If you're looking for a relaxed, authentic Maui meal with an unbeatable oceanfront setting, Aloha Mixed Plate is a must. The casual atmosphere is exactly what you want on vacation--grab a table just steps from the beach, watch the waves roll in, and if you time it right, you'll be treated to one of Maui's spectacular sunsets. It's the kind of place where you can kick back, slow down, and enjoy the island. The food was fantastic. The fresh mahi mahi and swordfish were perfectly prepared, and the Hawaiian classics didn't disappoint. The teriyaki chicken was tender and flavorful, the lau lau was rich and authentic, and the kalua pig was smoky, juicy, and delicious. Best of all, the portions are generous and the prices are very reasonable, making it a great spot for a family dinner without breaking the bank. Great food, incredible views, and true aloha spirit--we'll definitely be back!

A good place for a good meal. The service was really good. The server took our order and the food came out quickly. There is plenty of seating. I ordered the beef teriyaki plate and the aloha plate. Both were good.

We were tired of resort food and since theres no more downtown Lahaina, this little area was popping. Theres like a mall across the street with food trucks. But we wanted a mixed plate and saw the reviews. We ordered to go and got the aloha mixed plate, which came with shoyu chicken, teriyaki rib eye and fresh fish, and also got their mochiko chicken. The mochiko chicken was like chicken kaarage, it was good. The mixed plate was mixed in my opinion. The fish was bland, but the chicken and beef were good. I could have gone without the fish. If you ate at the restaurant, it looks like it had a nice view!

Avoid having to deal with the rude wait staff We were at baby beach about five minutes away and decided we would order some plates for a late lunch. We came by to pick them up, but then when we saw there was tons of available seating in a quaint and pleasant shaded area with a nice view, we asked the host if we could eat our meal in their outdoor dining area. The older gentleman host at the front indicated that it was fine. But upon sitting down, the wait staff treated us as if we violated some sacred law. One server eventually walked over and told us that they usually don't allow patrons who order to-go to sit at a table and eat. Are you kidding me? We literally just bought your food and asked the host if we could eat at a table. And now you're going to give us attitude for eating YOUR food in YOUR dining room?! Either re-train your host or tell your wait staff to treat your patrons with some courtesy. Ideally both! But please don't ruin our meal by rudely informing us we were breaking some policy. Your wait staff left our family of five with a pretty crappy taste in our mouths. And in case you're wondering, we left a 20% tip for the rude waitress who did nothing but bring us water with a large serving of attitude.

Aloha Mixed Plate is a solid choice if you're looking for a classic Hawaii style plate lunch. I got the Aloha Mixed Plate which comes with shoyu chicken, teriyaki ribeye, fried fish, rice and mac salad. The shoyu chicken was juicy and flavorful, cooked really well and probably my favorite of the three meats. The fish was fresh with a light crispy batter, and the housemade tartar sauce paired well with it. The teriyaki ribeye was a little salty for me but still had good flavor. At around $25 it's definitely a bit pricey for a plate lunch, but considering how much you get and the variety on one plate, it's not outrageous. Overall a good meal and somewhere I'd gladly come back to.

I came early dinner time and was the perfect time to come because it was not that busy. They have full out door seating so on humid days can feel a little warm but was not super bothered by it. The furikake garlic fries were AMAZING! I LOVED the crunch they had where you could tell it was fresh and hot from the fryer. If you love a well done fry these are the fries for you! Even the soggier ones (which there weren't many) were so tasty! They had the perfect garlic butter flavor. The aloha mixed plate was also delicious but there was nothing that stood out to me from other plates I've had. The chicken and beef were good but the fish was a little over done for my liking. The Mac salad was great! Which can be hard to do but was a delicious bite. Personally the reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 was because of the service I received. It wasn't horrible but i felt as though my waitress didn't provide me with knowledge of the menu. I wasn't informed of the specials and was not informed of the fish of the day until I had asked about it since it was included in the plate. Yet I heard her mention to another table of the specials of the day. I also felt a little uncomfortable when it came to paying because, like many other places they had the portable card reader, when she brought the card reader to me the tip was already pre checked AND she didn't allow me to hold the reader to adjust tip if I wanted to, which I had. It made it an uncomfortable situation where she watched me keep the tip there and pay for service that didn't deserve a 22% tip.

