Very mediocre pizza-people really go out of their way to pck this up? Mushrooms were not fresh, and the sauce was bland.

Was given a totally burnt pizza last night, and Didnt have time to make a big fuss and the girl wasn't interested anyway in trying to make it better by offering to remake it lol. She said that's how they are omg. For some reason these people who work there think they are cooler then they are. This has been going on for over 20 yrs as I can tell. What they really are is an outdated pizza place which half decent pizza. The other half is on the 50 % of times they just don't care. It's not everyday that I'm impressed by a pizza, but Al's pizza made its way to the top of my list. We ordered a 16" peperoni and jalapeno pizza for dinner and it was delicious. The crust was nice and thin and the sauce was awesome! It was loaded with cheese making the pizza quite greasy, but that's how I like it. There's a bar next door that you can enter via doorway from Al's Pizza. If you want to grab some drinks with dinner, Al's will bring your pizza next door for you. How convenient! The people working here were nice and friendly. Best pizza in the area. Wish they had a little more in options like garlic bread and salad but still awesome

I never thought a review could go from a 5 star to a 1 star. But then again, I didn't think the Vikings was going to beat the Saints in the playoffs!!! I went here, last night, for a well done, garlic all over, half sausage, half pepperoni pizza, pie cut. Waited an hour for it! Got home to find out I received something very burnt. A pizza with soot. A pizza that you should have called 911 on so that they could put out the fire out. (I have proof. Just look for yourself.) She (the owner) said, on the phone, she would credit me for this catastrophe. Cool. Only to drive there a second time the next day and find out the credit was for only $5 (not mentioned on the phone) (Small businesses think small). Really??? Great thin crust pizza! Classic old school place with a bar next door. If you haven't tried this place I would highly recommend it. Enjoy!

The pizza was good but the service was awful. The order taker was a very rude young lady. The man bun delivering to your table just plopped the pizza down and walked away. My pizza tool 20 minutes longer than my wife's so we basically ate separately. If you want this pizza, get it to go. The place is a dive with awful staff. Management was only 5 feet away from rude staff so they know it, they obviously don't care. So be it. I'm one and done. Too many other friendly pizza joints with as good and often much better pizza. read more

