I have ordered, mostly pizza, from here many times. My go to is large round pizza with onions, sweet peppers and sausage. Base pizza price was $15.95, obviously a bit more for toppings. When I picked up the pizza, it was $30.95!!! They charged $5 for each topping thereby doubling the price !!! I did some research of other pizzerias and none of them even approach this cost!! Please don't waste your time here. My husband and I stopped by to eat lunch because of its reference in The Office, but we were utterly disappointed. We had to hunt down a server to seat us and after waiting for an hour after we put in our order, our server notified us that the kitchen printer "was broken" and they never got our order. My husband and I came to Scranton to check out the Office things so we rushed to get to Alfredo's before they closed. We got there 15 minutes before closing (when they were still serving fresh drinks to people who were already seated). A server came out and greeted us with "We're closing." We asked if it was possible to get a pizza to go rather than dine in and she just said "No, we're closed." No apology or anything. I know it's annoying to have people come in close to closing but you don't get to say you close at 9 and then refuse to take a to-go order at 8:45. No idea if the food is good. read more

I was spotted taking a photo outside the building by an apparent employee who expressed confusion that "people are still watching that show?" (The Office.) Yes. Everyone who has Netflix is watching The Office, and all of us want to try Alfredo's Pizza Cafe. You can get regular pizza or a thick-crust square pizza (ordered by the tray) with a variety of toppings. I opted for a half-tray of pizza with broccoli. The food is pretty good. It's a little on the pricey side, but the staff is by far the rudest I have ever encountered. They behave like its an inconvenience to be waiting on you, unless you're known to spend alot and leave a huge tip. This was a great stop on our The Office Scranton PA tour. Our waitress (I believe her name was Veronica) was awesome!!! Ask for her if you stop in. I had a half square pizza and my husband had the Philly Cheese Steak!! Ok first off I never had a square pizza EVER! I'm a Cajun from Louisiana so this was a first. Having just finished The Office for the first time (yes, we're a bit behind!) my husband and I decided to stop through Scranton on the way home from a trip to Ithaca, and we obviously needed to try the famous Alfredo's Pizza Cafe. Being from New York, we take pizza kinda seriously, and weren't exactly expecting it to be a life-changing meal. However, we absolutely loved this restaurant, and my husband gave the pizza two thumbs up. The inside has a moody, romantic vibe, perfect for friends, families, or a date, and it was very crowded even for a late weekday lunch. I didn't eat pizza (*gasp* I know) but the entree I did have was the pretzel chicken, and it was incredible. I will dream about it forever, to be honest. Service was extremely slow, which seems to be a common theme throughout reviews, however our server was very friendly, so I wasn't too mad. All in all, a solid place to stop for food whether you've seen the show or not, and clearly superior to Pizza by Alfredo. read more

In the area for a wedding and decided to drive the 45 minutes to check out Alfredo's Pizza Cafe being an Office fan. Being from NYC, I'm a pizza snob. Very hard to find good pizza outside of NY (Boston and Chicago comes close). But in the middle of Pennsylvania...... It's all about the water, the sauce and what cheese the place uses. We ordered the half tray of Alfredo's Thick Pan Pizza. Took about a half hour to come out. It was really good. The sauce was excellent and the crust was nice and soft and airy. The only reason this gets 1 star is because the long island iced tea was huge and cheap. We ordered the traditional square pizza and got the large to take some home for dinner. After the first slice, we realized the pizza had American cheese instead of traditional mozzerella and the pizza became inedible. We ended up leaving almost a full pizza uneaten. This was a very good choice for me and my family! Being fans of The Office we thought we would try this place out and most of us enjoyed it. I was going to get pizza but decided to stick with plain penne pasta. It was very good! Just the right amount of seasoning. My father loved his meal and so did my mom, but my sister didn't like her meal. She got chicken francaise and complained about it having too much garlic. That was probably why this review only has four stars out of five. Other than food, the service is great! Our waiter was very nice. We didn't wait too long for our meal either. Totally recommend getting the chicken Parmesan and the fettuccini Alfredo and combining them!!! It's delicious. Changes everything. I also am a big fan of their pesto gnocchi. They also give you a nice salad along with the huge portion. Great value. The inside is a mix of casual pizza takeout with a fancier sit-down area, but it has TVs in there. That is a major component of why I cannot give it 5 stars. The TVs can be distracting and take away from the family or romantic date time. Also the staff could be better- there's a woman who helps with the takeout at the front who doesn't have a pleasant attitude, especially when it gets busy. I came with 2 friends on a Friday afternoon. There were tons of open tables, and 2 parties in front of us, but somehow it took 15 minutes for us to get seated. Once seated, the waitress came by to tell us that it's going to take a minute. We waited 15 more minutes and she never came by. We told ourselves we would wait 5 more minutes and if nobody came around we would leave. Nobody ever even came around to take our drink order. Completely disappointed with the lack of professionalism at Alfredo's, YET AGAIN... PRIOR to COVID (01/19/2019, to be exact), we went to dine in and were seated immediately. The waitress came to take our drink order and asked if we were ready to order. At that time, we told her we would be ready within 2 minutes; so by the time she returned with our waters.. 45 minutes passed and she didnt stop gossiping or put her phone down so we walked out. Now, I just called to ask how long the delivery wait is and to order a simple plain pizza. They answer the phone and immediately yell "hold" and place you on a hold recording. Over 10 minutes pass and the person finally returns with the same attitude problem. They rudely state "what do you want". I begin by saying "hi how long is the wait for delivery".. she then immediately HANGS UP ON ME!!!! I call back and the same person answers. I explain how after waiting 10 minutes on hold and being patient with her attitude it was rude of her to hang up and again asked how long is the wait for delivery. The response I received was "ya.. ok so idk like an hour and a half or so".. I just hung up. I don't have time for a business who allows their employees be complete assholes. It was our first visit. We are from Ohio and took a trip to visit the Office's favorite pizza place in July. The prices are fabulous. Our pizza was square with a ton of cheese. The sauce is sweet and my daughter loved it and the cheesiest factor. The service was quick, got takeout because of COVID, maybe we will eat in next trip, it's a 5 hour ride, but my daughter loved it. This restaurant is located in a strip mall in downtown Scranton. Al fresco dining appears right in front, but we opted not to eat outside due to many of the diners were smoking. Inside there is an all-Service bar, and two large dining rooms. We were seated in the smaller room ...there was a party of 40 there for a birthday. NP. The place was almost filled. I hear from the locals that this place is known for its pizza. Pizza usually comes in a rectangle shaped pie which for me is kind of unusual but I did happen to see one table with a round pizza. Pennsylvania seems to have a lot of pizza places that serve rectangular pizza and I don't mean Sicilian pie. We both opted to have the steamed clams at $8.95. They came with drawn butter and crackers. Very tasty. I ordered seltzer w/lime and Heather, our server, immediately re-filled my glass when I slugged the 1st one up in 2min. I also ordered Butternut Squash Ravioli w/walnuts. Very good. Though this restaurant was busy, the staff seemed listless and didn't seem in tune with each other.
