I got married in Carmel and we had our rehearsal dinner for 32 people at Allegro on their back patio. I am SO appreciative of how accommodating and responsive Allegro's owner, Jeano, was. He texted me right away when I reached out for a quote and he always responded right away whenever I texted him any questions. My MIL was able to get there early to set up her decorations and it was such a beautiful space with the string lights. The food was amazing and there was a great selection. There were even plenty of gluten free and vegan options which is so tricky with a large group! The staff were SO nice and multiple guests even told me the staff were nice as well. They packed up our leftovers for us and they didn't even last a day because everyone at our Airbnb devoured them. I'm so grateful for Jeano and his staff providing us with such a lovely rehearsal dinner that was able to accommodate our large group without costing us the equivalent of a second wedding like most places in Carmel would. First time we've ordered from here and now I see why everyone keeps telling me to try it. The crust was really perfect- not too thick, not dry and thin - really just right and very yeasty. Toppings were well balanced and excellent quality- delivery was quick- food was still hot. Our Caesar salad could have had a few more chunks of cheese and some better croutons but the Castelvetrano olives were a nice addition- it just needed a little More snap but the lettuce was very fresh. Chilled and crunchy. We will definitely make this a weekly go to for NOT having to cook at home. read more

The staff here is great, she gave my son a pizza dough to play with and I think some older kids in the next table got some cheese and sauce too to play make a pizza. Very cute! The patio area is nice and shady but has some foot traffic. The chicken ranch pizza was great! Tasted great and not overwhelmingly ranchy. The baked artichoke though.... Wtf was that??? Don't be scared by the less than 4 stars, it's not warranted. Pizza is great! Pasta is great, chicken is great. We got the chicken picatta, great flavor, fresh lemons, chicken was crispy and hot. Food here tastes authentic and made with love. Best picatta I've ever had. We also got chèvre and pesto pizza, simple and delicious, the goat cheese is perfect and the crust is perfect, not tough or chewy. Focaccia is seasoned well but not as soft as traditional focaccia it's more flaky and dense but it's amazing. Ceasar salad was big enough to share between 2 with left overs. Service was great, server was attentive, kind and boxed up the food for us at the end. Couldn't have asked for anything more. To top it off there is a note on the menu of a guarantee and the owner is active in these comments. You can tell they care about the experience. Excited to come back and try more! read more

Furthermore no measures were taken by the restaurant to ensure the food was not tampered with by the delivery driver. First off it needs to be said this is the BEST pizza around, period. Over the years I have had the Cheese, Quattro Formaggio, Bel Paese, Gorgonzola, Pepperoni, Spinach Ricotta... all excellent. We stopped in for lunch today. The layout now was kind of confusing. The patio is nice but I wished it was a little more obvious this is the new entrance. Once we figured out where to go we sat down and the waitress brought menus. I can't come here and not get pizza. They do have pasta and other Italian stuff, but I'm team pizza. We had the Spinach Ricotta pizza. The crust as always is thin and crisp. The pesto is perfect balance of sweet and salt. The ricotta was so fresh, me thinks it's homemade? The spinach and roasted garlic were on point as well. We waited 30 minutes or so for our order. I'm not sure why the pizza takes as long as it does. There was one other table there besides us, they had 2 pizzas. Maybe the oven only holds 2 pizzas? Regardless I know it's going to be worth it- just be aware if it's busy be patient. My one bit of advice would be the gal working lunch should check on the customers at least once after they get food, I would have loved more iced tea. I'm sure Jeano will have input here. I went here last night with my family for dinner. We ordered the fried artichoke hearts and a pepperoni pizza. I wish I remembered to take a photo but the food was fantastic! This was some of the best pizza I have had. The crust was perfection and the pizza was just super flavorful! After lots of years I finally gave this place a try! Super accommodating for a large party! Immediately we got bread, drinks and we got some salad, pies and cannoli. The house bread has some caramelized onions in it and it was super tasty. The salad were also delicious. Lots of olives, thinly sliced red onion and everything was perfectly tossed in dressing. You got a little bit of everything and the salads came with two tongs. The pizzas I had were a pesto chicken and artichoke, and a red bell pepper with gorgonzola and pistachios. Both were amazing and I did not want to stop eating. We also had mini cannoli. These were a perfect two bite end to a carb fest. They were not overly sweet, the shells were crispy and also wanted a million pieces of them. The service was awesome- we had a few folks who checked in at multiple times during the dinner. This was the one worst pizza place I had been to. It looked good from the outside the night before, seeing someone making fresh pizza, so I thought to give it a try the next day. I was in Carmel for a business trip so I was unfamiliar with the city but this was behind my hotel. We went there for lunch and the server guy was a bit rude. He looked kind of lost at some point and just threw our menus on the table. I looked at the menu outside and it had some lunch buffet style offered. I asked the guy if they are still serving that and he said "No, we only do that when we have leftovers..." this caught me off guard because I'm not used to going into a restaurant and having them tell me it's not freshly made lol. There were about 2 other tables the time we got there. There was also their shop dog running around the whole place and our server was touching it and serving (without washing hands). We ordered the 10" pesto chicken pizza and took about 30mins. The water tasted funky so I ordered a sprite in the mean time and as I was watching him.... he sneezed behind the bar next to the ice box (the ice was opened). He scooped me my ice and filled with sprite. At this point I was disgusted. The pizza came out smelled good and looked good...but had a bunch of artichokes on it than actually chicken. The pizza was super greasy when biting into it. I wish I had went somewhere else. We spent $43 for this disappointing lunch meal. read more

