I love All Things Tea! My first time there was a good experience. It was a hit for me. I met the store owner Donna and she was nice. I came in a little after 6, after store hours, but they still served me & my friend. I don't want to drag on this review so here are points I want to make... -good tea (I got Jasmine Green & the smell & taste was AMAZING!!!) -nice/friendly customer service (I got to see/smell different teas I was interested in) -pretty clean tea room (tables, floor) -nice comfy atmosphere (decor, set-up) I wish they stayed open later. I had placed a takeout order at the Chinese place in this center and had time to kill. My heart skipped a beat when I discovered this tea room tucked away in the corner. Regrettably, My heart sank from my bad experience. The sales clerk was young and inexperienced yet very polite, helpful and was knowledgeable about the teas sold here. She was attentive and made good recommendations and offered taste samples. I selected 4 loose leaf teas and spent $50 including an iced tea to go. Since my Chinese takeout was now ready I advised that I'd be back promptly for my iced tea since it was still brewing. Upon returning a few minutes later, another sales clerk, middle-aged white woman who appeared to be the owner or manager, was now behind the counter. (She was present when I was making my purchases) She said, "Did you forget something?" I said I no, I had returned to pickup my iced tea order. "I think that's it", I said, pointing to a drink on the counter that another customer (young man) seemed to be in possession of. She asked the young man if he sipped from the straw, yes he had. She apologized to HIM and quipped with laughter to his female companion, oh looks like you got a free drink. Okay, where was my apology- she just gave my drink away. She then made HIS tea order and sent them on their way order in hand, again apologizing and hoped they enjoyed their free drink. Now turning to me, she says "just a minute dear and I'll remake your tea", stepping away from the counter and clearing a dirty table before remaking my drink. "Here you go dear" and that was it. No apology, no offer to make things right after any inconvenience I experienced, NOTHING. The young lady who sold me my tea returned and so I asked if she heard what happened to my tea, SHE apologized. WOW, aside from the nice young lady of color helping me, another person of color, this was horrible customer service. I left here disappointed, slighted, insulted and angry. Too bad, I would've returned to purchase a lot more product but instead will continue to order my loose leaf teas online or at a tea house in LA during one of my monthly shopping trips down south. If small businesses are worried about slumping sales and online competition they'd best pay closer attention to how they treat their customers. read more

Excellent Little Tea Shop. My friends and I went to tea at All Things Tea for our annual Christmas Tea and weren't disappointed. Wonderful tea selection. About any tea you could think of and then some. We ordered three different types/pots. They were all great . We had the High Tea which included sandwiches, Fruit, scones and a great selection of desserts. It was delicious! The owner, Donna, was very knowledgeable and polite. I invited my two daughters to take me here for the mother's day tea. This was my first time and I saw that I should make reservations and I'm glad I did. The place is small and quaint and decorated beautifully. They didn't try to hurry us out and gave us all the attention we needed. I love to make scones but these are the best scones I've ever had! Lavender scones! The tea cakes were great and the desserts were wonderful. Nothing was like "the same-ol-thing", and I never realized that tea really was so flavorful. The waitress was very knowledgeable about the teas she was serving and how the flavors complemented the foods we were eating. And she was right. The owner was super friendly and as soon as their Chef writes a cookbook I will be first in line to buy it. They are definitely not in it for the money but for sharing the wonderful experience that simply having tea together can bring. Oh, and my daughters ended up paying which left me $$ to buy a couple books and a tea cozy and a tea strainer and some Lady Grey and Rooibos tea. Loved it. First or second time in the store. Wife and I came in looking for some Gunpowder tea to replenish our home stash. Found it, plus about 3 dozen other varieties! I know little about tea, but had a nice conversation with the owner to narrow down something I might like to give it a try. Also unexpectedly was given some samples of other varieties to try. The different varieties, aromas and tastes of the tea was fascinating. Store was quaint and relaxing, and was a nice spot to sit and enjoy some baked items and a hot tea. I rarely, if ever, walk out of a restaurant - I have to be thoroughly disgusted or just severely put off by a place - sadly, this happened at this tea room. My friend and I have had this place bookmarked forever and ever and I had a friend who used to live nearby. I always wanted to stop in but I just never have. Since it was my friend's birthday and we love high tea, we decided to try this tea room for her birthday! It was completely empty inside when we got there - and I should have known that was a bad sign. There was a heavy set blonde young woman at the front of the restaurant - who asked us what we wanted. Didn't welcome us or anything. She just shoved a tea menu in our faces. When my friend, the birthday girl, mentioned a high tea menu she begrudgingly pointed out another paper menu. We