    Mandarin Ginger (chicken included)

Love this place! The salads are always so fresh and tasty. I have gotten the Mandarin Ginger salad and the Aloha Mediterranean. Both are very tasty. All salads come with some pita bread and the dressing is place on the side so you and add as much as you like. The service is quick. The only complaints I have is that there was not much chicken and it can be on the more expensive side. It is about $5 to add chicken to your salad. Overall, I enjoy this place for a nice refreshing and healthy lunch.

I'm never a gal who buys salads, mostly because I can make them. But I recently received a gift card to aloha salads and I was pleasantly surprised with their selection of greens choices and wraps! In my opinion, a large salad was a great snack for two, but if you want a meal get a big one for yourself. My grandfather and I tried the big island beet and Ono island ahi, which both came with a delicious dressing and fresh toppings. Service was very quick and the girls taking orders and making the salads were super patient with me asking all kinds of questions about size and popular items and what not. Each plate also came with a little wrapper of pita which was a nice touch to make it hearty! For a light meal that won't make you feel like you broke the bank, give it a try!

Visited Kahala Aloha Salads (first time in awhile) ordered the Beet salad and the Ahi wrap. Both were just wonderful....the Ahi wrap was flavorful with the fish nicely seasoned and cute grape tomatoes....i would have loved more greens tho. The Beet salad was fantastic.....lots of beets, which I love, added shrimp for protein . The service was fast and efficient in a typical mall environment. I will definitely visit again

    Tomato Bisque with Pita bread

My review is limited to the tomato bisque soup with pita bread. Ordering here is simple. All take out here. There are tables and chairs in Kahala Mall that you may use to enjoy your meal. My order was to go. Service is generally quick. I ordered my soup during a non busy time, so there was no wait. But that also means, the soup is in a heated pot that's been there for some time. Service is 4 out of 5 stars. They'll toast up the pita bread which is nice. The soup is on the thick side. You could add hot water to thin the soup. I enjoy the soup as it is. This soup is comfort food. Rich, creamy tomato soup. The soup is a bit oily. Soup is 3 out of 5 stars. Ambiance is 2 out of 5. There really is no ambiance. Aloha Salad is a counter type place with just an ordering counter and display of salads and toppings. Not much else.

I was craving a salad today and Aloha Salad is in the perfect location for me. At Kahala mall, theres usually ample parking, especially during the weeks, and thats a huge plus for me. I got the Mediterranean salad with a tomato bisque. The service was pretty good considering the staff seem to be on the younger side. The wait wasn't long, and the cashier was confident and helpful. My craving was satisfied and so was I.

My picture shows a deconstructed Paniolo Salad, purchased in person Thursday evening 1/9/25. This is not the first time I've ordered this from Aloha Salad at Kahala Mall. In case you can't tell, the salad included a tad over a tablespoon (!) of corn from a can, 3 grape tomatoes, a few small mushy avo slices and a measly 7 little pieces of dried up jicama. I get that prices are up everywhere, for everything. But this went beyond that to just plain stingy. On the plus side the tons of greens included only a few inedible pieces. Yay.

While I was doing an Amazon return, Deb went to get our lunch. She picked up the Kamela Shrimp salad. The salad had a bed of spinach, topped with avocado, sliced egg, two strips of bacon and six shrimps. Wow,it was delicious. Enjoy

The sandwich itself was satisfying, but it was missing one thing: flavor from seasoning. Everything tasted fresh, yet somewhat bland because there was little to no seasoning to bring the ingredients together. My biggest disappointment was the bread. Growing up with Capriotti's back in Delaware, the rolls were a huge part of what made the sandwiches special. The rolls at this location just aren't the same. They're soft and remind me more of the standard hoagie rolls you can pick up at a supermarket rather than the distinctive rolls I remember from back home. Overall, the ingredients are fresh and the service was good, but the lack of seasoning and the difference in the bread keep this from being the Capriotti's experience I was hoping for. Not a bad sandwich by any means, just not quite what I remember from Delaware.

