Came by for dinner the other night and it was a tasty experience. All Spice is featured in the Michelin guide. Made a reservation and our table was ready upon arrival. Parking is available in their private lot or on the nearby residential street. There were numerous high end vehicles in the lot. All Spice is located inside a very old house. The dining room is dated and the service throughout the evening was very attentive. Dinner is either 3, 4, or 5 courses where each diner can choose their own course. Started off with the housemade sourdough and it was decent. It was served with some spread. The amuse bouche was tasty. The goat cheese tart was a generous portion and quite filing. I loved all of the accoutrements with this course. The cod course was good with different flavors to contrast the cod. The venison was tasty, especially with the different accoutrements. I liked the dessert course too. It was a decomposed cake presented in a very nice manner. Service throughout the evening was attentive and the ambiance was quite helpful for an extended dinner.

Delicious as usual! This place never fails to impress me with the different combinations of food it supplies. I always enjoy my time here!

This review is long overdue! All Spice has become my go to place for all special occasions. The restaurant is a converted home which makes for a very intimate dining experience with a limited amount of tables available. The menu is prix fixe with the option of 3-5 courses and is updated regularly giving you the option to always try something new. On top of the stellar food, the service is next level. Silverware is switched out between every course and the waiter explains each dish as it's brought out. The parking spaces in the lot can be a bit cramped, but trust me this minor inconvenience is worth the food and service!

Went here again for our anniversary any entire l enjoyed the experience as much if not more! Very interesting concept that blends a bit of Indian and Middle eastern with western fare, with a lot of success. Beautiful creations, its clear that the chef almost treats this as art! Great selection of wines, though we brought our own. In addition to the menu, I also loved their amuse bouche and bread!

The service was great. The place was hard to find. It's nestled between two commercial buildings. Just a random cottage. There is some Parking. The whole set up is very quaint. This more fusion. The food is overall very good. Portion sizes are small but filling. You can have a three course or four course or five course meal. You'll pick from the appetizer and then entree and dessert. I had two entrees and could not finish the second. I got the new York steak and the gnocchi. I didn't get dessert so can't comment. Overall super cute place and decent food.

It was a great experience. All spice is a very intimate restaurant within a home. Parking was easy to find since they have their own private loft. Food was delicious, mainly American with Indian influences. Wine - very small selection, and not that great in my opinion. Both our wines were not great. I recommend brining your own bottle and paying the $15 corkage fee. Coffee - got the French pressed decaf, enjoyed it with dessert. Both my partner and I did 3 courses for $85 pp. we chose to do one dish from each category. Appetizers: Smoke black Cod - 4/5 it was more like a potato salad with cod in it. I just felt like it was too heavily dressed. There was a ton of texture though, so it felt light. Persimmon / asparagus salad (seasonal) - 5/5 loved the flavors for this one. Very good starter. Entree: (both of these entrees were an extra $8 supplemental charge) both 5/5 NY strip steak - cooked very well to a medium rare as I requested. The pepito sauce was great and the salad paired well with the dish Lamb loin - I don't even like lamb, but this was well cooked! It paired well with the charred broccolini and sauces. Dessert: impossible layer cake - 4/5. Loved the flavor profile but the texture for the cake itself was off. It tasted slimy.

We made reservations and service was great. The food was delicious. Our favorites were the seafood dishes and desserts are definitely worth trying. Highly recommend for a get together.

We've enjoyed All Spice at least 6 times over the past 6 years. Every time it impresses us with some of the most inspirational culinary creations we've ever experienced. And without the snobbish attitude. The food is artfully presented. The flavors are imaginative and layered complexity. Your taste buds will be in for a tantalizing explorative journey. The unassuming old house, the friendly unpretentious staff make this a great meal out to celebrate a special occasion or simply to embrace creative dining.

Celebrated my friend's birthday at All Spice. It was both of our first times at the restaurant, and we agreed that we had an overall great experience. All Spice was a cute house in the middle of a residential area that was converted into a restaurant. The place had ample parking on the neighboring streets where I parked, but I did note that it had its own surrounding parking lot when I walked closer to it. The interior was nicely decorated. It felt homey and welcoming. While the experience was certainly more of fine dining, we got the smart casual type of vibe. I made reservations for 5:30pm on a Wednesday. We were the only guests for some time and then a second party came later. We were localized in one main room, but there were multiple rooms in the house to seat more guests. Service was excellent. Food came out in a timely manner, and our server was on it! He was highly attentive and very nice. You can choose a 3-, 4-, or 5- course meal, and you don't have to match the others in your party. We both decided to get the 4-course meal as there were many things off the menu we wanted to try. I got 2 apps, 1 entree, and a dessert for my 4 courses. The food was beautifully presented, and they were flavorful. Complimentary cauliflower soup - This was a cold soup that came out in a small shot glass size of a serving. Great way to whet our appetites. Had some type of distinct spice flavor that I liked, such as cumin. House sourdough bread - Soft crumb with sliced olives. There was also house made butter. Black cod appetizer - This was a cold dish. Liked this one a lot because of the smokiness of the cod. Scallops appetizer - My favorite dish of the night. I ordered 2 scallops (2nd scallop cost extra). The scallops were large, plump, and juicy, which sat on these crispy crusts. Different flavors of sauces on the dish but overall I thought this also had an Indian inspired flavor. New York Strip Steak entree - I tried my friend's venison dish, but I liked mine way better. The steak was tender. Custard cake - Loved the caramel sauce, and the poached pear was the star of this dish moreso than the cake.