looked at the menu and my friend had a couple questions - mostly about the sandwiches. We have high tea quite a bit - and have been to all the tea houses in Woodland Hills/LA/Pasadena - but this was something new. Apparently, their "tea sandwiches" are only one sandwich (or one and half - and even with that additional half - she didn't want to make it a different sandwich) that they make in the back and cut into 4 pieces. I mean, I can go to Sprouts and get some egg salad and make a sandwich myself. But the worst part, the woman had such a TERRIBLE attitude, especially to my friend which I took even more offense to! I don't know if she was racist or what, but she was just nasty! I mean just god awful! She made it seem like it was such a chore to make one sandwich. I've never heard of such a thing! And for the same prices as the lovelier high tea places for one lousy sandwich that I need an attitude for her to make. I don't think so. Let me give you some advice from someone who "teas", when I go have high tea, I want an experience! I don't want a surly woman who doesn't want to make food. I don't want to have an attitude for asking a question. I don't want one sandwich that I could make at home - cut into quarters. Then, Yelp, she asks farrrrrrrr from behind their counter (practically on the opposite side of the store) what kind of tea we wanted to drink and if we've made our decision. No other tea room would be caught dead doing that. Ummm...that was uncivilized. Take notes from Tranquility Tea Room in Thousand Oaks, please. It's painfully obvious that you need lessons and they are the closest proper tea room near you. Plus you know how afternoon tea places give you a variety of tea sandwiches with your afternoon tea? Not this place. For $30 they cut up the same sandwich. Yes. You heard me right. These chicks need to go to afternoon tea school. That is not afternoon tea or high tea, yall. That's a deli. Please change the wording on the menu. Or change your name to "All Things Deli". What you have is comical, and quite frankly, misleading to the public. You should just scratch the entire food menu and serve the abundant tea you have on the wall...cause the other stuff you're doing is embarrassing. Holy moly - this is like finding the non-coffee drinkers holy grail. The whole wall is covered in 50+ giant tins of amazing loose leaf tea in every kind from every location and every flavor imaginable. I was so pleasantly surprised. I went to get a friend a gift, and spent over an hour in there buying more tea, enjoying a fresh baked pastry and a fantastic cup of white peach tea. I cannot wait to go back on a lazy Sunday afternoon and enjoy my tea outside on their little tables. read more

All Things Tea is really about all things tea! Upon entering the shop, I was delightfully greeted by the owner. Never have I met anyone so knowledgeable about tea as Donna. Seriously. From the preparation to the quality of the tea, this woman knows her stuff! She also offers a vast collections of teas, including some I've never even heard of: black, pu erh, oolong, green, matcha, rooibos, white, yerba mate, tisane and botanical. I am an avid tea drinker and it's definitely nice to find a place where I can expand my tea palate. Overall, I had a great experience. The selection of teas can be overwhelming but Donna is always happy to help. Contrary to big-chain coffee and tea shops, she doesn't try to sell you her products for merely making profit but rather educates you about them so you can see what you like. It's a nice place to visit with friends or even by yourself. There are also sandwiches and desserts (which I will have to try when I bring a friend next time). The shop has a really pleasant atmosphere and, even if you do arrive by yourself, Donna will make you feel welcome. I thought this place was funny. Firstly, everyone seemed a tad on edge. If you've ever caught someone doing something they weren't supposed to be doing, they usually have this weird energy about them... And that's what I encountered with the staff here. I'm pretty sure I didn't catch them doing anything, though, so I'm not sure why this was. This is by no means an insult, either. I just thought it was something kind of interesting to note. Something that did kind of put a damper on my visit was the fact that it was a moderately chilly day, and they left the doors open. It felt just like we were sitting outside, and that made it kind of hard for me to enjoy myself at first. My fiancé suggested that we ask them if we could close the door, but I figured they had it open for a reason. Turns out, no... They ended up asking me if it was too cold a little later, and then they shut it for me. So, me being cold for the first 20 minutes was my fault. As is usually the case. The lesson here is that you should always ask for what you want in life, because maybe you'll get it. Otherwise, you'll just stay cold. As far as the menu goes, I was really surprised to see that they didn't have a cucumber sandwich. I really thought that cucumber sandwiches and afternoon tea were kind of, like, in it for the long haul. Together 'til the end. Best buds forever... Or something. I don't know that I was disappointed, but I was certainly thrown for a loop. This meant that I was very certainly outside of my comfort zone, and I actually had to think about what I wanted. There was nothing that really suited my diet, but my server and the person making my food accommodated me in every way they possibly could have, and the result was a very interesting and fun sandwich. I appreciated this a lot, because some places won't even swap one sandwich out