Upon arrival I should have known what this burger joint had in store.. The faded, paint chipped sign with 4 yellowed stars was my first clue that this was going to be an EXPERIENCE. Tables were stickier than a roll of gorrilla glue duct tape and there were only about 4 other people in the entire restaurant. Food was sub-par, and took about 1.5 hours for the full restaurant experience, but that isn't where the torment started. Before leaving, I made a pit stop by the bathroom where I saw a picture of Chucky on the restroom door. This was strategically placed - as the bathroom, is where the horror truly begins... if you're lucky. We leave and start on our 3 hour journey home, and only make it about an hour down the road when I hear a family member starts making her final battle cry. Begging for a place to stop, but no where to land. We're in the middle of no where, stranded, begging for mercy. We start frantically looking for a bathroom, and all of a sudden she recommends a palm bush. This is when I realized that it was ABOUT TO GO DOWN. We stop, do our best to guide her to a private place, but we only make it 10 ft off the pavement. She immediately is forced to strip down, get on her knees, and beg for mercy. The experience that she had was traumatic. It must have been food poisoning as she explodes on the side of the road. A small group of ducks on the side of the road begin to flee for their life, not knowing what they've just seen. It's over now, and we've started family counseling. But this was not the experience we prepared for. The food assaulted her bowels, and she will never be the same. read more

The food wasn't bad but just ok. My burger had the shape of one of those frozen Pre shaped ones. The meat didn't feel like all beef and had seasoning salt on top. The bun and topping were all fresh. The ambiance always feels like the dark chilled out spot when you can come and let lose for a bit. Worst dining experience ever. To keep it simple: - Our waitress was amazing. Probably the only good thing abt this place. - We ordered the "wing special" (¢69 wings) NOWHERE does it say this is all you can eat, buffet, or you can't take home. So, we ordered enough to have lunch tomorrow too. (Later to find out you can't take the wing special to go) - The menu says wings are served with blue cheese and ranch, but it doesn't specify that you're paying for this. ($3 in ranch for 3 small cups is absolutely absurd.) *no order comes with ranch- you will pay ¢89 PER SIDE OF RANCH** - We were told AFTER ordering and dining that wings cannot be taken home. Whatever you don't eat you have to leave. So basically, this is a buffet where you charge per wing and cannot bring it home?!? Ridiculous. If you're going to make stupid rules about dine-in, at least specify on the menu. - Food was so dry and didn't even taste good. It was $60 wasted on a meal. Went here with a few friends to watch the game. Walked in seemed like a great atmosphere with some pool tables and darts! We asked out waitress if we get the game on a tv that no one was watching and she said she will ask. the owner/manager (not sure) came out and told her no right in front of us for no reason (very strange). Anyways our server was really nice but super inattentive you had to order things 2-3 times for her to remember. The wait for food was rough they said they were cooking everything raw and thats why it was taking 45-60 minutes but most of the food we ordered was frozen stuff that you put in the frier for ten minutes Overall the food when it came out was decent generic bar food. Stopped in early on a Saturday afternoon. Happy to find a neat, fresh smelling, clean sports bar/restaurant atmosphere. There are video games, pool tables, booths and a large horseshoe bar. Plenty of room. Lots of TVs. There were grandparents having lunch with kids, a group of fishermen just off the water having lunch and a cold beer. A few regulars having lunch at the bar. Tons of takeout orders being picked up. Always a good sign. We ordered the Texas Longhorn burger. Quite good. Seemed to me to be a hand made burger patty. Very tasty. The bun was soft and the same size has the half pound burger. Standard fries. Service was timely and very friendly. Beer was cold. Restrooms could use some updating. Matter of fact, that's the only reason it's not 5 stars. The place could use a little face lift. We were looking for a sports bar type spot to watch a game, have a beer and grab some wings. Juan was very rude to my son! He and his buddies stopped in to have a beer after a hard day at work. Juan requested his ID which my son gladly provided as he's 22. He was asked to show another form of ID so my son gave him his debit card with his name on it. Juan responded that his DL was a fake or it would be sideways. which is BS. So my son after being frustrated and interrogated said now can I ask you a question how much is my bill? And Juan said I'll do the asking of questions and was a cocky jerk. He told my son he was the owner and that if he didn't want him there he wouldn't be there. I am very disappointed with this establishment and the conduct of the owner. Good place to eat or drink. Not into the karaoke cause they all suc. So only go to grab a bite and drink, enjoy family.

Twice was served unsatisfactory French fries. Either the training is insufficient or the equipment is . My fish was crispy and hot and mushy on the inside. Coleslaw was great. Beer cold and server green but friendly. read more

