Happy Hour is dope. Had a number of Old Fashioneds, which were very good. My date ordered from the signature cocktail menu. He really enjoyed the Purple Rain. He enjoyed the Muy Caliente less. For appetizers, we shared the Prosciutto Flatbread and the Spinach Artichoke dip. The flatbread was really good. The dip was kind of trash. Honestly, we could've shared just the flatbread and been fulfilled and happy. Server was really nice and attentive. Had a good ambiance with solid top 40 playing in the background, but not loud enough to impede on conversation. read more

Very good bottomless brunch option. Offers beer, cider, mimosas, and bloody Marys for $25 per person before food. I got the Irish breakfast special off the brunch menu, came with a side of toast. Would definitely get it again, was very filling and the blood sausage was my favorite. Also tried some of the chicken sandwich. My only gripe was it was dark meat of which I am not a fan. Came with fries and dipping sauce. Will be coming back to try something new the next time around. Was very busy so drink refills were a bit slow but I don't hold it against the waitstaff. read more

Definitely a hopping happy hour scene. We arrived at 6 PM for a reservation and a lot of that crowd hadn't cleared any tables. Thankfully, there were seats at the bar while we waited. The food was well worth it. The lamb meatballs were flavorful and moist and the pita was extremely pillowy. Both of us had the steak frites and the steak was flavorful and not too fatty. The beer list is excellent, with something for every taste (and some good specials until 7 PM to boot). Table service was fast and friendly. The only two quibbles were the slow bar service (it took five minutes for the bartender to recognize us and another five minutes to close a tab when our table was ready - the bartender jumped to serving other customers and servers before going to the register) and a credit card surcharge that was only advertised on a small sign by the door that could easily be missed (but was absent from menus and the bar). Think that might be a little deceiving. read more

Randomly walked in to this place on a Sunday morning for brunch. It's an old fashioned bar. Cozy environment for catching up with an old friend. Pros: Complementary cocktails are great. Food is awesome, very unique flavors. Poached eggs are very special. Cons: Some of the plates are a little bit pricey. We ordered stuffed buns, tasted great btw but 8 dollars for 2 very small buns.. Friday marks the culmination of the week + overtime on a Friday; however, relief can be found at a gastropub empowered by Happy Hour and pub food. Boisterously loud music upon entering which is expected for a dark, dingy gastropub sports bar. Since this gastropub is boisterously loud couples will have a shouting match to uphold a conversation, ergo it is not ideal for couples but I do suggest after-work colleagues and/or groups of friends. There were two TV screens playing soccer which the single men sitting at the bar appeared very melancholy. I experienced no problem attaining a seat at the bar as a party of one. When inquiring if there were Happy Hour and what it entails I did not understand my server, Rudy C., who is also the bar tender stating "Cab Sav" as the bar abbreviation lingo for Cabernet Sauvignon. Cabernet Sauvignon $6 (Happy Hour price) Good body and subtle finish which enable me to achieve a phlegmatic moment. Don't know the country of origin nor the year, nor the alcohol content level percentage. Pigs in a Blanket $10 - cheddar bratwurst in puff pastry of sesame seed with sweet honey mustard This is not the traditional pork but still tasty embedded in pastry biscuit. The puff pastry is too large to fit in the dip bowl as one can only dip the legs. Warm Cheese Dip & Pretzel Bites $8 A large warm soft pretzel lightly salted enjoyable paired with the cheddar cheese dip. There is no shortage of bread here. Facilities are not maintained clean here specifically during peak Happy Hour business. The women's room is very country rustic with white/ivory wood panels which is charming. There is a sign hanging above the women's toilet: "Life was much easier when apple and blackberry were just fruits." Credit and debit cards are accepted and required to hold a tab tally. Minimal hooks are available under the bar counter for jacket and bags placement. Paper coasters are automatically distributed with my wine and I was offered water and refill for my water which is important to me to always have water on hand. No comment on their beer or draft selection. read more

came here for a quick bite and we were blown away!! we ordered 3 plates to share, the bbq chicken lollipops, roasted parmesan cauliflower (with pesto, pine nuts, and raisins) , and the sliders (with gruyere among other things). Typical American Spot for Brunch and Drinks Alfie's is a great spot for a weekend boozy brunch or a casual dinner and a drink. They have typical American offerings but also some more modern meals, like quinoa bakes. The price is fine, however the only thing stopping this from being a 5 star review is the menu offerings. I often find myself at a standstill because there is not too much on the menu. Thankfully, however it does rotate often. read more