The owner Jean-o was an absolute pleasure to work with, from the beginning he told me the answer is YES, no matter what you want, and he completely fulfilled that promise! A few days prior I had called and asked to have Calamari added to our menu, it wasn't on their menu but he said "No Problem I'll run down to the pier and pick some up". He and his staff Abraham and Elise (couldn't have been nicer and more patient with the kids! They gave them pizza dough and let them make mini pizzas that they baked for them, so fun!) Jordan was very personable and very accommodating with our requests. He was the highlight of our experience here. We ordered two pizzas (12" Meat Lovers & 12" JP Redlands Special), Kids Chicken Alfredo & a Pollo Mediterranean Salad. It fed 4 adults, 1 child and we still had lots of left overs. The pizza was tasty and so was the salad. It's not knock your socks off but it was still good. Ian's birthday was coming up and they gave us a complimentary chocolate cake with a candle on it. It seems to be a popular spot to head to after dance class... we have been here twice, after dance... and we always run into other dancers. It is convenient and kid friendly. Staff was friendly and personable. Was out of most beers, had to settle for something I didn't really want... but she said they're working on it, it will improve when the brewery next door when they get things figured out. There's a good variety on the menu. We stuck with pizza but next time we may venture out. My kid is in love, she says this is her new fav pizza place. Which says a lot, she's pretty picky. My biggest complaint when we were leaving we noticed our dancer friends at another table got hats, dough and crayons... and my kids didn't get anything. Initially my husband and I were reluctant to try this restaurant based solely on the 3.5 star reviews. Upon reading the reviews we changed our minds. We loved the owner responses to the reviews. Brava Jeano! We tried the Margherita and Combination Pizzas, they were fantastic! We sat on the patio and were warmed by the outdoor heaters. The bread on the table was great! The service was wonderful as well. The prices were reasonable for the area. Allegro was worth the trip! Also Jeano's great review responses inspired our new favorite saying at our house, "You're not that special Tonya!" Hungry on a Friday night getting into Carmel chose here by looking at a flier from our hotel, Carmel Mission Inn. Outside seating was very limited due to Covid protocol but we had a table distanced from others and accommodated our 4 legged companion. Lots of pizza choices in addition to pastas and sandwich options. Waitress was very friendly and helpful and the owner came to check on patrons to insure they were taken care of. Even brought our Bailey dog treats. We were treated to fresh focaccia bread yum as we ate our soup. Fresh minestrone with large chunks of vegetables in broth and hubby had a creamy tomato bisque. My husband and I hosted our wedding rehearsal dinner here and it was absolutely perfect! We had a pizza buffet and all of the food was delicious. We also had Cesar salad, cannoli and an appetizer. Our group of 22 was hosted in the back room so it felt super private which was really fun and made it more special. Gino was VERY accommodating and just made us feel very welcome. He even gave us a free round of pizza because he felt the service had been slow (we didn't feel that way but hey free pizza is great).