Great food! The first time I tried the teriyaki beef which was good. The second time I tried the chow funn noodles which were to die for!!! Would highly recommend. Wait times are not too bad but I'd suggest making a reservation if you're coming on the weekend for dinner. Lots of parking available in front.

Such a cute place. Outdoor seating with amazing views. We sat down right by the ocean. We ordered the passion fruit soda. So tasty. Aloha mixed plate was great with lots of food. Loved the fish. Also the mochiko chicken was tasty but a little chewy & dry. With a little soy sauce it was delicious. Friendly service, laid back vibes.

Aloha Mixed Plate is a Lahaina institution! It's been here for as long as I can remember. The new location is a great improvement. And I like the ability to make reservations. Attentive service. Extra happy to get a table as close to the water as possible. Adding an extra star for the oceanfront views. My Chinese chicken salad was a nice switch after eating heavy for days. Daughter loved her pulled pork with smoky flavor. Husband didn't have to choose; he selected the full mixed plate with chicken, ribs, fish. He substituted macaroni salad for fries. Dessert sounded good, but was so-so. It's still a worthwhile stop every year!

Well this one is between 3 and 4 stars restaurant. Really want to like it but the loco moco is really mid, the gravy is average and the fried rice I added isn't really fired rice. Fried noodles is ok but nothing special. The kalbi is decent. Upside down pineapple cake is pretty good. Overall, kinda disappointing

What a cute little restaurant! The ocean views are beautiful, and the whole place has such a breezy, open-air vibe. It's outdoorsy, relaxed, and just really charming overall. The service was amazing, we felt super welcomed the entire time. There's also plenty of parking in the lot, which is always a plus. We ordered the Aloha Mixed Plate ($24), which came with shoyu chicken, teriyaki ribeye, fresh fish with tartar sauce, rice, and mac salad. Such a solid combo, everything was flavorful and hit that classic local plate lunch spot. We also got the loco moco ($21), which also came with mac salad, and upgraded to fried rice for $2. For dessert, we tried the Aloha Pie ($12), which had a chocolate cookie crumble crust, haupia ice cream, macadamia nuts, and shaved coconut. I usually don't like haupia-flavored desserts, but this one had a really subtle flavor and was so good. Definitely a 10/10. Great food, great vibes! Would absolutely come back!

Great location with one of the best sunset view on the island, and the staff was friendly and attentive. But the food was a big disappointment. The fried noodles was too salty that numbed our tastebuds after having it. The kalbi looked promising, but the meat was hard to chew. The only great item on the plate was the macaroni salad. Unless they make improvements to the food, this place will only be a one-time-kinda-place for the island regulars like us. read more

The food was the best part about this place. Korean Wings so bomb! **NOT LOCAL FRIENDLY, DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE ** However, this place only caters to tourist. There was multiple empty tables in the shade. But the hostess chose to seat us at a table in the sun, under a tree that had multiple flowers falling. Mind you, we were the only ones sitting in the row of tables in the sun. We were only a party of 4, so we definitely could have gotten sat at one of the tables in the shade. We brushed it off, but a tourist family were seated right after us, at one of the tables in the shade! We knew those tables weren't reserved because our waitress let us know if was ok for us to move into the shade if we wanted to. Also, it took 15 minutes for us to even get water at our table. The food came pretty fast, and was very delicious. But we were never checked on, never received any refills, nothing. All while the surrounding tables were catered to and checked up on frequently. We were already done with our food and then the waitress decides to ask if we need anything. We are very respectful people, we never give service workers a hard time. But to back this up, we also saw another local family sat maybe 30 minutes after us, and they too were placed in the tables under the sun. Horrible service for locals. I get it, it's definitely a tourist spot. But this place should cater to the locals more, because it is the locals that held them in business during Covid and after the fires. Will probably never come back here again. read more

