So I get massages all the time. I certainly wasn't expecting anything mind blowing because of the price, but I have never had a massage as odd as what I had yesterday. First off, the therapist did not touch my skin once. The whole massage was with the sheet over me, so no oils or anything. I would have been fine with that if there were some sort of strokes or massage techniques happening. The man was just pressing on my back with his palms The entire massage. At one point I told him I had a knot in my shoulder and he could not find it! I have never been to a therapist that could not find a knot, but he kept getting close but had no clue where it was, how to find it, or how to get rid of it when, and if he did find it. But the worst thing of all, and something that has NEVER happened before in my years of getting massages, the man kept falling asleep! About six times during my massage he slowly, and then completely stopped rubbing and it was totally obvious that he was dozing off. I had never seen anything like it! I had to shake my entire body to wake him up and it kept happening again and again! Such a disappointment. On my second time here recently I was shorted 15 min on my 90 minute massage and then after that, I gave a 20 percent tip and the masseuse was demanding a bigger tip. I gave her more than a 25 percent tip, but the masseuse shorting my massage time and demanding a higher tip than 20 percent rubbed me the wrong way so I don't know if I'll be back. The massages are good and relaxing and it's clean and nice inside however it is located in the "crack alley" area of Vegas aka Twain near Boulevard mall...near the "Shelter Island" budget suites type place. Feb,2021. Checked in our hotel, came here for a couples massage to start our Valentines Day Weekend off right. Everyone was very nice, would also match the Groupon price and asked if we wanted any upgrades. We choose the hot stones(good choice, by the way) gave us some time in the room to get comfortable and to wind down. Then about 5 min or so they came in brought extra pillows and introduced themselves,(a bit of a language barrier but still okay) and got to work. I work hard construction 5 days a week, constantly lifting and standing, I felt bad for this lady but she had excellent skills. My wife also felt good and said it was really relaxing and wants to book one before we go back home. They were polite and professional. You're greeted when you arrive by a sweet woman who checks you in and you're immediately guided to the back where all the different massage and facial rooms are. It is very clean and well maintained. My mom and I wanted to try a new massage spa and were we ever pleasantly surprised by the caliber of massage we received. It was by far one of the greatest massages we have ever had. My parents treated my brother, my sister-in-law and myself to a massage through a coupon on Groupon. The cost was $32 per person. With the parents included, the total was $160. My parents tipped $30 which is nearly 20% of the purchase price. That was unsatisfactory to them. The lady assisting us had the nerves to say, "Only $30 for 6 people." We corrected her by saying it was 5 and the massages were only $32. Each masseuse also came out asking for their individual tips. We gave them another $20 after feeling bullied to tip more. I planned a getaway for my husband and I which included a couples massage. I booked everything in January for our late February trip. Multiple times in the days prior and the day of our scheduled appointment with Aloe Spa the appointment was confirmed. Upon arrival we were a little hesitant with the location but proceeded. We arrived 20 minutes prior and waited until 5 minutes after our scheduled 3pm appointment before being helped. At that time we were informed they overbooked and couldn't provide services for another 30-40 minutes. We explained that we had booked everything to fit into our short trip and we couldn't wait. This place is very misleading. We booked a couple's massage for one price, and then they demanded a huge tip from us. I don't mind tipping, but I won't be bullied into doing so. If one price is advertised that's what I was willing to pay with a tip. Unfortunately this was the most non relaxing massage that I ever had, my entire body feel like it was beat up after I left. After we put our clothes on there were ten of them at the register demanding a larger tip. I explained that I paid for my services BEFORE I was even serviced, and that I wasn't happy with my massage, so we gave what was sufficient. Why would we tip an additional$30 each?
