We sometimes had some black water come up in our second sink in the kitchen and weren't sure what the cause was. I liked that Brett was straight to the point in helping diagnose what the issues might be and helping guide us in the right direction on what may be needed. After figuring out a good time, Brett came in and was both chill and respectful. He had his tools ready to go and was able to test out our sink and adjacent appliances to see what was going on within an hour. I called Prodigy to replace a water shutoff valve for my refrigerator. Once they arrived, however, I was quoted a price that was roughly twice what I expected. The technician referenced a price/specification list, which makes me question why they couldn't have provided at least a general estimate over the phone, with the usual disclaimer that the final price could vary depending on the actual situation. I take responsibility for agreeing to the work instead of declining and getting another quote, but I was uncomfortable with the way the pricing was handled. It left me feeling that I wasn't given enough information to make an informed decision before the technician arrived. The actual job took less than two hours, and I felt the final price was extremely high for the work performed. I would not use Prodigy again for two reasons: Lack of pricing transparency and what I consider a poor business practice. Extremely expensive pricing compared with what I expected for this type of repair.

The 2 guys worked diligently to locate the issue, using moisture sensing devices, a wireless camera and using their phones to communicate to each other from the different locations of our house. They also made other adjustments to things they found needed to be tightened up during the process. Once located, they were done in no time, replacing the fixture that was faulty and for a very reasonable price. Very happy we used them for our issue!