Yummy and fulfilling breakfast in West Side Maui! We were looking for a quick bite post coffee and ordered Fried Rice Loco Moco, Soufflé Pancakes with Haupia Cream & Maple Syrup, and the Breakfast place with Portuguese Sausage (not pictured). All of it was exactly what we needed in the morning and reasonably priced for the inflated Maui prices. Will be back to try lunch/dinner! I was eager to try this place. The mochiko chicken sounded really good. When I took the first bite, it wasn't hot at all. Food should always be served hot, not only because of taste, but it's also a safety issue. Food that isn't hot can mean that it's been sitting out too long which can make you sick. Another thing was that the server was not very friendly. The final thing that irritated me was that the tipping suggestions were higher than other places. Starting at 20%. I don't mind paying that for good service, but since we didn't get good service, I don't think I should feel obligated to pay that much. I think the food was ok, but nothing that I would care to eat again. read more

This place is a great local place with great authentic Hawaiian food. The service is awesome, and they are very friendly. They give you the Aloha feel. There is a mix of locals and tourist that eat here. Our food was great. My to go is usually their Aloha Mixed Plate, and it is is very yummy with a variety. Tonight I tried the mahi mahi and it was very yummy with a mango salsa, it came with steamed rice, and macaroni salad. Their lava flows are great too for a cocktail. This is a must when coming to Maui, it doesn't get any better than this for local authentic Hawaiian food place around this area. Support local business. read more

Wonderful spot tucked away from the hotel areas. The food was authentic, fresh, and flavorful. The drinks were so yummy, highly recommend the lava flow/pina colada. Our sever was super friendly. The vibes were great with the sun setting and calming music. Bonus is that they have a parking lot. Spot was pretty busy so would recommend having a reservation. We were so excited to see that Aloha Mixed Plate has returned to Lahaina. We love the casual, near the ocean location and traditional Hawaiian meals. We had an ahi poke bowl and the traditional aloha mixed plate along with 2 yummy tropical drinks( mai tai & lava flow). I was really shocked at how disappointing our experience was. My sister visits here regularly and she was excited that Aloha Mixed Plate reopened. Despite having dinner reservations, we still had to wait. We ordered a decent selection of food for a table of five but things didn't seem as fresh as could be. My sister felt like this place takes the overage of food from the company's luau restaurant. Efficient but not great for the customer. I was especially let down by the furikake garlic fries. Who could mess that up? The bill was higher than should be. Parking was difficult. read more

We had dinner last night and the mixed plate was so amazing so we went back for brunch today!! The Moco Loco was AMAZING!!! I don't think the word is out yet that they serve brunch. Omg i could not recommend this place enough! The food was so delicious! The Kalbi Ribs are the best on the island! The ambiance especially during sunset is what you only see in movies! And the service was immaculate and fast! And you can really feel the aloha spirit. We did have a bitter sweet feeling due to what happened in Lahaina but it felt good supporting this local business to try to get Lahaina back to what it was or even make it better. read more

I would come back to Maui just to dine here. Seriously. My family and I have been visiting Maui for several years and always look forward to enjoying a meal here. We were especially excited to hear Aloha Mixed Plate had returned. On our most recent visit we arrived a bit before the lunch rush and were promptly seated with a beautiful ocean view. The Aloha spirit thrives here - the staff are warm, welcoming, and happy to help with any questions. Food: Hands down, the FRIED RICE LOCO MOCO is MUST try. If you've never had loco moco before then THIS is where an introduction is required. If you (as a visitor) has had loco moco before, prepare to be ruined for life. The only con here is that you will likely need a nap after. The pulled pork and mac salad are also very tasty! Last but not least, you should definitely try the pineapple upside down cake - even if you think you can't. Trust me, you can ...even after the loco moco. Literally dissolves in your mouth and is lovely treat worth having ...even if just a bite when you are already bursting at the seams. You won't be sorry. It makes me sad that I likely won't be enjoying Aloha Mixed Plate today or tomorrow but I am happy that you are reading this and ready to go enjoy it! Aloha! read more