Since it was their anniversary on Sunday, also got their celebratory funfetti cupcake which also like their baked goods did not disappoint. The croissant base of many of their pastries is flaky. When fresh it crunches with every bite that you take. This time around we had the cinnamon roll, mango danish which had a chocolate mochi filling, and their char siu bun. It's such a neat take to have char siu in a croissant. We are used to having it in the doughy bao bread but in a croissant, savory with a crunchy outside tastes so much better. I love sweet but this one wasn't overly sweet, who would have thought that mango and chocolate pair so well together. It's the summer months, fresh mango on pastries. It was the perfect ripeness. For the cinnamon roll, you honestly cannot forget get their cinnamon roll...It's flaky and again the frosting is not overly sweet. Can't wait to get another box of their pastries again soon.

Located up in Kaimuki near the corner of Waialae Ave and 8th Ave there isn't any parking (that I know of) but just street parking which is lately impossible for me until I was thinking of visiting neighboring ACE Hardware which ended up being closed...sigh! I did notice what was open along with the street parking right in front of the restaurant. Walking in was interesting to see how spacious the space was where they do have a few seating but is nice and clean and right beside the service counter is the huge menu listing the various sandwiches. Not feeling much for meat I decided on their "Veggie Tofu Sandwich" which comes with all the classic cucumber, pickled daikon and carrots, cilantro and mayo but what's not basic is the sunrise egg which I didn't want as the tofu is enough for me but what a load of veggies it came with as I don't do cilantro but mom did so she had the load and love the generous portion as this single sandwich was totally shareable. Thank you!

Started by award-winning chef and restauranteur Kelvin Ro in 2002, this popular restaurant is known for its "grab-and-go" market with bakery and deli; and a grill serving local-style plate lunches and burgers. It offers a mix of fresh, local Hawaiian food with casual, quick-service atmosphere, popular with locals and tourists for its fresh, reasonably priced meals and baked goods. The grab-and-go offerings include gourmet deli, house-roasted meats, entrees, salads, sandwiches, soups, and desserts. Non-food merchandise includes creative note cards and freshly made lei. (their lei appear pricy). They also collaborate with other companies to offer taro chips and ice cream. The bakery's popular items include its blueberry cream cheese scones, lemon crunch cake, and Diamond Head torte. The grill has a takeout window and offers upscale local Hawaiian fare with charbroiled and grill services. The items we've tried are: * Blueberry cream cheese scones. Best scones I've ever had! Huge, flaky, moist tender with pockets of solid cream cheese and juicy blueberries make this a popular item! * Lemon crunch cake. The original layered lemon cream cake with toffee bits, with the rumor being a former employee used the same or similar recipe at Aiea Bowl. I still say that this cake at Diamond Head Bakery has more whipped cream, lemon cream, and toffee bits than at Aiea Bowl. * Teri chicken plate. Marinated chicken thighs and glazed with a sweetened Japanese style teri sauce and served with white or brown rice. Nice teri flavor enjoyed by locals, although not too familiar with visitors. Will try the char siu chicken sandwich or chicken plate next time, as it is not normally offered by plate lunch places. Both the grab-n-go and grill sections get busy with customers, and staff are knowledgeable about their items to answer questions produce efficient and quick service. Many appear to be long-time staff. No fancy ambiance, as space is used to display their merchandise for fast turnover. Owner Kelvin Ro has supported the University of HI's Culinary Institute of the Pacific at Diamond Head through monetary pledges in providing training to students in culinary arts. Hours of operation are 7:30a to 8p daily; award-winning breakfast items made to order (pancakes, fluffy omelets, roasted pork hash, loco moco) every Sat/Sun from 7:30a to 10:30a. Free private parking available fronting the front entrance, although cars may have some difficulty going in and out of the spaces due to congestion during peak hours.
