felt to be a cost effective solution. Daniel's no-nonsense approach was refreshing and he took care of the job in a neat and professional manner. In the end he left his work area cleaner than from when he started. If I could give negative stars I would. The short summary is they were so ignorant of local code…read morethat they did work that I now need to pay someone else to undo. After realizing their mistake the manager on my project stopped being responsive and skipped town. That was after promising to "make things right". This was for an outdoor project that required running a sink drain with proper drainage into the sewer system, as required by local code. I awarded them the contract based on how they stated they would accomplish this, which was to run the new drain line directly to the sewer line outside of the house footprint. When they started the project, without discussing any changes, they proceeded to tap into the sewer lines in my crawl space, digging a huge trench (3 feet wide) to accomplish this. BUT, for another change I didn't ask for, they decided to run hot and cold water lines from under my crawlspace, and do this in the same trench as the sewer line. That isn't allowed by code. There are additional code requirements as well they weren't aware of, such as needing to install new backflow prevention as a result. On learning this while attempting to go through the permit process, they assured me they'd "make it right", though became less and less responsive, finally skipping town and becoming completely unresponsive. In addition to having no idea about local code and costing me thousands in bad work and needing to pay a separate plumber to set this right, they acted with complete disregard for my property. One example is in running pipe out of my crawlspace. Unlike all other contractors I've used (electrical, cable, ...), instead of just cutting a small hole in the crawlspace access screens for the new pipe, they tore the entire screen out. This allowed rats to enter my crawlspace and infest my home. Another is that the trench they dug is the worst I've ever seen, opening up a 3 ft wide area just to run some piping. Bottom line, don't let these folks anywhere near your property - especially for anything requiring any outdoor work.

I'm a retired senior and it's so nice to find a totally honest and generous plumbing company. I had my garbage disposal installed (at a great price) and when I made the appointment I had forgotten to mention about my toilet, which was intermittently running at times. Before he left I asked Jose if he could just check it out. He fiddled with it for a while and, of course, when I watched as he was there it was fine but then began acting up the next time it was used. I called Hugo and got a callback within a few minutes. I couldn't believe it but as soon as Jose was finished with the job he was working on, he came back. He ended up replacing the fill valve with a new, better one. When I ask how much I owed him, he said "Nothing". Of course, I had paid for the disposal installation but figured I owed more since he had to come back, but he said "Nothing". Such a refreshing experience in this sometimes dog-eat-dog world.

We had a problem with the faucet in our bathtub that was leaking water so we called a plumber out…read morethat we've used in the past. And he quoted us $1200 to fix the problem. So, we decided to get another opinion and was referred to Hugo with Fast Repipe and Plumbing in San Jose. Hugo arrived at the appointment time a little early and communicated via text that he was a little early and he could wait if that was better for us or could come in right away. And we told them to come in right away. This was a positive first impression because it was a totally respectful way to treat a potential client. One of the things that we liked about Hugo is he was an excellent communicator. He asked good questions and listened carefully to our answers. He then took apart the faucet and described the repair process and any potential problems that might arise to getting the plumbing repaired. Basically, the 'cartridge' that controls the faucets on, off & flow of water needed to be replaced. Because of hard water deposits, the first plumber could not remove it and hence the $1200 quote. Fortunately, Hugo was able to remove the old 'cartridge' & make the leak repair that was substantially less than what we were quoted by the first plumber. In summary, Hugo is a good guy. He's easy to deal with. He's an excellent communicator and we highly recommend him for any of your plumbing needs. We will call Hugo again if we need any plumbing work done in the future.
