This review is for Ashley Suan... and is so long overdue that it's embarrassing. I have been going to Ashley since 2016, and I will continue to go to her for as long as she is in the business. Ashley is kind, patient, and absolutely excellent at her job. She is a total professional. She listens to what you want and never tries to talk you into anything that you may not want. In fact, what she will do, is make sure that if you are making any big decisions (which I have done with her on many of occasions now), you are doing so because you want to, and that you have time to feel comfortable with your choice. From haircuts to color, she is someone who I trust to look out for me and to do a superb job. She also happens to be the sweetest person ever. I love chatting with her, and I also love that when I want to sit in the chair and not talk because I'm reading or doing work, she totally respects that, too. She has helped bring my incredibly damaged hair (and destructive habits that I had with it) and brought it back to life... my hair is soft, healthy, and a gorgeous color that I get so many compliments on, all because of Ashley Suan. OMG! Missy is amazing. Lately I have had some hair loss. I have felt self conscious about it and needed a solution. We decided to try hair extensions. I was weary at first thinking they would look obvious to people and they would be uncomfortable. The extensions we picked out were a pretty blonde with some very light brown highlights. The color of my natural hair is a dark brown (that had been dyed previously into a pretty coppery red). Missy said she would try her best to get the red out and match my natural color to the extensions. I pictured that it would be just close enough and that's fine. Missy applied bleach to my hair to get it lightened up and then did her magic with the dyes and toner. It ended up matching the extensions 100% spot on. Unbelievable. Next, Missy started sewing in the extensions. The quality of the hair was amazing. She used Bellami hair which was thick, soft and not too heavy. The sewing was fairly quick and painless. It was obvious that Missy knew what she was doing and made sure the 2 rows of hair were straight and in the right place on my head. My hair looks gorgeous. As you can see in the picture, the color of my natural hair on top matches the extension color. It is thick, looks natural, easy to style and maintain. The hair is also very comfortable. With the placement, I can hardly tell they are there. Missy was very professional, friendly, and a clear expert in all things hair. I've been coming to Allure spa and salon for over 20 years. Missy "O" Daniel is the owner/hair dresser. When the salon recently opened back up I went to get my hair done. I was in awe of her salon. She has done so many health/safety measures in her salon since the cov-19. She has special air filters she replaced and has 6-feet apart and cleans every 30 minutes in her salon and after every time someone uses the bathroom it's cleaned. She has plastic deviders up at each stylis spot. Also when you come in you are greeted at the door and then you sign a form and there are masks provided for you if you forgot yours. I finally ended up frustrated enough that I wrote a letter explaining they had 10 days to reimburse me or I will file small claims court for ALL of my costs plus pain and suffering. Missy could not even take the time to contact me about this. On the 8th day she had her manager call me with a set of conditions in order to get my money back. 1.) Give them back the hair 2.) Sign a "contract" stating I won't file small claims, complain to the BBB or contact the State Board of Barbering and Cosmetics 3.) Take down my Yelp review I explained I would agree to their conditions MINUS taking down my Yelp review. This was my experience and I need other people to know how I was treated. I was told they would call back. We are now on day 12 with no response. This is how Missy handles her business. Of course they want the hair back in order to cover their screw up but I was ok with this. I'm not in this for the money so I am ok with signing away small claims rights. What I was not ok with was you want me to take down my Yelp review? You want me to delete it so you can cover up how you treat your customers? So please, go to Allure if you would like to be treated as I was. Who knows how many people they have paid off to take their Yelp reviews down. This is poor business. I was in a wedding last weekend and need my brows on point I went to my handy Yelp, and found this salon close by me and I called and asked if they did eyebrows and YES!..I came in and was immediately greeted by the front girl the salon is so beautiful very clean and she said Lauren will be out. I ended up hiring Toni and her crew to do my make-up and hair for my all my bridesmaids including my mom and mother-in-law. Everyone looked flawless for the whole day! Ally did an amazing job on my hair and it lasted the whole day, even in rainy weather. All I did was show Ally a picture and she made it happen. Ichelle did my bridesmaids hair and make-up, and everyone looked so flawless! The up-do she did on my sister was drop dead gorgeous. But this 5-star rating ultimately comes from my experience with Toni. I absolutely love Toni. She did my make-up and I couldn't have felt more beautiful. I personally don't wear a lot of make-up and usually feel out of place when I do but I knew I wanted my make-up done for my wedding. I did a trial with her prior and she listened to me and I felt so confident with her. My mom loved my make-up trial so much that she decided to go with Toni instead of her own normal stylist! Oh to be in my mid twenties and work at a hip hair salon. Isn't that just the life? I would have bleached platinum blond hair and give semi decent haircuts and it would be just fab. Sorry to sound like a bitch but this place really just rubbed me the wrong way. Haircuts and hair products are expensive especially in these times and it's strikes me as crazy when I walk into this place looking to buy hair product and the receptions still have the nerve to be snobby. Does no one get it that without your customers(walk ins especially) you ladies would have no business? I'm sure you girls make about $12 an hour at best so there is really no need to give me the I'm above you stare down