Some of the freshest poke ingredients we've seen. Try the kahlua pork with sautéed cabbage and fried rice. So many options. Food comes out fast, which makes up for the slow self-ordering line. We need to return to try more of this yummy menu.

Another grand opening, I was able to attend and support another business this time this one is close to my area and now I can have a spot to get lunch or dinner without the distance cause this location is at Chesapeake near greenbrier area. The staff delivered the moment we walk with nice greeting and for the first day of opening we were gift with a stitch plushie very adorable and gift card for our next visit that was a bonus on top of the food. Walking in you see Hawaii theme with stitch art on the wall a cute and fun way to add to the color pop in the restaurant. They have a good amount of space for both lunch date or even go large party. The staff was very welcome and they even allow us to try one of their drinks the fruit tea with real fruit inside had a sweet calm strawberry note and you can get other fruit flavor options. Cause I'm not a big strawberry fan but i was impressed of flavor and the strawberry was really good. For food I tried their soy garlic wings and pair it with the macaroni salad and both were delicious the wing had a nice crisp to them and a flavor boom with the option I choose I would highly recommend the wings and the price for them were not bad I got a six piece for around $10 dollars after tax and the macaroni salad was about $5 buck I would recommend them both and the price of most of there menu items are not bad at all for a place that have a good combination of cuisines to select from and they range from your classic and other dishes that you would be happy with the choices they have to offer from it's a mixture of Hawaii style cuisines with Asian fusion to it and I would say the wings definitely gave that. I will back to try out other food options and drink options as a whole this was a fun lunch break to start my day off with a good meal and drink to relax and unwind with.

We were nearby at a cute event and wanted to grab a bite somewhere nearby. We have never eaten here before and wanted to try something new. The inside was nice and clean and the self service kiosk was really helpful. We might have ordered too much but these will make great left overs! We bought two desserts to share and were given one more on the house. Since there were three of us that was such a kind gesture. Extremely polite and friendly staff! Highly recommend!

OH My gosh! I was not expecting to have the amount of flavors popping in my mouth but this place is it! Great choices to choose from too! Soooo flavorful. Recommending 10/10! Worth the drive from Suffolk.

As a Hawaii local living in Virginia Beach, I enjoyed the food. So far I've tried the soy garlic chicken, the short ribs, and signature BBQ plate. In terms of authenticity, I'd give it a 7/10. Even back home, every Hawaiian BBQ place does things a little differently, and this just felt like that. In terms of ambiance, 10/10. It's spacious and clean. Service was a little bit slow, but not for lack of effort. They were just busy, and they acknowledged the wait. I am excited to try other things on the menu like the garlic shrimp, loco moco and kalua pig!

Really enjoyed the Hawaiian ribs, hubby had a poke bowl everything was fresh and well cooked. My only complaint was my pina strawberry fruit tea tastes like koolaid. Service was great we will definitely be back.

First time coming here, I've seen this establishment at other locations. Staffs friendly and welcoming. Had the chicken katsu and was not disappointed. Signature tea was also good. Place is well lit and clean. Will come back to try the other things on the menu.

Very friendly service. Clean and inviting atmosphere. Food was delish and satisfying. Plan to hit them up again.

    Literally perfect sesame chicken

Amazing service and both the dishes I ordered were perfectly executed and looked exactly like the menu pics. Great start!

You'd have to ring a bell for someone to come out from the kitchen. Oh and not to mention where is the so-called Filipino hospitality? Aking mga kababayan? I am appalled by the fact that when they couldn't serve food that we wanted, the worker there chased after us when we left (ay naku!) and yelled "I tell you this - do not come and use our restroom)" there weren't signs anywhere... no wonder this restaurant is up for sale. In this world where anyone can choose to go to any place, you'd think that some hospitality is needed. Who knows having people come for any reason might actually result in some patronage.

I can get a little here and there from the owner about the food since she's a women of few words Hahaa LOL! But she does care about the quality of food she puts out. She said she cooks with virgin olive oil, including the fried stuff vs the yucky oils. That's a win for me! And she uses quality meat and ingredients. She cooks fresh everyday so no putting out old food from the day before. I think she's opening up to me y'all! Hahaa I just go in there and just give her a big smile and say I'm back! After attending a birthday party and running errands all morning, we arrived at Big Ugly starving. I immediately jumped in line for FF when we arrived. - TLC - There was a woman cooking the food and a guy handling the orders. They were extremely busy as they were the only food option at the time, but the guy was still courteous. Despite the high traffic, my order was ready in 15 minutes, as promised. - Noms - The menu is simple and consists of various combos of a handful of items. This was great, because I was able to try most of their items in a few orders. I ordered: #1 - Pancit, Teriyaki Chicken, Lumpia #4 - Fried Rice, Orange Chicken, Lumpia A la carte order of Pancit Bottle of water Pancit - good. Teriyaki Chicken - sauce was thick and concentrated, good flavor. Lumpia - great size, packed with filling and made to order (could have had 10 of those alone) Fried Rice - I think with the amount of traffic that day due to the event, she was trying to make big batches quickly and the soy sauce didn't distribute evenly, so I had patches of both white and fried rice. It was still good. Orange Chicken - good flavor. They were big chunks of chicken with minimal breading, which I appreciate. Overall, the food was fresh and the portions were generous. Two combos and a side order of pancit fed our family (and my school age children don't eat like birds either). Note about my pics: my fam tore up the food before I could even say "Wait!", so the pics are not a true depiction of how much food and how it was served. FF shut down shortly after we finished our meals. I overheard someone saying that FF had brought 6x the amount of food they normally bring and they sold out in a few hours! Good problem to have! I wonder if FF is on a regular rotation at Big Ugly Brewing, but I will definitely be on the look out for them again! Stay safe, Friends!

I tried out the caldereta and the mechado (?). I liked both items but I found it too oily for my liking. The vegetables were stewed perfectly and the meat texture were nice and tender. I think had I visited earlier in the day, it may have had a less oily texture to it. The accompanying soup was super sour but acted as a perfect palate cleanser after the oily meals. The service was excellent-- friendly, patient, and helpful. You can pick and choose different entrees over rice or pancit. Similar to getting food from Panda Express. The inside of the restaurant has several family friendly seatings available and baked goods and market also. Lastly, parking is free and plentiful right across from the front entrance.