My friend and I went together with a reservation. I was waiting in line to be seated. The server was ignoring me while serving other customers. I went to go approach her and she told me to wait in line after clearly seeing me in line :)) I thought I'd let this go, but then they sat us away from the heater on a rather chilly day. We were the only ones away from the heater. Not sure what was going on but I'm definitely never going back. This place is awesome. From the food, to the service, everything was way above my expectations. I passed by this pass a couple weeks ago and just decided to make a stop in. There's outside seating, and on a cool summer day, it's heaven. You're in the center of the hustle and bustle of the city but it still feels intimate. We ordered a couple beers (turns out happy hour is until 8pm! Huge win) and the cheese dip with pretzel bites. Then we got a couple more beers and the roasted corn and crab dip. Y'all.... I can't rave on this good enough. I'm adding a pic to this review of the pretzels and cheese and all I can say is I crave it every single time I think about it. The pretzels were soft, beautifully baked, and just salty enough. The cheese was wonderful (who doesn't love cheese tho). The corn crab dip, wow. The pita bread chips that came with it, wow. They were HOT they were so fresh and they also had just enough salt that when paired with the creamy dip it was just the right addition needed. To top it off, one of the managers (possibly owner?) checked on us a couple times throughout the night and was super friendly. He talked to us about how hard it is to do marketing for a restaurant these days with so much competition, and that it's more about what foods people are feeling whenever they happen to pass by (that hit home, because that's exactly what we did). At the end of our chat he bought us shots (also found out this is definitely a whiskey bar), and he really just made our night even more memorable. I cannot wait to come back here! read more

Went for brunch on a rainy Sunday afternoon. The food was spot on and the dessert was amazing! I had the avocado toast with poached eggs. This was served with a nice salad and some tasty fried potatoes. The eggs were perfectly poached! The portion size was okay - it didn't fill me up but that was good news because of the dessert we had. We got the filled donuts (jam and Nutella). These were warm, crisp on the outside and delicious as a full bite. The donuts were garnished with some what looked like fenugreek leaves and the composed bite was just yum. Great brunch! Very slow service and rude manager made for a very unpleasant, rushed meal. Ordered a flatbread pizza at 7PM, asked waitress at 7:30 to check and told it was cooking. 7:40 pizza arrives and I told owner I waited almost 15 minutes to order so 1 hour later I get my flatbread pizza. He SNAPS BACK " IT IS SATURDAY NIGHT SO YOU SHOULD EXPECT DELAYS" and grunted as he walked away. Issue is restaurants are operating with bare bones staff perhaps to save money but the customer suffers. Put pizza in a box and left unhappy and insulted. read more

Cute little restaurant in Hell's Kitchen. I've only gone here for brunch but always have a nice time. I love the outdoor seating they have out front (perfect for people watching!) and the highboy tables along the windows in the restaurant. I most recently went this weekend and they used to offer an entree + brunch drink special but got rid of it which I was disappointed about. They do not offer any bottomless or other brunch drink specials which is surprising because nearly every other competitor in the area does. That being said, they make a great bloody mary for $6 during brunch and I love the avocado toast. The brunch dishes come with 'tater tots' but they're actually like fried potato balls that are soooooo good & huge snaps for having sriracha available! I will have to come here for happy hour one day but overall, a good spot to have a very chill and casual meal. read more

We decided on: Craft Brandt Beef Sliders - disappointing. The burgers were overcooked and the buns were stale. Pass on them if you go. Pork Bao Buns - the winner of the apps. Pork belly with sriracha aioli and brussel sprout kimchi. Soft, fresh and delicious. Miso Creamed Spinach Parm Dip - Meh. Came out room temp. Not enough tortilla chips (they weren't very fresh) and very watery. The bartenders were friendly and quick (not with the food though but not their fault). It was really warm inside (did they forget to turn on the AC)? Place was packed but not still had some elbow room. Younger type crowd. Pricey brews and food (didn't try any entrees). I came for brunch and had a great time! First of all, the bloody Mary was STRONG and delicious. Can't taste the alcohol at all. Just the right amount of spice with a chain of olives on top. 1. Caramel French toast: The French toast were more like thick pancakes that had a little bit of texture in them. The banana slices laid over were a great addition. Highly recommend this dish. 2. Bacon: Freshly done, they came out with the bacon fat still sizzling on them. 3. Avocado toast: Comes with two poached eggs and a salad on the toast. Side of potatoes. Everything tasted fresh. Nothing was over salted. 4. Pulled pork sandwich: Yummy! Hard to screw up a dish with pulled pork, sunny side up eggs, and salad. And they didn't, because this dish was delectable. 5. Steak and eggs: The steak was good, but maybe could have been slightly more rare. The plate comes with eggs, salad, and potatoes. I think it's a great brunch deal! Ambience is simple bar/gastropub.