when I come in after a long day at work(which pays well above $12/hour). Enough already just treat your customers(PEOPLE) well. Just FYI to the public, Missy is one of the most unprofessional businesswomen I have EVER dealt with. I own a business and bend over backwards to make my customers happy, especially if they are unhappy with a service provided; therefore, I expect people will have the same pride in their business . . . Not so. I hired Sui to do my daughter's wedding while he worked at Allure. He said because our party was big that he would bring a helper. He gave us a contract we filled out with the prices of the salon and we emailed get back to the salon. In the mean time, Missy let him go. After doing so, she told us she would honor the contract and services for the wedding party. I tried to call and talk to her on different occasions and only could talk to her receptionist as she was never there. The receptionist told me she would make sure she found the contract and it would be brought to the wedding with Missy. Low and behold, she shows up to the wedding without the contract. She brought two assistants. I was never told anything about two assistants coming. They ended up doing two updos and the rest of the party had half up, half down. Nothing fancy. The flower girl just got her hair curled. Anyway, I was quoted $650. in the contract. She handed me a bill in front of my daughter, the bride, for $1,115.oo. I was so shocked, I said to her, "That's not honoring the contract." She just basically looked at me, so I wrote the check. I didn't want to cause any problems the day of my daughter's wedding. I called her the next Tuesday to talk to her about it, & I could only talk to her receptionist who was new and hadn't worked there long. Missy would never call me back. She sent me a list of her charges which were double, if not more,from the ones I was quoted when we made the contract. Terrible business. I would never ever treat my customers this way. I would at least call them and talk to them about it. Very, very disappointed. I will never give her my business again. P. S. I have never written a bad review. This is my first review on Yelp, i created an account just so i can warn people about what happened to me. Hate to say but my experience here was HORRIBLE. Initially i had been going here since 2013. I came in with copper looking hair after i had tried dying it blonde myself at home and it didnt turn out too good. I loved the look of Allure, the black decor and silver accents, everyone in the salon had really pretty hair as well. When i booked an appointment for the first time, they booked me with Missy, the owner of the salon. In 2013, she was very warm, welcoming and talkative, i told her i was going for a light blonde from my coppery color. She understood exactly what i meant and added blonde highlights all over and i was obsessed with my hair, then a few months later i came back for more highlights and lighter blonde. She was able to get that right as well. Then, last year 2014, i told her that i was kinda getting tired of the blonde and wanted to go for a jet black, (Kylie Jenner black). She understood, dyed it demi-permanent black, (just in case i change my mind) and i was satisfied. I kept the black color for about a year then earlier 2015, i thought that i was going to stick to black, so i went to Target and got a all natural, ammonia free, sulfate free, permanent hair dye (for dry damaged hair). It turned out really nice and i kept it for a while. After some time i started to miss my blonde hair again. So, last week i made an appointment for Wednesday Oct. 7th at 11 a.m for color and trim. When i came in at that time, they acted like i was new there and told me my appointment was the next day, Thursday, October 8th, (my birthday) @ 7:00 p.m for a haircut. They had gotten it all wrong, why would i want my appointment THE DAY of my birthday?? Plus i said i wanted a color correction too (which they didnt even do).. Obviously i'd want to go out and do something for my birthday, not sit in a salon all day.. i brushed off the first issue and came in on my birthday. When i got there Missy and i talked about what to do with my hair, and she told me she doesnt think that i should try and go blonde again bc the integrity of my hair was "weak". Then she rushed me into making a decision, she was completely impatient and rude, at first i thought i was taking things the wrong way. So i decided to just to get a trim (which was $70) and keratin treatment ($25) and just think about it. The next day, (Friday, Oct. 9th), I scheduled a appointment on the same day at 3:15 p.m. I arrived at 2:45 p.m and I told Missy what i wanted, that I was just gonna get a few blonde highlights, she told me that i WONT get the blonde I want. The entire time she did my hair, she barely said a word. She started adding in the bleach with aluminum foil, and in the middle of the process, she leaves and has a 10-15 minute conversation with some salon inspector.A different employee (i cant think of her name, but she had purple roots and white-blonde short hair) had to keep checking on my hair, because Missy wasn't paying any attention, she also put cotton on my roots because the aluminum foil was sliding off. When Missy finally came back to my hair she was finishing the bleaching process and while she was CARELESSLY brushing the bleach on,it seemed like she was purposefully trying to damage my hair texture. She checked on a strip of hair and my mom noticed that it lifted to bleach blonde so i felt better. The bleach had already been in for over an hour & it began to burn & itch. When we got to the shampoo bowl, Missy & the employee took the aluminum out of my hair and they were super quiet. They toned my hair with like 4 different colors. If one didn't work, they'd rinse it out n try another and they were spritzing all types of things in my hair and there seemed to be something wrong, but i didn't question them because i assumed Missy, being the owner, knew what she was doing. Then after about 45 minutes at the shampoo bowl,Missy combed my hair out EXTREMELY carelessly. Ripping my hair from root to end and it hurt extremely bad. I got back to the mirror and it seemed to be kind of caramel brown, whatever toner she used, darkened the bleached blonde!! I thought maybe in that light it was that