This place is phenomenal. Great service and superior food. I came for Sunday Brunch after the NYC Marathon (I didn't run). It was packed with spectators and locals, but they were able to get me in pretty quick. I was going to grab a drink and some food, but luckily I didn't have anywhere to be as I spotted the bottomless mimosas/bloodies for 90 minutes. Good thing because that's about how long it took me to figure out which of the delicious entrees I was going to have. I was in the mood for something cheesy so chose the Croque Madame. It was unbelievable and although my buddy recommended the Chicken and Waffles and my server recommended the Short Rib Hash, I don't think I could have chosen better. Great food. A visit here for dinner started out disappointing when I was told the HOT SPINACH AND ARTICHOKE DIP was sold out. Ugh, there really wasn't a second choice for the appetizers at the moment, so it was time to regroup on this fact. The table ended up getting the FAVA BEAN HUMMUS - Crudités, Grilled Pita, Za'atar and in the end I think we were almost glad the first choice was not available. It was a fresh take on something familiar and very tasty indeed! For the main course I had ALFIE'S GRASS FED BEEF BURGER - Fried Shallots, Gruyère, Portobello Mushrooms, Brioche Bun. I had the sweet potato fries with, and I was very happy with the choice. It was one of the better burgers to be had for sure, and I probably could have gone medium rare on it, which is something I would never think about asking for normally. Someone else at the table had the CHAR-GRILLED STEAK FRITES - 12 oz. NY Strip Steak, Hand-cut Fries, Green Beans, Chimichurri which looked amazing, and they were very happy with that as well. Then there is the fact that this place seems to have a full name of "Alfie's Kitchen & Craft Beer Bar" at least according to Resy. In addition to beer they have a very extensive drink menu, but my focus will also be on the beer. For me there were several new ones to be had here and what is nice is everything is on a board that is easily visible. read more

I came here last month and was pretty disappointed. The food looks great, but I traveled across midtown because the meal that is currently their business display picture looked great, but was unfortunately not on their menu. The drinks were a little underwhelming. 1 didn't seem to have a good ratio of sweet/acidic and the other was tasty, but you could barely feel anything by the end of it. The lox bagel was typical and they gave a decent amount of lox on the bagel I've never had egg with lox bagel but definitely does taste well together (4/5) - Grilled chicken ciabatta ($23): The fries were both crispy and soft. The sandwich was flavorful and I loved the ssamjang aioli they included in the sandwich. This was a cute little spot that had great reviews and not too far from where we stayed. The bartender was such a sweetheart and very personable! I went during happy hour and had two glasses of wine and this delicious burger that was cooked to absolute perfection. It was stacked tall and there was no way I could conquer this in all one sitting! The bacon was perfectly crisp and all the veggies were light and fresh! My parents-in-law and my brother-in-law came here after seeing Funny Girl (which was really good btw but they've since replaced Beanie). The atmosphere is definitely very sports bar-like: very loud music, lots of conversations. The only bad thing was the music was super loud and we couldn't hear each other's conversation. We asked the waiter if it was possible to have the volume turned down but the waiter said, "No unfortunately because it gets really loud in here later, we keep the music at this volume." But we were able to move tables away from the speakers so that was a big help. The food was pretty good. I honestly don't remember what we all got and I didn't take any pictures even though I thought I did. But it is a nice area to just chill, relax, and have a drink with your friends. PS: Nevermind. Usually I ask the bartender or waiter/waitress for recommendations because they know the menu! Unfortunately the bartender did not know anything... for me that is a big disappointment. Now the good part is they have frozen aperol spritz! How cool! Anyone who loves an aperol knows it's refreshing and a perfect spring/summer drink. It wasn't better than your average aperol spritz since it did taste different frozen but highly recommend if you like yours sweeter! Location is nice, and plenty of outdoor dining space. Chairs aren't crammed next to one another as they are in some places. There's also a great view of the sunset during happy hour. Got a few apps to share and everything came promptly. The flatbreads were my favourite and they had a variety of flavors, which was great. They have a good grasp on their fundamentals. Came here fir brunch to celebrate my father and husband getting their 2nd covid vaccine. First off, the decor inside is super cute! The tables were spread out and their outdoor set up was actually very nice, if it hadn't been for the pouring rain we may have sat outside, despite the rain there were people sitting outdoors and they looked comfy and dry! My father and I had the jerk chicken and waffle and my husband and mother had the lamb ragout, my sister had the steak and eggs. We also had a few cocktails (pictures attached). The food was phenomenal. The waffle was a cornbread waffle and it was a very satisfying and filling. It had a bite and soaked up the flavors of the chicken without getting soggy. I really enjoyed it. The steak and eggs were good too, steak was seasoned well and cooked right. The steak came with a side of potatoes and this delicious orange sauce whose name I can't recall. The lamb ragout was so so so good! It was such a different dish, it had so many different textures and flavors going on. The polenta was creamy, the potato sticks added a nice crunch, and the lamb was tender, and who doesn't love a runny yolk on top of all that goodness? This restaurant was a random find, but it was for sure a good one and I'm so glad we came here! read more

It's been a busy couple of weeks and needed a place to come catch up with friends, as Alfie's was definitely it! The menu was so good it took us a awhile to determine what to eat, that's rare but we were definitely happy with every item. We all got different plates so that we could share and we loved each meal. If you're in Midtown in the late afternoon/evening you have to try Alfie's. It's my top 5 burger in NYC, I'd say the #2 spot after 5 Napkin (which is just 8 blocks down 9th Ave). But this spot is also great for cocktails and happy hour too. It's a nice neighborhood restaurant/bar and there's really nice outdoor seating. Staff are always friendly and they always cook the Alfie's grassfed burger just right. They also put Gruyere cheese, shallots and portobello mushrooms on these burgers, which give them a unique taste with a little bit of crunch. Even though 5 Napkin is my favorite burger spot in the area, I would honestly go to Alfie's over 5 Napkin only because Alfie's has more of a neighborhood/dive bar feel, whereas 5 Napkin is good but has a more chain restaurant vibe. read more

I have gone to Alfie's twice now after frequenting their sister restaurant, Jasper's. Same consistent food quality and service! While they don't have apple cider and mango mimosas, they do have beer on their bottomless brunch which is a big win! We were planning to go to a different restaurant but could not get a table, and happily ended up at Alfie's. The interior is nicely decorated and cozy, and we were seated quickly. The dinner and happy hour menu was pretty large, and we opted to share everything. We ordered the spinach artichoke dip, truffle mac, crispy cauliflower, soppressata flatbread, and primi primavera flatbread. Definitely very limited vegan options, which was unfortunate for our vegan friend. My favorites were the truffle mac and general tso's crispy cauliflower. The truffle flavor of the mac is strong and super cheesy, and the cauliflower breading is flavorful and perfect. The spinach artichoke dip is definitely artichokey, which I love. The flatbreads were good too, but nothing crazy special. Service was quick and friendly. Recommend! Will definitely be back! read more