Food: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Overall: A great choice for prefixe. The extended review... Food: 4/5 - The menu set up is great with a bunch of different options depending on how hungry one is. I love that you can choose 2 entrees and 2 desserts if you so desire. Service: 4/5 - Friendly and attentive service. Ambiance: 5/5 - The setting is very nice. It's a well set up restaurant that isn't so claustrophobic and it's definitely quieter so that you can have good conversation over a very well crafted meal.

This place came highly recommended and it did not disappoint! They earned a Michelin Star for a reason. The menu is creative and crafty as you pick any 3 - 5 items regardless of order. Meaning, you could just do 3 deserts! I highly recommend this place and will go back.

Who knew there was a chic, little restaurant hidden away off of El Camino and 92? Certainly not me. Looking for a unique and delicious night out for a celebration, stumbled upon All Spice. It lived up to the unique and was a perfect place for a fancy celebration. The menu is a mix and match for a pre-set price. Yes, it's not cheap but the courses offered are luxurious, well presented and quite delicious. You probably don't want to come here every night, but it's perfect for that one special event. I'd love to say that I remember the details of everything we ate, but that didn't happen simply because we were enjoying the experience instead of taking Yelp notes. Honestly, everything in the photos was a good as it looks. The wine list was decent. Unusually, there were a few wines and cider that were made by the owners. Being new to winemaking, don't expect the wines to be outstanding. But given some time and experience, they could have a hand in the game. Parking is a private lot or plenty of street parking, but finding it can be a challenge. It's easier to drive around looking for the entrance on the back streets than El Camino. The building is an old, Victorian home, so dress accordingly. If it's hot outside, it'll be hotter inside. If it's cold outside, it'll be colder inside. They don't have a bar, but they do have a strange patio area that was locked up, so don't count on outdoor seating. Have fun, eat and drink, celebrate your special occasion!

There is a homestyle restaurant with a perfectly home vibe you feel like you're sitting in a house on a dinner table with your family. We were able to customize the menu and menu for our team because it was a team event that I arranged and they were able to work with us to make it, the food is a fusion of Asian cuisine and I can tell you that they have done a great job in putting together the right kind of stuff in there. The staff was really friendly and made sure that we were taken care of and helped us pick the best things, they were often checking on us to make sure we are comfortable. There's plenty of parking inside so don't worry about that and this is a great place for a family tour with friends, etc.. Have fun.

My friend ordered the Veggie Scramble and an iced Euro Latte. We both requested less sweet for our drinks. This turned out good for the Euro Latte but I had to go back and ask them to increase the sweetness for the Yema Latte. The drinks were good, nothing too mind-blowing. The Foreigner Favorite was yummy. I really liked the sausages and poached eggs. I love potatoes, and I wish these were a little bit crispier. Regardless, it was an enjoyable dish overall. Cute and quaint cafe in San Mateo with unique offerings. The thai tea french toast immediately caught my eye because I love thai tea and anything thai flavored in general. While it is presented beautifully, the flavor itself fell flat for me. Thai tea is known to have bold flavor and a strong tea taste. This was really lacking that. My partner got the chicken croffle and he loved it. I tried it and it is definitely something I'd order too! Chicken was nice and crispy and the croffles weren't dry or soggy, but the perfect in between. We liked that it came with both a savory sauce and syrup. The items can sell out nightly. While that part is annoying, it means they aren't over buying and the ingredients are fresher. They are buying based on expected sales, not bulk. When we went the pork chop, half chicken and Zabaglione were sold out. We had the chicory salad, kentucky fried mushrooms, Radiatore pasta, burgers, and one person got the steak frites. Everything we tried was great. I'd order any one of those again. The pasta had a kick to it which I liked, but if you don't like a little spice, maybe avoid it. We ended with the lemoncello tiramisu. The inside has no noise absorption so any loud group (as would be expected at a tavern) leads to extremely unpleasant loud environment for dinner. Though the food was slow to come out because it was coursed, the service was very polished and high attention to detail (asking if we wanted larger share plates between appetizers vs entrees, pacing the courses). The waiter was clearly very experienced and service quality felt more like fine dining rather than a tavern so it was just a strange environment where it was super loud like a dive bar but nicely decorated with excellent service like a fine bistro. There is mid size outside patio with space heaters and is dog friendly. It is part of the parking lot so not the most pretty but nice to have an outside option. The food was pretty good and beautifully presented. The menu reflects the same dichotomy where there's "bar food" like fish and chips but it is also unexpectedly elevated. My favorite item was the ceviche. Note closing time is quite early for a tavern - it closes at 9pm and last call for food is 830p. Bottom line - food and service were excellent but I can't see myself returning because of the extremely unpleasant noise. It's likely a good place for large groups cause it's so loud.