Terrible service! Was there for two and a half hours and never got my meal. Ordered the bogo fajitas that was on special. Had to buy two drinks in order to get the special. So I had two margaritas which didn't have any tequila. All others at the table received their meal after waiting an hour and a half. Because it took so long to get meals for the rest of the table we had to sit and listen to really bad karaoke. When the bill came I mentioned to our service that she should come one of my drinks. If I could give a zero star, I would. There is a VERY limited amount of places in Lake Wales. At one point we use to come here a lot during lunch hours but it went down hill fast. About 4-5 months ago we all nixed the place for the poor service and poor food but the other day we decided let's give it a shot again. We thought, maybe all of the servers and cooks are gone, which they were but they were replaced with just as crappy ones as before. It took over 20 minutes for someone to even acknowledge we even came in the door. And then it took another 20 minutes for the food to come to the table. The food was burnt (even the bun- how can one do that). The server brought out "clean" side plates just in case but in the middle of those was dirty old crusted food. Which made us wonder what else was dirty around there. Everyone in there had to flag down the server and some had to even get up to get her. Came here to be able to watch the Patriots at Jaguars game while on vacation. The first thing I noticed was the pitiful beer selection at the bar. The on tap selection consisted of only Coors Light, Miller Light, Bud Light and Natural Ice. Seriously? Four bottom of the barrel, crappy beers and not even one average mediocre beer. Without a doubt the worst selection I have ever seen at any bar. The menu is very limited and comprised of the bar food basics. We started with two orders of Buffalo wings, mild & medium. First problem, the wings are battered before frying and I assume also frozen. Second you don't get an even distribution of tips and drums. Of the 20 wings in our two orders only three were drums. Besides the batter, the wings themselves were of decent quality and cooked properly so the meat was still juicy. Note that their mild sauce is actually sweet and the medium is the equivalent of most places mild so order higher. Next we had the Chicken Fingers which are frozen items that reminded me of McDonald's premium selects. We also had the Smothered Fries which were frozen fries covered with cheddar cheese and Bacon. There was a decent amount of bacon but could have used more cheese in my opinion. The bartender was helpful and attentive and offered good service. If you are simply looking for a place to watch the game this place will do. However the place is simply mediocre at best. read more

It was nearly 9 p.m. on a Saturday and every other restaurant in Lake Wales was closing. We went to a nearby steakhouse who said "All Star" was still open. Upon entry we were greeted by blaring country music and no hello. We were hungry travelers and sat down and ordered a beer. The beer is inexpensive, but then again, it's a strip mall pub in Lake Wales. I ordered fried oysters and my husband a burger. The food was as expected: pub grub. Not bad. Actually, the cole slaw was tasty. While there, the country gave way to hip hop. Basically, whoever put money into the jukebox named the tune. And no one in the pub seemed to have good musical taste. But that's OK, the beer was cold and we were hungry. Here's where things went downhill fast: After we finished our meals and were about to pay the bill, a German cockroach scurried along the back of the booth -- right behind my husband's back. I motioned to him, and he got up, slightly freaked out. I calmly and quietly summoned the waitress so as not to call a scene, while handing her my credit card. She got her manager. She and the manager both stood there, cocking their heads at the scurrying roach, and the manager smirked and apologetically told us we were welcome to sit in another booth. We declined, said we needed to get back to Orlando, and that we would just leave. I added that the reason I had pointed it out was because I thought it was something they needed to be aware of for when other customers came in. The waitress returned with my card and, just when I thought she was going to tell me the bill was comped, said, "I'm sorry but we don't take American Express." Most places would probably apologize profusely and insist on comping the bill after sharing our disgust about the cockroach running along their booths. Oh well. I gave her my Visa and paid the full bill, gave her a 20% tip. It's not her fault the place needs to be fumigated. But I will never return. And I'm sharing my story on Yelp. Recommendation to the pub: Hire an exterminator. If there is a cockroach crawling along the back of a booth while the lights are on, imagine what's crawling behind the walls or in the kitchen. Fumigate the place. And make sure the floors are spotless. Food on the floor (there was some under our booth) attracts cockroaches. So - if you're stuck in Lake Walea and nothing else is open, bring a can of Raid and some hand sanitizer and enjoy the cold beer. Maybe they'll fumigate before you get there. read more

Stopped here with my father for lunch. We sat at the bar and was waited on right away and the bartender was very friendly. I ordered a burger and fries and my father ordered the fish and chips. The bartender had no idea what type of fish it was, so she went to ask the cook. She came back and said it was " Basa". We honestly had never heard of Basa. He decided to give it a shot. The food came and my burger was loaded with mayonnaise. I never requested Mayo and it didn't say on the menu that it came with mayo. I complained that I didn't ask for mayo and requested that they bring me another top to the burger. When I asked the manager why mayo was put on it, when I didn't ask for it she said, "everyone down south loves mayo". Well, even if they do, I dont, and since I'm paying for the burger I should decide what goes on it, not the cook. My father's "Basa" was horrible and had no taste to it at all. Excellent food! Typical sports bar atmosphere but way better food than I ever expected. The gator bites were juicy and the blackened fish fajitas were done just right. My man got the all star burger which is a mountain of food packed onto a burger and he was pretty happy with it as well. Would definitely recommend to try this spot. Bad service and Bad management. It took us over an hour to get two burgers and one nacho. There were no other diners in the place the whole we were there. I asked to speak to a manager and I asked him why it was taking so long for our food and he just said he was sorry but they were going through shift change. For an hour REALLY?? When we finally got our food it was cold! My sister ordered her burger with grilled onions and there was a very small piece of a raw onion on it. The nachos were horrible. This place used to be a mess. But now with new owners , I'm not afraid to sit down. They've cleaned it up completely and have replaced the tattered and torn seats with new chairs and coverings. The room has been completely repainted and the old tube TV's, replaced with new flat screens. The food is average sport bar food and is inconsistent, but with the effort that the new management has put into the improvements, I'm sure that the food will get better. If I hadn't seen the HUGE change in the last year and all the effort the owners have put into the place, I'd have given them three stars. They do need to work on the food consistency though. I know that the owners put a lot of sweat, tears and money in resurrecting this place and I hope they now have the time to work on taking the food to a higher level. read more