We have eaten here before they closed, and now in January 25, They are back open on Front Street. A must go!!! Food was awesome . Food and service were great. We were last there in July of 2021. Since then, the restaurant replaced the umbrellas with a nice metal roof system. It does a better job of providing shade than the umbrellas did. The sunsets are still gorgeous while dinning. read more

We really loved our experience at Aloha mixed plate, we had reservations and went in right away. We enjoyed a beautiful sunset as the restaurant is right on the shore. Food came in quickly. We were looking for a place with authentic Hawaiian dishes and we found Aloha Mixed Plate. The food was great. I had the shoyu chicken and my spouse had the kalbi ribs, which she let me try. The ribs were delicious and chicken was great too. A couple of days later, we ordered the ribs again to take back home, that's how good the food was. It is set outside with excellent views of the ocean to enjoy while your eating. Their service was excellent too. If you're in Maui, go try this place. read more

Established in 1996.

In the early days of the sugar plantations, lunch was a simple affair. Plantation workers gathered in the fields for their mid-day meal. The Japanese laborers would bring teriyaki beef with rice and pickled vegetables. Seated next to them might be their Filipino neighbors with the traditional dish adobo or perhaps a pork or chicken stew. The Koreans had their kalbi or marinated ribs and the Chinese a rice noodle and vegetable dish called chow fun. Hawaiians were known for their kalua pig, roasted in an underground oven called an imu. It wasn't long before they began to share their foods with one another and the "mixed plate" was born. This is the part of Hawaii's history that we share at Aloha Mixed Plate.

