Overall-- These guys did an amazing job. I would definitely recommend them to anyone. The entire job was done without a hitch, nothing was damaged at all, job was done on time, was really really pleased with the job. Details-- I needed to move out in a very tight time window, I had found other movers that gave me a three hour arrival window which made it very hard to schedule the move with my apartment since they only reserved in 3-4 hour blocks. At last minute (2 days before), I was stressing about the other movers and decided to look for a new mover. I contacted all star movers at 9 or 10pm, and they responded within a half an hour. They were able to schedule me on a busy day (end of month, Saturday), meet all my requests, including adding the building I was moving into as an additional insured party. Throughout the late night scheduling, insurance coordination, and all the details of a multi stop move, they were incredibly responsive and helpful. So happy I found them. read more

I needed to move from Newark to Sacramento. My previous movers don't go outside the immediate Bay Area so they weren't an option, so I turned to Yelp and the state department that regulates movers -- I wanted a mover that had both a good Yelp rating and was properly registered with the state with all required insurance because if a mover doesn't comply with the law in one regard they're unlikely to comply with the law in other regards. All Star passed that barrier handily. The quote was competitive with the other mover I contacted and there were no surprises at either end -- I was prepared on my end, they were prepared on their end, and everything went off without a hitch for the sum that was quoted. They loaded the truck efficiently and in a timely manner and unloaded it at the other end without any drama. As far as damage is concerned, that's hard to say since most of my furniture is either 20 years old or is garage sale or freecycle finds, but I didn't see any on my few newer pieces. I think the important part is: don't lie to your movers, treat them nicely, and stage things well for them, and things will go without a hitch. I can't begin to tell you how great our entire experience was with All Star. We called on short notice for a long distance move and they were not only able to accommodate us but their bid was really reasonable. And they did the entire move for the price we were quoted no add on. They are a very professional company with nice clean trucks. Our movers David And Jesse were absolutely moving machines. They worked tirelessly through what turned out to be a very long day. Not only did they deliver our furniture without a scratch they also put in together and set it up for us. Excellent service for a local move! Highly recommended. We moved everything in our 3 bedroom / 2 bath house. We had some date changes up front, so we called a couple times to change our move date. Great service with the office staff (Cheli), and always available by phone. Harp, Ganesh, and Jose called the morning of the move to say they were on their way. They arrived right on time and were efficient and careful with all items and furniture. Our family didnt quite get to finish packing up our garage items, so All Star helped for a little while to pack up these remaining items for us that same morning. One guy was packing items while the other two were loading the truck. Although they offer to disassemble / reassemble furniture as a standard service, I opted to do some of it myself. I think this helped the loading process run a bit faster (I disassembled kids' bunk bed and a couple other large items to fit through doorways). Overall, the move took about 11 hours, but we had a lot of stuff to move! Overall price was very reasonable and given the option, I would use them again without hesitation. Two minor issues to be aware of, although not problematic enough to prevent me from giving the 5 start rating: 1) The online estimate process was tedious for me to complete, but in hind sight I understand its importance. I filled out the majority of the questionnaire asking about major pieces of furniture, patio furniture, garage items, etc. However, I didnt quite know how to estimate the number of boxes, so I pretty much left it blank. This turned out to be tough on the movers since we had WAY MORE BOXES than they anticipated. It added a few hours to the overall move, but again, this was not a big deal. There's no way I could have moved all that stuff by myself in one day's work! I'm not sure how they estimate the number of boxes, but might be something to ask when you are setting up your appointment and quote. Then, as you're packing, maybe call them back to update the quantity of boxes. And/or have them come onsite for an estimate. 2) Moving insurance: Note this is generic to ANY movers, not specifically All Star Movers. CA state law requires minimum coverage provided by moving company to be $0.60 per pound (ie: if they break your expensive TV that weighs 100lbs, you are covered for $60). If you want higher coverage, you have to purchase it through third party insurers. There were a couple links for these insurance companies provided on the All Star website. I almost purchased extra coverage, but in the end decided it wasnt work it to me. I read online reviews for the two companies provided, as well as a few other moving insurance companies. Total cost for my goods would have been somewhere around $500-650, but majority of online reviews said it's a tough fight to get any claims paid, and if so, the process takes forever. My main concern wasnt mishandling of my items. Instead, I was worried about the truck getting in a crash on the freeway and damaging most of my furniture. Since it was a relatively short move (~20 miles), I rolled the dice and everything turned out fine. If it were a cross country move and/or included storage of my items somewhere, then I think I would have done more research and gone with the moving insurance company that seemed to be the lesser of all evils. read more

Whenever it was time to move, I did my due diligence and got quotes from about 6 different companies. Not only did All Star Movers come in ahead of all of the others as far as cost, but they were the most professional and well organized. It was an easy process to book and they were good on their quote when it was all said and done. I was incredibly pleased with the work that Andre, Manuel, and Peter gave when helping move out of our 3 bedroom apartment into our new house. We moved roughly about 12 miles down the road, but that did not stop them from taking a ton of care in keeping our stuff safe. They were very professional, incredibly courteous, and I felt very comfortable with them handling our possessions. Unfortunately, we experienced some bumps along the road with escrow and she was extremely flexible and sensitive to our situation. Giving 4 starts instead of 3, because of the 2nd stage of my move: I moved my entire house to a storage unit and then to another house a few months later. On the first leg (house to storage unit), the crew was relatively efficient and courteous, except for Kiki(??) who seemed disengaged and dumped rusty water from a piece of patio furniture onto my concrete patio. Huge mess. The crew (not Kiki) cleaned it up quickly but not very neatly, and I had to repaint over their splatters. That would have been it for me, but I was locked into this company for the 2nd stage of the move, because I had rented from them (at $5 a pop, refundable) 30 moving blankets, and I wanted that money back. On the 2nd stage, I had a different crew - much better than the first crew, especially David, who took great care to move my furniture in. This crew worked quickly and efficiently, and David refunded me in full for the moving blankets. This company charges you on time spent moving your items, not on weight, so be careful when you give your estimate. And ask for David - he's great. read more

I could not have felt better taken care of during a chaotic move I was managing on my own for me and my two daughters.
