I heard their vanilla latte is what puts them on the map. We got an iced vanilla latte to try and it was decent. Not bad but I'd probably try something else on their menu next time to explore their other options. It tasted exactly as one would expect from an iced vanilla latte (maybe a little less sweet). Service was very fast. We went earlier in the day when there weren't too many customers so seating was plentiful. It's right along a busy street so I imagine this place can get crowded. I recently visited this coffee shop and overheard what appeared to be a manager (guy looked late 20s) making a inappropriate comment about one of the young female employees' body. The employee laughed it off, but she seemed visibly uncomfortable. It felt very inappropriate and unprofessional, especially in front of both staff and customers. It created an awkward atmosphere, and it makes me wonder whether this kind of behavior is common in this workplace. Been once to a different location and while at AK thought I'd try again since I'm in the area - I don't think we have one in the Bay. Finally tried the famous Alfred Coffee! One of my fav YouTubers Lindsay Rae said this is her fav matcha place so this has been on my list to try. Totally worth!!! after going back and forth I finally decided to try Alfred Coffee. I specifically went to a location with good reviews because unfortunately many locations seem subpar based on reviews. I ordered on the app and got a matcha pumpkin spice latte with 2% milk. the drink came out in about 5 minutes which is pretty good, and the barista who gave me the drink was nice. the drink was also really good and the pumpkin purée at the bottom was made from REAL pumpkin!! inside, the place is pretty cute and has a decent amount of seating. it's colorful and inviting and I would definitely go back. read more

Did not enjoy this experience and probably won't be back. First, the young lady at the counter was not very engaging and I felt like I was interrupting her phone scrolling. We ordered a world famous vanilla latte and it was delicious. We also ordered a vegan burrito. It was ice cold in the middle and when I asked for it to be warmed a little more, I got a feeling of annoyance from the young lady again and then, upon returning the burrito, it was so hot inside that we couldn't eat it and literally had to wait 10 minutes for it to cool down. I wanted to taste a 2 star but the food and drink did taste good and the barista was friendly when I picked up my latte. A note for the business, it would be nice if you called out a name when a drink is ready, rather than the order, as many people order similar drinks and you don't really know if it is your drink that is ready or someone else's. I have mixed feelings about this Alfred Abbott Kinney location... the coffee is always great (and the other locations are wonderful), but the staff here just didn't seem very happy. I actually asked for a refund before they overcharged me, and I still haven't gotten my money back. The coffee did live up to its hype! I have been wanting to try Alfred coffee for months, and I stopped by the Venice location this morning. The iced oat milk lavender latte did not disappoint! It was just the right amount of sweetness (2 pumps of lavender syrup) without sacrificing solid coffee flavor. I can see myself visiting this and other Alfred locations in the future since the coffee was good. Service was fine. The inside has a few tables and there is seating outside as well. Parking could be tricky since this location is right off Abbot Kinney. I was lucky this morning and found street parking. Glad to see this LA chain doing well. read more

Extra syrup is also free too :) I love that the coffee here is super customizable (it's so easy on the app) down to the number of espresso shots, decaf options, milk options, and more. Read the reviews and was excited to check it out for breakfast. Off the bat, I was surprised how small they're $5.25 Flat White is. It had a balanced taste, expressed some caramel flavor, all around good coffee. The other, less pleasant surprise was the $13 veggie breakfast burrito. I order the same thing every time I visit Alfred and that's the Lavender latte because I have never gone wrong with a lavender latte and I know for certain Alfred will never let me go wrong as long as coffee is involved. The employees at this location are fine. I love the ambiance and all of the "But First, Coffee" messages around the store. Someday I will get the coffee cup that says "But First, Coffee" on it. I have to limit myself on even entering Alfred Coffee because I would be there multiple times a week and my wallet can't handle how good it is. For non coffee lovers, I thought their signature vanilla latte with macadamia milk was just ok. But don't trust my opinion if you are an avid coffee drinker. Tasted watery to me but my friend who ordered said it was good. My friends also tried the matcha with vanilla and Americano with foam on top and it was better than madhappy's. I wouldn't usually order matcha with sweetener but this one is ok. Definitely not my favorite. I met a friend here for morning drinks and breakfast. While the chai latte was pretty standard to what I get at any other morning cafe (I'd give it a 3/5), the breakfast burrito was SO delicious. Tater tots in a burrito??? Sign me up!!! I will admit I was a little skeptical at first of the burrito contents, I'm not usually one to combine too many flavors and textures into one but the ingredients (avocado, fried egg, bacon, melty cheese and tots) all mixed so well together. I made the mistake of only eating half of my burrito and sharing the other half with my partner and then I later wished that I had my entire own burrito because it was that good.