color and in the sun it'd be different. So, i go to pay for it and the total is 175.00!!! & it wasn't even blonde!! I paid for it and went into natural lighting in the sun and IT IS THAT HORRIBLE 2013 COPPER HAIR THAT I TRIED TO AVOID!! I went back into the salon and asked Missy was there anything she could do to fix it and she was RUDE, she didn't care @ all how i felt she said"No,i already said u weren't getting the color u wanted" also they said that my regrowth was NEON yellow. She overprocessed my hair. There's no reason my regrowth should be yellow unless it was on purpose.It seemed as if she was just trying to prove her point. Maybe she was mad i dyed my own hair? I'm pretty frustrated by how unprofessional this place is. I made an appointment here with Sui a couple of months ago based on a recommendation from a co-worker. I arrived for my 1:00pm appointment at 12:50, and AS I was walking through the door, got a call from Sui letting me know that he was running about 30 minutes late. Not as in, finishing another cut, but as in, not even there. While I waited, I sat on a bench and was completely ignored by the other staff. No checking in on me, offers for water, apologies, or acknowledgements. I watched a vapid 20-something get her hair washed and cut all while holding a tiny shaking dog in her lap. Is that sanitary? I was irritated and bored. By 2:15, I had decided I was getting up to leave when Sui walked in the door. More than anything else, professional service is the most important thing to me, but I thought this could be a fluke and decided to give him the benefit of the doubt. During the appointment, Sui was friendly without being overbearing. He listened to what I wanted, made changes to things I asked for, and I didn't feel rushed even though he had come in late and had another appointment waiting. Though, to note, I did a LOT of research for the cut I wanted for my face shape and brought in several specific pictures, and even still, had to keep asking him to go shorter on each side. In the end, I LOVED my haircut. So now, I've been trying to get in to get a trim to my new short 'do. The front desk doesn't always pick up the phone, and while I understand being very busy during the day, maybe that means an online/email option should be offered to accommodate all of those missed calls...? But I was finally able to get through today. Would Sui be available at this time, this week? Nope. How about this time? Nope, he's taking the day off. How about, anybody? It turns out this week is Sacramento Fashion Week, so the stylists are all off. I don't really understand what that is about. Is the priority of your Salon to serve customers, or for your stylists to participate in extra events? Knowing that this was coming up for months, wouldn't you arrange to have more stylists on site? Maybe I'm looking at the Fashion Week thing the wrong way, but at this point, I'm too over it to care. I'll be trying somewhere else. read more

This is one of the more stylish and fun salons I have been too. The interior is bright and glittery (thanks to the sparkly chandelier and mini crystal light fixtures), and the staff is attentive (they always ask me if I would like something to drink when I come in for an appointment). They are also willing to work in walk ins if possible, which I find to be a testament to the their friendly nature. It can be a bit pricey to get your hair done here (I have been once, when I was looking to change up my look), but this is the only place I go to get my eyebrows done. Specifically I sought out Allure to partake of their tanning services - and yes, I know how I'll now die of a horrible cancerous growth on my broken, bronzed visage. Three shades darker, and sixty dollars lighter for a month's worth of sessions, I'm quite satisfied with my experience. The receptionist was professional and polite, knew proper phone etiquette, and could easily multitask with the various projects facing her upon the desk. How rare is -that-? Allure is sparkling-clean and aesthetically coiffured, if you will, with vibrant colors and clever industrial-chic fixtures. Along with haircutting and coloring are a broad range of salon services, like manicures, pedicures, and massage. Passing some of the other unused treatment rooms I saw very modern, upscale equipment dedicated to these various pursuits. It's not your usual chop shop. Should I ever lose my current stylist I will be sure to take advantage of all Allure has to offer. Long overdue, but Keri Lee is such an incredible stylist and creative colorist. I cannot recommend her enough, especially if you like fun colors! Ichelle Montoya is absolutely great! She's been doing my hair for years, and she also does most of my girlfriends hair, as they have slowly trickled over. She's very professional, has great recommendations, and is never late or keeps me in the chair longer than necessary. The salon itself is very large and modern and I never have issues paying with a credit card or getting a call back for an appointment. The hours are flexible, which is great because generally everyone needs to come in after work during the week. Gabby is also awesome for tans! Not all spray tans are created equal ( I learned this the hard way). If you have an event where you really want your makeup to stand out, look leaner, and have a healthy glow definitley treat yourself to a spray tan. I will be using both of these ladies for my wedding and I highly reccomend. read more

After moving to Sacramento from LA, it has been a nightmare trying to find a salon/stylist that I love. After 7 attempts at different salons with other stylists, I have finally found my spot! I have extremely thick, very long, naturally wavy and frizzy hair that I straighten and style. My hair is not easy! Missy does my hair and I am so grateful to have found someone who finally gets it. Allure is great. I come here regularly to have my hair cut by Georgia. She is an expert when it comes to knowledge about the hair and scalp. I never realized how much thought and skill goes into a quality hair cut. I am at the point now where when I come in, I tell her to do "what looks good" and it always comes out great. As far as the salon itself: It is very clean and professional looking. When you are waiting for your appointment they even offer you something to drink which is awesome!