Great thin crust pizza! I brought my 3 kids there for the first time last night and it was a long wait but they were very busy but well worth it. We went to the adjoining tavern area and the staff were great, keeping the kids entertained with games. The pizza is similar to Vito n Nicks. Best thin crust in the burbs by far. Guess I'm not the only fan of Al's... Reviews are all true...this is some good looking, craveable old school thin crust and hot out of the oven - ooohhhhh....so so good. More of a take out joint with adjacent bar. Placed a pick up order (CASH ONLY) and even though closes at 10pm, we were told to pick up by 9:30, no problem! Got there just as they took pie out of oven. Started eating in the car while burning the roof of my mouth - you just can't help yourself (or myself). Toppings were fresh and I especially liked the sausage (great flavor) on our 12" sausage, pepperoni mushroom pizza. Great sauce and good balance of cheese to toppings. As others have mentioned, they only offer PIZZA! nothing else and that's fine by me. I don't need more choices ;) We were oohhing and ahhing with each & every bite. It's totally worth a trip. Think next time I'll order extra crispy. We enjoyed the crust and texture - but I was hoping it would be crispier (wafer thin crispy, sort of). My bad - next time I'll order well done - Can't wait!! I used to rave about this place. The last several times I've been, the quality has gone down as well as service. I had a family member who lives down the street stop in on a Friday knowing it would be pretty busy. He was told it would be about an hour, completely understandable. Since he was down the street he we went home and came back about 50 minutes later he came back. The pizza had been served to the tap next door then boxed up missing a slice and was cold. I live in warrenville and was told their pizza was amazing so I was excited to try it. we called and placed an order for two pizzas and the girl who took our order was so rude on the phone. She repeated my order back wrong so I just let her know an ingredient was missing and she responded back with such attitude. My bf called the place back and told the manager how rude she was and that we wanted to cancel the order and she said sorry you feel that way and basically hung up. This is extremely thin pizza with a crusty crust that is rigid enough to hold up the ingredients. It's pretty remarkable. All they sell is pizza, bear bones and simple . No salads, no mozzarella sticks, just thin crust pizza. I think it's the simple business model that I really admire and the fact that it's run by women who really hustle . I can't even begin to say how disappointed I am at Al's. We have tried to support them during COVID because they are a local small business but their service and quality was so unacceptable tonight we will never order again. I placed our order and were told to pick it up in an hour, got there to pick it up only to be told it will be another 25 minutes. Guy had a real attitude when I asked "what happened you said an hour?" He replied "That's just how long it takes." Oh, and by the way he took my cash for it before telling me that, no apologies, nothing. After 25 minutes I went back in to get the damn pizza and now he says 10 more minutes! They clearly forgot to put the pizza in the oven. To top all this off when I got it home it wasn't even baked all the way. It was soggy and pale, barely baked on the bottom. To Mike B. Dude you were drunk when you came into the pizza place. I was there when you picked them up. You claim there was a missing piece of pizza, you brought it back and the owner showed you there wasn't a piece missing, the way you carried it out made the pizza slid in the box. You demanded a refund, she gave you your money back on the pizza you complained about BUT you wanted ALL your money back for both pizzas. You were rude and obnoxious that's why the police were called. Dude you need to go to an AA meeting, get some help! Al's pizza is GREAT. Been going since 1984 and couldn't be happier. Knew Al himself, then his daughter Lynn and now his grandaughter Katie. Pizza's even better cold the next day (that is if you have leftovers)! Super glad the dining room is open again! I am not sure as the quality of the food but the customer service and the person who claimed to be a supervisor or manager response to my complaint are unacceptable. I was blown off by the "manager" as his employee was only "joking" and if I wanted an order I could have made it and it was my problem then he promptly hung up on me. I am not sure who owns this comedy club but in spite of wether the pizza is any good or not I will never again attempt to deal with what would appear to be a complete lack of any customer service or attempt by Al's Pizza at any sort of professionalism. They are so rude when they take the order and I feel like with the curbside pickup they just toss the pizza at you. Simply awesome! Order at the Al's side and go wait for the pizza in the attached bar. Locals and regulars all seem friendly and it had just that old time homey type of place. Pizza is all it is cracked up to be! One of the best thin crusts I have had. Be careful if you order Giarnedera - it is on the hot side. Nose is still running. Frequently near the area and never knew this was here. Worth trying out if you haven't. May want to try on a weeknight since I went on a Tuesday and it quickly became packed. read more

The pizza is generally good however on 8/28/2020 at 4:05 pm, I approached the building to place an order but was met by a tall kid with a mask on saying you need to order by phone. Since he spoke to me with the door open in person, he would not accept an order in person. Ok fine. However, I was in the parking lot calling and calling and the phone kept ringing and no answer! So, I expected that things were busy. I tried at least four more times while in the parking lot! That was just plain rude. No pick up of the phone and so they lost an order. They seem to not be too interested in keeping the business going! I will rate Al's Pizza poor since the customer is not valued. This place is a hole in wall, but a gem. Only open from 11-1pm on week days and then reopens for dinner. I would advise calling in your order in advance. Great thin crust pizza that is cut in squares. They lay the topping on thick, especially the pepperoni. Just the right amount of grease. It's a family owned place that's been around since the 50s. Not much seating, but there is a dingy bar right next door. You don't get waited on so you must clean up after yourselves. Overall it's one of the better non chain pizza places in the Western Burbs. read more

Left or right? Al's Pizza left, Towne Tap right. 6;15 on a Saturday evening.. Al's was busy so we went right, we got a table for 6 at the Towne Tap, ordered three pizza's from Al's and they brought them to our table. Lot's of folks do that. Best thin crust pizza? I don't know.. but it's in the team picture. (love Vito and Nicks) We ordered three 16 incher's, a sausage, a pepperoni and and Canadian bacon. Strangely, it was an all meat night *shrug*.... that works for the carnivore in me. We asked for them all "well done" Did I mention? Bring Cash! They don't take no stinkin' plastic (there is an ATM machine.. just in case) So we had plenty of space and great pizza (well done in more than one sense!) It was a toss up for me between the sausage and pepperoni as my favorites, they pile on the pepperoni, but the sausage has great flavor. I ate a ton of both.. and also, to be fair; a bunch of Canadian bacon.. (No one can say that I don't lead a balanced life, can they?)