Wow. I can't believe so many people recommend this place. One client, a co-worker, and numerous books said this is the place to go if you want mixed plate food in Maui. We knew we had to check it out and during our short flight from Oahu to Maui, we were salivating thinking about having a divine meal. We arrived and we were promptly seated closest to their killer view of the ocean. I could clearly tell the server was one of those islanders who hates tourists, and I completely understand, but at the same time, tourism is a huge part of Hawaii's economy, so I see it as we're bringing money into their economy, so get over it. Either way, he was very short and made no attempt to give us any type of positive service. We ordered the following: 1) Coconut shrimp: PASS. Supposedly one of the things they're famous for. Please. Way too much coconut, which ended up drowning out the flavor of the actual shrimp. 2) Furikake Garlic Fries: I was really excited for this, but again, disappointed. You could not taste the garlic AT ALL! I couldn't believe it. We thought we got the regular fries. We had a better time just eating the furikake sprinkles by themselves on top. 3) Loco Moco: Gravy was not flavorful. The burger steak had way too many onions in it. The macaroni salad was the highlight, which is really sad. 4) Fried Mahi Mahi: Very dry and not flavorful. The gave a packet of tartar sauce and that was disgusting too. 5) Kalua Pork Sandwich: NO FLAVOR AT ALL. Kalua pork is supposed to be flavorful!. I couldn't believe how bland it tasted. The BBQ sauce they included was bad too. Also, we ended up picking little flowers, that fell from the trees above, from our food. Again, I think we just got a crap waiter. Everyone else was courteous and helpful, but ours was just negative and clearly didn't want to be there. Overall, very bad experience. The views are great, but there are more than enough places along the coast of Lahaina (I recommend looking around the Front St area) where you'll get much better food and the same, if not better views. During our honeymoon last week on Maui, my wife and I had the pleasure of having lunch at Aloha Mixed Plate in Lahaina. It was a wonderful, quintessential beachside dining experience that we thoroughly enjoyed. We visited on a Wednesday afternoon, and there was no wait. We were seated promptly on the outdoor patio, where we had a beautiful panoramic view of the coast. The setting couldn't have been better for a relaxing midday meal. Our server even offered to take a great photo of us with the stunning backdrop, which was a nice touch. Service was decent -- nothing overly attentive, but perfectly fine for a casual beachside spot. We ordered a few drinks, including some perfectly crafted Mai Tais that really hit the spot. For food, I had the Kalua Pork Sandwich, which was fantastic -- tender, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. We also shared a plate of pork nachos that were loaded with toppings and perfect for sharing. It's important to note that Aloha Mixed Plate is located in Lahaina, an area where neighboring regions have been deeply impacted by the recent fires. While this particular restaurant and its immediate surroundings didn't appear to have been directly affected, there are visible signs of rebuilding. Yet even in the face of loss, there is an unmistakable spirit of Aloha, resilience, and renewal in the community. It was heartwarming to witness that spirit firsthand. We really enjoyed our lunch at Aloha Mixed Plate. It's the kind of place where you can sit back, enjoy a great meal, soak in the coastal views, and feel the island spirit all around you. I gave this place 2 stars because the food is good, and the price is great. But when you get kicked out of this establishment for ordering no onions in your mix, then you are considered a problem and get kicked out. So what happened is I ordered to-go. Yes, they have a To-go option, and I ordered my mix plate with no onions. Well after riding my bike from Ka'anapali to Lahaina down the tourist filled highway (3 miles) I was informed they can not do my order with no onions. So I asked why didnt someone call me since you took my phone number when I placed my order. And I guess I had attitude, and was difficult to deal with. Then I was told "Well I don't do special orders on my watch" by the manager in charge. And then ordered me to leave. So I actually went to a server to place my order and this guy came running out from the bar to tell the crew not to take an order from me. How crazy is that! So at this point I left and went to Outback Steakhouse across the street since Ka'anapali is so expensive for food. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm aloha spirit and outstanding service. The staff at Aloha Mixed Plate went above and beyond to ensure that our dining experience was nothing short of perfect. They were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, making excellent recommendations. Now, as for the food - it was absolutely delicious! DO NOT GET SUCKED IN THIS IS A TOURIST TRAP!!!!! Many of the local Hawaiians joke about how people get sucked in by this place and treated horribly. I will tell you my story. It was my first and last time eating at this place. We went as a party of 5 and waited a long time for a table. Strike 1 we got a short white girl that was slightly overweight as our server and she was very snarky with us. Like it was our privilege to be eating there. We ordered food and I've had some items at L &L BBQ in the states that were better!!! This was strike 2. So as were eating our subpar food we over hear her and another coworker gossiping about customers being overly disrespectful. Realizing we didn't get along with our server she AUTOMATICALLY INCLUDED 20% GRATUITY For a party of 5!!! So we left and checked out the bill again. The next day we called and asked the manager how big the party has to be to