The new spot in Lahaina is back in its former home and better than ever. It does get busy, we showed up on a weekday, right when it opened and were seated at a table closest to the water. The view here is serene. Food was amazing, we had the shoyu chicken plate and coconut shrimp plate, chicken was tender and delicious, shrimp was crispy and came with a sauce that was sweet and not too spicy. I absolutely hate to do this - as I really want to support any business, but particularly Lahaina businesses. That being said - after $250 for five people, the most basic of meals, which nobody enjoyed - I have to give a negative review. We had the mahi (fresh fish of day). It was dried out and the pineapple salsa was nothing but a few small pineapple chunks. I had the Alli, plate - the salmon was in a small little cup like salsa - was super fishy, the banana wrapped pork had one nice chunk in it - but tastes like spinach - while The other chunk was simply fat. My Kahlúa pork was solid, but was not smoked and dried out - I believe they added smoke flavoring to it. The Loco moco was well presented in a nice bowl but, the hamburger was far less beef and more stuffing like a meatloaf. The best two were the aloha mixed plates as they had a nice piece of glazed chicken, the mahi-mahi, and pork. All enjoyed the Mac salad. We had the Lahaina lemonade, and the sunset margaritas - good drinks but pricey - new bartender, so I'll give him a break, but the waitress herself was complaining that it took so long. Cute place, great location, amazing after the sunset on the beach. The place will do fine as people look to have dinner in the Lahaina area - but, will not see a lot of return guests. Love this place! Such a chill vibe here with great music, views, and people. Service is always great and friendly. The happy hour marg was delicious. Poke bowl was a good app to start (just don't overload on the rice unless that's your meal haha). The fish is fresh and very good. One of our favorite places to go on Maui. Highly recommend the Kalua Pork Sandwich and the Loco Moco. The service itself was good, though we did feel like cattle moving through an assembly at times. The service was bordering rushed. We love fast and quick, but as soon as our plates cleared, they plop a credit card machine on your table, click through it for you- you don't even get a chance to review your bill because the server clicks through all the buttons that shows the itemized bill, and lands you on the tip screen before telling you to have a good night and walk away. Went here for our first night on Maui and it was the perfect way to start our trip! It's an open air restaurant so a view of sunset is attainable from many spots in the seating area. We got the margaritas with hibiscus and the mango/pog coconut rum drinks. The margarita was flavorful and the coconut rum drink was blended so it was a little watery. We went here the other night for our last dinner in Hawaii. Too bad the food wasn't good. We made a reservation and were seated promptly which was good. Our waitress was great. I got a lava flow which was tasty and my husband got a mai tai which he enjoyed. We got the wings to split. It came with 5, although only 1 of them was a drum. They were tasty but nothing spectacular. I got the pulled pork sandwich and my husband got the mixed plate. The sandwich had a slaw on it that was drowning in mayo which I didn't like so I scraped as much of it off as I could. The sandwich was greasy and really heavy and I didn't enjoy it very much. The garlic furikake fries were pretty good so I mainly just ate those. My husband didn't enjoy his dinner either. He said the food was bland and overly greasy. We both agreed that this was the worst meal of the trip. The location was gorgeous so I gave a second star. Too bad the food didn't match up to the view. read more

Aloha Mixed Plate is a great restaurant combining traditional Hawaiian fare with an upper scale atmosphere. Getting to the restaurant was a bit difficult as the parking situation is not great. Your best option is going to be parking at the Lahaina Cannery and walking over. Once you arrive you can be seated either on the deck or at a sidebar. We opted to sit on the deck and were treated with a view of the ocean as the sun set. The staff was very friendly and our food came out quick. We ordered the Grilled Cheese and Loco Moco with some diet coke (free refills by the way). The Grilled Cheese was good, certainly better than a regular home made one, but still a grilled cheese either way. The Moco Loco was fantastic though. You have the option of either white or fried rice and we chose white and were not disappointed. The meat, gravy, eggs, and rice all mixed in so well with one another and the flavors complement one another perfectly. The Moco Loco is very hearty and after this you will probably need a long nap, which isn't hard to do when you're in Hawaii and only steps away from the beach. By the end of our dinner we were all full and happy which is all you can ask for. If you're in the Lahaina area definitely come check this place out. read more

It has the feel of being in a patio by the water. In fact, that's basically what it is. Nicely covered from the sun and a great panoramic view of the ocean. They have a nice little manned bar as well. Oh you prolly want to make reservations. It gets busy. The Hawaiian style food is good. I can't say it's substantially better than other places I've been on the island and prices are much higher. The main difference is the plates are set and presented much more nicely. Had to try the Aloha Mix Plate of course, since that's the restaurant name! Shoyu chicken, thinly sliced teriyaki ribeye, and fresh fish. Felt like it was pre cooked as opposed to fresh after ordering but was still pretty good. Someone else had the loco-moco, a local-style beef patty, steamed white rice, topped with 1 egg over easy. Smothered in brown gravy. Now THAT was good. We also had the Ali'i plate, which is a traditional Hawalian feast: kalua pig, pork lau lau, lomi lomi salmon, and poi. Not bad , except for the poi which was eh. And for the light eater, the grilled cheese sandwich was tasty, I think a big reason was the delicious brioche bread. That was unique. The parking lot is teeny-tiny. Same with the parking slots. And of course everyone is renting massive SUV's. Just park on the street or across the street in the Cannery lot. Laidback Hawaiian spot with a happy hour next to the beach. Came here for a late lunch and we were able to get seated immediately. I had the aloha mixed plate while my boyfriend had a burger with the furikake fries. The view was really nice, as we overlooked the ocean and could hear the luau next door gearing up. Service was great and fast and our water glasses were always full. The Korean wings were crunchy outside and juicy inside with the sauce having the right amount of heat. We tried AMP for the first time on a repeat trip to Maui. It was really good and extremely reasonably priced. We had a couple cocktails, the smoked pork special and loco moco. The location can't be beat, but be prepared to park by Safeway and walk over. The only thing that could be improved slightly, was the service. Aloha Mixed Plate is a must stop anytime we're on the island. Glad to see they're up and running again. Located right by the Safeway in Lahaina, the parking lot is small, so keep in mind you might have to park elsewhere and walk over. We came on a mellow day this time and although we had a reservation, we saw someone without one get seated pretty quickly. The views are great, and although some tables are closer tot he water, there really isn't a bad seat in the house. Food is always solid. Glad to see they have some NA beer options, as they were not available the last time we came. We had the poke and the coconut shrimp (4pc) to start. The shrimp was a little too crunchy for my taste, but the flavor was there! And the crunch was fine for the rest of our party. For our mains we ordered the catch of the day (mahi) and that came with a side of rice and the mixed plate. Portions are smaller than I remember but you're definitely not leaving hungry. Finished off with the Aloha "pie", which is actually ICE CREAM IN THE SHAPE OF A PIE. We knew what we ordered, but we did hear a table nearby be confused because they thought it was a pie. Nice mid size restaurant on famous Front St. Sitting is all outdoors including the bar but has a roof to keep the sun out of your eyes and food. The parking lot was a bit small/tight but we were able to find a spot. Our server was friendly and the staff was efficient. We shared the Asian chicken salad and the Ali'i Plate. The salad was refreshing, the chicken was nicely seasoned.
