We all know Alta Coffee has been circling TikTok, so of course, taking advantage of the fact that I live nearby, I wanted to see what the hype was about their Dirty Chai. To be honest, the drink is good. But not drive 45-1hr for a drink. Some may say it's super creamy and super flavorful, etc but I only get a small hint of each flavor and the creaminess is... well, normal. Not enough for me to crave it to come back but good enough that if I was in the neighborhood and wanted a dirty chai, I wouldn't mind coming back. I came here to try their iced vanilla dirty chai (iced chai with vanilla and a shot of espresso) because I saw it on my tiktok and it looked SO GOOD. I wasn't disappointed! Normally I don't gravitate towards chai but now I can see myself ordering it and trying it at different places :') It tasted crisp and light, yet very fragrant and aromatic. One of my friends got the same drink but with oat milk, and that was also really good! The oat milk def changes the flavor a bit, and my three friends that I came with all really enjoyed it like that. I also ordered their surfer's burrito and it was ehhh,, not special. There wasn't that much meat and I wish I tried their breakfast burrito, but probably for another time. They have indoor and outdoor seating. I found it odd how their utensils and napkins are kept in an outdoor cabinet, because they all got wet from the rain LOLL,, not sure how sanitary/efficient that is but it was a sight to see. After hearing about Alta Coffee on TikTok, I was in the area and decided pick up my morning coffee around 9:30am on a Sunday. When in line, I noticed the online orders were getting out much faster than waiting to order at the register. I decided to order online and waited around 10 minutes. By the time I left, the person in front of me originally was still in line and barely getting inside. Orders were called out and picked up at their outside patio table. If you know what you want and not ordering to dine in, I highly recommend using their online option. (Especially when it's busy like this on the weekends.) Beautiful plants everywhere and for the fall season they have a pumpkin pie chai latte. --it's not too strong on the pumpkin which I personally like. The chai was very good. Definitely could be considered top 5 in my personal experience. However the toast was ok, it felt more like bread with avocado, not very toasted due to the bread begin very thick. The service was good didn't take long for our food to get out. However there is an hour maximum to each table so bigger parties should keep that in mind. The place is cute and tucked away. read more

Popular coffee/restaurant in Newport Beach, when I came there was a line outside and it was fairly busy and crowded. Metered street parking was easy to find. They have indoor seating and an outdoor patio. I ordered a pickup order to go, almond milk latte and the smoked salmon bagel sandwich. You can choose to do half a sandwich or full. It was pretty good, I will say there was more tomato than there was smoked salmon, but it was still good. Love that there wasn't too much cream cheese on there, the perfect amount, and they use caper cream cheese for this sandwich. It's also topped with red onion (omit if you're concerned about breath!), and sprouts. It comes with a side of fruit, or chips. The latte was good but nothing special. A really cute coffee shop located in Newport near Lido Marina. There was a lot of street parking, but I can see that parking may be difficult on the weekends or during busier hours. I got the chai tea latte and my friend got the dirty chai tea latte, both with oat milk. I think the dirty chai latte was better than the regular chai latte because the regular one straight up tastes like soggy cinnamon toast crunch with milk. Not bad and I can't say I wouldn't get it again, but I'm not sure it's worth the price of $7 comparatively to other coffee shops with the same drink. read more