include gratuity and the manager answered 6!! She took out the tip knowing she gave us poor service and wasn't going to get tipped much. So we went back, and she was working the next day, made the girl give us back the tip out of her own pocket ,pointed out what she did to the manager and she apologized (wasn't sincere at all)Strike 3. Overview: 2 Food: 2 Service: 1 Value: 1 Ambiance: 4 Noise: 4 (Acceptable) --- I had high hopes for Mixed Plate after their reopening, but unfortunately, my recent experience was a major letdown. Despite having a reservation, we waited about 30 minutes, and the staff didn't seem particularly apologetic about it. The service was generally kind, but every request felt like an inconvenience to them. The food isn't what it used to be. They've pivoted hard towards catering to tourists and making a "buck" -- it really shows in the menu's quality. A perfect example is the garlic fries, which were once coated in furikake and garlic. Now, they're barely dusted with seasoning, and it's clear that the care just isn't there anymore. Go check out photos of the garlic fries from years ago and look at the recent photos. It's embarrassing, for them. On a positive note, it's wonderful to see the restaurant reopen and generate business, especially in the aftermath of recent challenges. I've made a lot of memories at Aloha Mixed Plate over the years, so I really wanted to see them come back strong. The prices definitely caught me by surprise they were much higher than what I'm used to back home. That said, the service was quick, friendly, and attentive throughout our meal. We started with the Korean fried wings, and while they were okay, they left me wanting a little more in terms of flavor. My companion ordered the coconut shrimp and said they were fresh and tasted really good. The drinks, however, were a disappointment. They tasted watered down and just didn't have much flavor. The standout dish was the Aloha Mixed Plate. The fish was fresh and delicious, and both the teriyaki ribeye and shoyu chicken were well-seasoned and enjoyable. That plate alone made the meal worthwhile. Overall, I'd give Aloha Mixed Plate 3 out of 5 stars. This place was great! Good quality food and fast service with affordable prices, which is hard to find around Kaanapali Beach! We ordered a couple of drinks off of their specialty cocktail menu, they were all delicious and we around $5-6. We started with an appetizer of coconut prawns, which were good, we only received 4 in the order which seemed kinda small, but they were only $8. For lunch we had one of their chicken dishes with rice, I think it was one of their specialty dishes and we also tried their special of fish tacos which was served with grilled mahi mahi, I really liked the tacos because the mahi mahi was grilled and not breaded like most fish tacos that I have tried in the past. My family visited AMP twice during our vacation to Maui last week. Here's a rundown of how it went: The good: The view was outstanding, right on the beach in Lahaina next to Old Lahaina Luau. The food was generally good, kids liked the Teriyaki hamburgers and my wife loved the chow funn. I had the ono both grilled and sauteed and was OK each time, but not great. I thought the food at Da Kitchen near the airport was better if you're looking for local food. The price was great considering the location and the quality/quantity of food. Pretty good food - could be stretched to really good food (taking the extremely low prices into account). The serving was generous. I had some sort of chicken dish that was perhaps some of the most tender, flavour full chicken I have ever had (after removing the fatty skin even). My wife ordered the BBQ combo - from my sampling, my chicken was better than her ribs, slab-o-beef and chicken. We had really quick service with a smile and enjoyed the outdoor seating. The food at Aloha Mixed Plate was great! Exactly how plate lunch should be. Mr. Kupcakes and I started off with a couple drinks, Sassy Wahine and Lava Flow, and a plate of coconut shrimp. The shrimp were butterflied and covered with lots of coconut. Also, like they should be. We shared a large plate of kaluha pork, lomi lomi salmon and lua lua that came with mac salad (Hawaiian style), rice, poi and haupia (Hawaiian coconut pudding). We have visited Aloha Mixed Plate several times when we have gone to Maui. The location is nice, outside on the water. The staff is very friendly and the food is good. Prices are very reasonable. I've always ordered the teriyaki beef which comes with rice and macaroni salad. I've never had a complaint with my choice in lunch/dinner - My husband has ordered multiple items and said everything was good. I wish they would take reservations, they get very busy. We've been eating here for years. It was great food, with a great view, at a great price. Unfortunately we ate there just a few days ago & the food quality & portions have been reduced slightly. The staff is still very friendly and attentive. Don't get me wrong, if you are visiting the Island, it's still the best waterfront value in Lahaina. Great place! We stopped here for pupus driving from Kahului airport to our condo in kaanapali. We were hungry and tired (early flight). The place has been remodeled and it's lovely on the beach, open and airy. We were greeted and seated right away. Happy hour prices were in effect so we each had a delicious and rejuvenating mai tai (one of the best we've had) and added some coconut shrimp, adobo chicken and amazing ahi cakes. It took forever for our server to come to our table, but once he did show up, everything was fine. Pretty good food, and the manager stopped by (because the server was delayed), and she was very pleasant. Also found the hostess very friendly and welcoming. The kalbi ribs were very good, and the kalua pork comes from the luau next door, so it's definitely authentic, and also a good choice.