for another in a tea service... This place just plain made one up for me. 10 points to Gryffindor. Wow, I sure hope Harry Potter references are still relevant. Anyway, I liked this place all right, but it wasn't my favorite. My favorite happens to be a person, in fact, so unfortunately All Things Tea couldn't even really compete. In any case, the food was just okay (expensive for what you get, though), and the tea was actually rather delightful. I ended up buying a couple different types for home. The girl behind the counter was really friendly and helped me in my decision making process. I said process because that makes it sound more complicated that what I actually do, which is stare at the labels and try to imagine what they'd smell like. She let me smell them, so it rendered my "process" pretty useless. Oh yeah, when I asked the server if they pre made their sandwiches she responded with a sincere "heavens no!" I was wearing all pink and floral print (as I am wont to do) and when I walked in, I could almost hear the decor say "Girl, we're wearing the same outfit! Twinsies!" Erin was adorable behind the counter and she knew her tea! Yes, she let me smell the tea before deciding on a tropical iced tea with agave sweetener. She put pink dried rose petals in it and totally made my day delightful. Yes, she let me sample the baked goods (that they bake on site without the extra additives/preservatives) "Take two!" I have been coming to all things tea for almost four years now, and it is as good now as it has ever been. The owner Donna is very knowledgeable and super friendly. Her staff including Erin and Vanessa are very nice and always helpful. I just can't imagine anyone coming here and not having a great experience. In terms of the teas, I have tried quite a few. All of them are extremely high quality and taste delicious. I have had teas all over the world, and I can tell you their teas are of premium quality. My personal favorites are the Matcha Smoothie and Paradise Pleasure Green Tea. Erin the chef and baker also makes excellent baked goods and meal items. Lastly, this place is absolutely immaculate clean! I love seeing a place clean and well kept, and this place goes above and beyond. It has a nice ambiance and pleasant surroundings. Took high tea with my best friend and her daughter Saturday... What a wonderful experience. We have been buying tea from Donna for 2+ years, and have stopped for scones and tea regularly. This, however, was the first time we made reservations for either afternoon or high tea. The food was both plentiful and of excellent quality (better than the Four Seasons Westlake or Biltmore Santa Barbara) and we never felt rushed. I'd recommend the scones, salmon tea sandwiches, and the flourless chocolate cake, if they are available when you go. It goes without saying that the tea was wonderful. We had three pots while sitting there. The atmosphere is comfortable and relaxing, but don't expect "Victorian" since that is not the type of atmosphere Donna is trying to create. Professionals seeking a haven from the hustle of the office should seek out this small tea room for lunch (try her quiche). Going again next weekend to meet friends! read more

Stopping by on the way to LA from SF, and found this shop using Yelp as a nice place to stop by for some afternoon snacks and tea. My wife and I had always been curious about afternoon tea and we tried it for the first time here! We tried the Tea for Two, which included a sandwich each (cucumber and egg salad were our choice), a choice of petit sweet (flourless chocolate cake and lemon cheesecake) and a freshly warmed scone each, served with a compliment of fruits and lemon curd. Finally, we got a pot of the Green Jasmine tea, which had great flavor. Our entire experience was wonderful and would recommend anyone else to try this out. What a little gem of a place! Camarillo is SO lucky to have it. Donna's knowledge of teas is phenomenal, and you can tell she's truly passionate about sharing her knowledge with her customers. She always has great recommendations. She calls tea balls "tea prisons"--hilarious!--and convinced me to buy my own tea basket filter...and I'm so glad I did. I love that she lets me look at the tea and smell it...it makes for a multi-sensory experience every time I visit! She carries three types of mate, all kinds of delicious herbals, blends and tisanes (often with huge chunks of real dried fruit and spices), an array of oolongs, pu-erh, lots of greens, whites, honeybush, and the assam that I like to use for making my own Indian chai. The selection is just unbeatable. Her on-site chef helps her with the pastries, cakes and quiches, all made with high-quality, seasonal ingredients. The crustless veggie quiche was awesome, as well as the mayo-less chicken salad. Her scones are lovely, a perfect compliment to any of the teas. I moved last year to Northern CA, but whenever I visit my parents for the holidays, my mom and I make a ritual visit to the shop to sit down and have tea and buy some for home. Everything is of the highest caliber, but it's completely unpretentious. Donna is an excellent hostess and a wonderful human being. However, I was amazed at how many selections were available for me to stick to my dietary needs. Although I follow a very restrictive diet they also had several gluten free options, dairy free options and the menu was very explicitly laid out as to what potential allergens were in foods. I had a delicious luncheon and did not feel the least deprived. My daughter-in-law did partake in a traditional high tea and it looked and she said it was absolutely delicious.
