This is the perfect takeout place but there is an area with indoor seating. Only got the garlic shrimp plate but now I want to try everything on the menu. There were a few parking garages and street parking nearby as it is in downtown LA and all. Plenty of seating when you come in and there's a fe other food stalls inside. When we went up to order, the man at the front was super helpful and nice. We tried a few different things to all try. -Beef Plate Lunch 5/5- The Meat Jun in question, was thin and battered perfectly but still was easy to bite. The sauce it came with was extremely authentic and felt like home. It was served on top a bed of purple rice. One of us paired it with the cucumber which was perfectly spicy and flavorful. The other paired it with a side of the potato-mac salad that was not too creamy and felt complimented the meat Jun well. -Teri Chicken Plate Lunch 4/5- I loved the flavor of the chicken, but some pieces were a bit drier than what I would have preferred. Also served over purple rice with a side -Spam Musubi 5/5- Served with their signature purple rice, which I have never had before. It was loaded up with rice and spam and lots of flavor. It was a nice reminder of home. - Local Breakfast 4/5- I love Portuguese sausage and my only critique is that there's not enough of it! -Kalbi Short Rib Plate 5/5- Was a special that they had for the day and they still had a few left. Very flavorful and easy to tear off the bone, I loved it. Overall, Broken Mouth satisfied our cravings and exceeded all our expectations! Would definitely go back. Also shout out for the complimentary drinks as it was our first time there, truly appreciated! Would definitely recommend and come back when we're in the area!

Will never be the same as eating back home on the islands. Aunty Maile's comes close though. Been here a few times since they moved from the spot over on Crenshaw. I like it here. More parking. Only problem is if you're going in the afternoon, sometimes it's a bitch to make the left turn into the parking lot because of all the traffic. Walk in. Place your order, pay and then grab a seat. Indoors or out. Someone brings your order to you. Not really table side service. But the staff is friendly. Nice - but usually busy so they don't really talk story. Yesterday's visit, I picked up the two item combo and all Mac Salad (no rice). The Kalbi was good but the portion size was on the small side. The Chicken Katsu was a little dry. Not so much that I didn't eat it. And the Mac Salad - for my taste, I like it made with more mayo. I like it to the point that people's arteries start to clog just watching it being made. Anyway, my family is going back home in a few days I got a craving after they asked me to take them to LAX. So, after work, I went and got my fix. Like I said before - it's not the same as if I was back home but for Hawaiian style food in the LA area, this is my favorite.

There was a small line forming prior to opening. We waited about 20 minutes for our order to be made. We shared the Sunset Beach and added the Snow Cap. Probably best to skip the snow cap. I didn't taste the condensed milk at all. The flavor is delicious. Towards the bottom of the shaved ice, there wasn't anymore flavor though.

The Hawaiian barbecue chicken was incredibly juicy, tender, and full of flavor without being dry at all. The real star of the meal, though, was the short ribs. They were unbelievably tender, perfectly seasoned, and practically fell apart with every bite. Every part of the meal was cooked with care, and you could taste the quality in every dish. The service made the experience even better. Everyone greeted us with a smile, was genuinely welcoming, and made us feel appreciated from the moment we walked in. It's always refreshing to eat somewhere that not only serves amazing food but also has a team that clearly enjoys taking care of its customers. This was easily one of the best Hawaiian meals I've had in a long time, and I already know I'll be back. I'm especially excited to try the chicken katsu next because if it's anywhere near as good as the barbecue chicken and short ribs, I'm sure it'll be another favorite. If you're looking for authentic Hawaiian comfort food with generous portions, incredible flavors, and outstanding service, this place absolutely deserves a visit.

Over the years I've gotten take-out here but have also done dine-in. It seems they mostly do catering now, because they have very short business hours for the public. They are only open Thursdays and Fridays 10-3. Per the nice male employee who gave me my order, they're open on Sat and Sun if they don't have a lot of catering jobs, otherwise they're closed. Their website says their dining room is closed, but the employee says it's open Thurs and Fri. Nevertheless, I followed the website's info and ordered pick up. Here's what I ordered: 1) Komai's Big Breakfast. Komai was Aloha's original chef. Two eggs with all the meats: Portuguese sausage, Spam, Vienna sausage, corned beef hash plus 2 scoops of rice and a Hawaiian roll. No surprises here, very nice. 2) Kal B Chicken plate lunch. Chicken marinated in the same sauce as the more familiar kalbi beef short ribs, with rice and mac salad. The chicken did not seem to take up the marinade as well as beef, so it was tasty but on the dry side. I'd probably give their chicken teriyaki a go next time. The mac salad was fine, did have potatoes. 3) Spam musubi. Again no surprises, classic 4) ordered a side of char siu, but it was not available. A nice go-to if you're hankering for classic Hawaiian on a Thurs or Fri.

It is a small, unassuming little place with a free parking lot. Upon entering, I was greeted warmly, and I have to say, the service was great! The lady at the counter was super sweet and made small talk with me. I got my order which came out to $17.12 after tax. Food-wise, the fried chicken was indeed delicious! I loved the batter: it was shatteringly crisp. The chicken was tender and flavored well, but I loved the sauce that came with it! For the mac salad, I thought it was just okay. It tasted a bit plain from other mac salads I've tried, but the noodles were cooked perfectly. For the price, the portion size is okay, but I'm not complaining since the food was good. Overall, the friendly service and fried chicken is what makes me want to come back again! I definitely want to try their other offerings too. Would recommend!
